Chapter 108. Wrong.
The crimson arrows sliced through the ocean, leaving trails of bubbles in their wake.
The oceanic grandas felt extreme threat encumbering them. They waved their hands as they turned around. Water blades sliced through the air. But it was too late.
Under Aiden’s control, the crimson arrows arced unnaturally and evaded the water blades. The crimson arrows proceeded towards their eyes. Their crimson arrows pierced through the eyes of the oceanic grandas, burrowed into their heads and drilled into their brains.
The thousands of advanced rank 2 oceanic Grandas fell on the ocean floor. Dead. Their blood turned the ocean floor crimson.
Aiden’s crimson arrows returned to Aiden, still hiding behind the tree. From where he was, he was in a 500 meter radius from them. He absorbed the blood essence of the thousands of advanced rank 2 oceanic grandas.
The crimson arrows merged together into one extremely large crimson arrow. It was very colossal and overbearing. It had a very pointy, sharp, condensed edge.
Several blobs of blood appeared before Aiden and merged with the tip of the colossal crimson arrow, reinforced it and made it sharper.
The purpose of the colossal crimson arrow was to drill through the colossal egg and kill whatever was inside it before it hatched and killed Aiden.
"Should be good enough," Aiden thought.
The floating colossal arrow spun and shot towards the colossal egg with golden streaks across it.
Pangggg!
The crimson arrow hit the colossal egg. The tip of the arrow tried burrowing through the egg.
For a moment, it couldn’t. The egg was extremely hard. Aiden willed the crimson arrow to spin and forced it to burrow through the shell.
Very soon, a cracking sound was made. The egg was not hatching.
The crimson arrow drilled a large colossal hole through the shell and pierced through it. It went further into the egg and met flesh
Puchi...
The sound of the arrow penetrating flesh resounded across the place.
Aiden didn’t stop. The crimson arrow kept drilling holes in the flesh of whatever was inside the egg.
It happened on countless occasions in mere moments.
Then, the large egg finally cracked and the shell fell apart, revealing a very large oceanic granda with holes drilled throughout its body. Instead of looking blue like the rest, it had golden streaks on its body. It was hundreds of times larger than the ones Aiden had killed earlier. It was obvious that it was evolving into a stronger and larger version of its species.
Blood had oozed from all across its dead, ginormous body.
Its eyes were closed.
Aiden sighed in relief.
It was dead.
"It was most likely unconscious during its evolution. It didn’t even know how it died huh. But I’m quite fortunate. This creature would have been very difficult to deal with had it finished its evolution."
Aiden absorbed its blood essence from behind the tree he was hiding.
He felt the accumulated blood essence in his being finally resonated. The accumulated blood essence for his next breakthrough had finally reached his limit, after who knows how long. His power was now at the level of an expert rank 2 warrior.
Aiden clenched his fists. It was a very good sensation. Strength was coursing through him like never before. He scanned the region across from him. Places ahead he previously could not see previously were now visible to him.
Aiden saw a lot of fresh corpses somewhere in the forest. There was some sort of mountain there. A gigantic expert rank 2 oceanic granda was resting before the corpses.
The corpses were corpses of the cheetah fishes, the creatures he had encountered earlier before he came across the oceanic grandas. The oceanic granda would pick up several corpses with its gigantic hands at the same time and munch on them. Aiden felt chills crawl up his spine.
Aiden closed his eyes for a moment and absorbed the blood essence of the corpses the oceanic granda was feeding on.
His range of absorption of blood essence was now one kilometer! The blue giant oceanic granda chewing the corpses of the cheetah fishes was within the one kilometer range.
Aiden was still hiding behind the tree.
After absorbing the blood essence of the corpses the giant oceanic granda was feeding on, he decided to observe the creature.
The creature eventually left the area.
Aiden decided to follow it.
He arrived before the corpse of one which was evolving when he killed it.
He looked like an ant before it. His ginormous crimson arrow was buried within its body.
The ginormous crimson arrow turned into blobs of blood and returned into him. Aiden did not want to draw the attention of any creature here.
He had a bad feeling about his current location. Although his scan had not picked up anything he could not deal with, he had a feeling that if he was not careful, he would encounter something that could kill him before he knew it.
Aiden followed the large oceanic granda from a distance, using his enhanced vision to track it and follow it.
The creature suddenly turned, as if it had sensed something. A glint flashed through its eyes for a moment before it moved forward.
Aiden sighed in relief.
He was hiding beneath a tree root at the moment. The creature did not identify him.
He continued following the creature.
Very soon, the creature left the forest territory.
Aiden kept following it from a distance. They were currently back to the regular seabed.
However, Aiden found the current route they were passing strangely familiar.
He felt like he had passed through this route before.
Very soon, the extremely large oceanic granda entered a depression that led into a large cave.
Aiden didn’t follow it.
He paused.
"This cave is not familiar, because I may have overlooked it in the past, but the environment is familiar. I’ve passed around here before." Aiden narrowed his eyes further and scanned the region ahead of the cave.
"I knew it," he thought. The kun peng and the kraken were laying asleep at the other edge of the cave. The cave had two entrances.
One of the entrances was the one the colossal oceanic granda had entered into.
As for the other entrance, the kun peng and the kraken were lying in front of it.
"So whatever they are guarding must be in there. That could be what I need to deal with to close the gate." Aiden focused his scan towards the entrance of the cave the oceanic granda had gone through. There were thousands of large ginormous eggs with golden hues flashing across it in the cave.
Plants were growing at an astonishing pace in the cave.
"I understand now. Oceanic grandas are evolving in that cave. The worldly energy the evolving oceanic grandas in the eggs are emitting is so dense that it’s causing trees to even grow. It’s like that lake I encountered with Desmonda, Asmodeus and the others in that pocket world we entered together. I need to kill those evolving creatures to close the gate. As for the kraken and the Kun peng, they are not guarding the cave. I was wrong. They are using the dense worldly energy from the eggs to cultivate. This means that if I kill the creatures in the eggs, they will notice it. Their attention will be drawn to whatever caused the energy density to return to normal, which in this situation is me."
"But, I can absorb the blood essence of the creatures in the eggs when I kill them. Hopefully that can help me break into legendary rank 2 so that if the kraken and the kunpeng attack me, I can handle them or at least by myself some time."
Aiden sighed. "A pity killing the oceanic grandas in the eggs from my location is not the best course of action. After all, I need to be where the factor that led to the gate formation is dealt with so that when the gate starts to shrink into the cave, I can leave before it closes and I get stuck here forever."
He decided. He had to enter the cave to kill the oceanic grandas in the eggs.
Aiden flapped his crimson wings and bolted towards the cave.
