Henrich woke up several hours later.

He felt like someone was carrying him.

Several images and memories flashed in his mind.

"What the hell came over me?" He thought.

"Shit... I’m screwed. I actually killed her? What am I gonna do? Had I killed some random person, things would have been different. But the person I killed is a Ravenspar. Conflict between our two families is imminent. Also, there were witnesses present. There’s no way I will get out of this situation. Why why why why why why! Why! The fuck did I have to do that! What the hell came over me!!! I need to run away! I need to leave this place! No... I should wait and flee to another city when we leave the pocket world. I can’t guarantee that my family can protect me from the Ravenspars."

"Oh... you are awake." A familiar voice snapped him out of his thoughts. His vision cartwheeled as he was flung sideways towards the ground.

He was crushed into the desert sand.

Several pairs of eyes were on him.

"What’s gonna happen to him now!"

"He’s finished!"

"His life is basically over. His future is ruined."

Several conversations brewed.

"You are not off the hook. As you may have already deduced, you killed a student of Derulo City University on a joint expedition. That reflects badly on us," the lead instructor from Harland Metropolitan University said to him. "You’ll be expelled with immediate effect and blacklisted from all warrior universities across Endra, when we close the gate and leave the pocket world. The rest is between you, your family and that of your fiance. And don’t try to cook up an excuse or a lie about what happened. There were multiple eye witnesses. Your future is over."

The words hit Henrich like a lightning bolt.

It felt like he was dreaming. A single action had cost him everything.

He could not explain why he became so violent and wanted to kill Rexilia all of a sudden. But it did not change what he did.

He was totally fucked.

He nodded dumbly and tagged along. Aiden Vhorn did not cross his mind anymore. He was just thinking about the fact that his future had been cut off completely. Multiple scenarios concerning what to do with his life played in his mind.

However, none of them played out well.

"Even if I run away, what’s the point? It will only make it easier for the Ravenspars to kill me. Staying with the family is my only hope of living. At worst, I will become a useless person and while my pitiful days away if I don’t die." He sighed and tagged along.

Serves this bastard right.

Multiple ladies thought. He always treated women like they were his playthings.

"I hate to admit it but we need to prioritize this fucker’s safety. Else the Ravenspars won’t have an outlet for their revenge and they will have issues with us when we return," an instructor from Cosmere City University said.

Everyone nodded.

"Scram into the middle of the group!" Someone shouted at him. Like a defeated and broken dog, Henrich moved into the middle of the group.

Aiden, ahead of the group with the instructors, simply nodded inwardly.

Everything had gone according to plan and the hardest part had been achieved. Apart from his friends, no one else knew he was behind what happened. Neither did anyone suspect him. He had been very meticulous.

"All that’s left is for the Ravenspars and the Fangs to turn on each other," Aiden thought.

He narrowed his crimson eyes as he motioned for the group to halt.

"Environmental hazards spotted ahead. Dark whirlwinds sweeping across the terrain," Aiden said.

"The dark whirlwinds we spotted earlier? What if they are not dangerous?" Someone said.

Everyone nodded. The whirlwinds may be dangerous. But there was a possibility they weren’t.

"They are dangerous. I’ve been observing them for the past five minutes. They form randomly. So, predicting their patterns and trying to avoid them will be quite difficult. Five hundred beginner rank 2 sandworms were just spotted crawling beneath the sand ahead. The whirlwinds turned them into liquid goo," Aiden said.

Everyone became silent. Chills crawled up their spines.

"What do we do?" A student asked.

"I suggest we take the aerial route," someone said. "Aiden just mentioned that sandworms were spotted beneath the sand. Apart from the whirlwinds we need to deal with, environmental hazards could also harm us."

"I agree. But we can’t be too high up in the sky. There could be aerial creatures that could identify us and target us." An instructor nodded.

"I think that’s the best course of action."

"Yeah... same.."

Everyone came to an agreement.

Aiden didn’t find anything wrong with this plan.

He had the exact plan in mind.

"Alright." He nodded.

"How are we going to travel aerially for a prolonged period?" Someone asked.

Using their affinities for aerial maneuvering drained a lot of worldly energy.

"The expedition team need to conserve energy in order to slaughter chaotic beasts so that I can absorb the blood essence of the corpses of the creatures they slaughter. Also, our survival in a way depends on our large numbers, especially that of the instructors. I also need personally consider the fact that inasmuch as Desmonda, Candice, Luke, Asmodeus and Seraphina can hold their own weight, using aerial maneuvering for a long time will deplete them of worldly energy which could increase the rate of harm they sustain. I guess I have to volunteer," Aiden thought.

"I’ll handle that."

Several blobs of blood appeared before him.

The blobs of blood transformed into a large floating crimson carpet.

Aiden flapped his crimson wings and landed on the crimson carpet.

Everyone else followed and climbed it.

Did this guy not run out of worldly energy? What kind of monster was he?

The crimson carpet shot towards the horizon.

"Instructor Pamela and Asmodues. You two are the gravity users among us. Try to alter the gravitational field around us. We can’t predict when a whirlwind will sweep across this place. But we can influence its movement when it appears in our direction. The rest of us should ready ourselves for any attacks that may come our way," Aiden said.

"Roger that," several replied.
