Chapter 80. Care for a bite?
The inhibition removal poison appeared in a vial before him.
Aiden’s blood appeared before him and turned into very tiny threads.
Aiden opened the vials.
The tiny threads of blood entered the vial and immersed themselves into the liquid poisons in the vials.
"This poison is very potent. Just a drop will be enough. Also, it’s manufactured in a way that, no trace of it can be detected in the bloodstream after its effects wear off in 30 minutes. So, even if an autopsy was to be done, or a blood test was to be done, no poison will be found in the blood stream," Aiden thought. He had read about a lot of poisons extensively in the past during his sessions with instructors in the Vhorn Estate.
The only reason why he decided to not become an alchemist was because he was not a traditional warrior who cultivated with worldly energy. Alchemists required the use of worldly energy to make medicines.
He mused further, "I doubt anyone will perform an autopsy or a blood test to rule out a poison influence though. The plan is too subtle for anyone to suspect any external influence. After all, these two threatened each other right before we entered the gate. That will be the social proof people will link this incident to."
Aiden’s eyes turned crimson.
His vision spread outwards. Eventually, he found Henrich and Rexilia’s tents.
Henrich was currently in his room alone.
He was geared up and seated in a meditative posture. Clearly, he was waiting for everyone to go to sleep so that he could slip out and kill Aiden. A cup of water was close to him.
Aiden also looked at Rexilia. She was seated on a mat in her tent. Some tea and drinks were near her.
Aiden’s tiny crimson threads moved out of poison vials after being dipped in the poisons. The threads moved out of the tent.
Even Desmonda and the others in the tent failed to identify them. They were very tiny. Even with the eyes of a warrior, one had to pay close attention before they identified the threads.
The threads moved across various tents and silently entered the tents of Rexilia and Henrich.
Neither Rexilia or Henrich noticed the tiny crimson threads.
A thread slowly entered the cup of water of Henrich. Another in Rexilia’s room slowly entered the drinks.
"The poison will spread in the drinks in about 5 seconds," Aiden thought.
After five seconds, the threads pulled out of the water and the drinks and left the tents of the two.
The threats returned to Aiden’s tent, turned into blobs of blood and returned into him.
No a single person noticed that Aiden had just planted a poison in the drink and water of Rexilia and Henrich.
Aiden’s eyes were still crimson. He was still monitoring Rexilia and Henrich.
Henrich opened his eyes.
He took the water in the cup and drunk it.
Rexilia also took a sip of one of the drinks in her room.
"This should be done soon. Since they already hate each other, the inhibition removal poisons in the drinks they’ve taken will remove every reservation they have about murdering each other. One of them is bound to kill the other and one is bound to be heavily wounded if they are not killed by the other person," Aiden thought.
"No one is asleep yet. Their commotion will draw everyone’s attention. So everyone will witness them fight as one kills the other.
When that happens, their families will turn on each other in hatred. A war will break out between the two families. The engagement won’t happen, therefore no one will see me as a threat to eliminate."
Rexilia started getting angry all of a sudden.
"Why should he be alive?" She thought as murderous intent started clouding her reason.
"If I assassinate him, the engagement won’t happen. I can live my life the way I want." She stood up and dashed out of her tent.
Henrich also stood up. Killing intent had also clouded his reason.
"Since she does not want to be with me and she wants to be with Aiden Vhorn, then I should kill her and kill Aiden Vhorn too. The two of them can just go and die."
He left his tent.
*****
"Hey.. what’s that?"
"Do you hear that?"
Two instructors on guard duty suddenly heard some explosions and undulations of worldly energy.
Suddenly, three students rushed towards them.
"Seniors, you need to put an end to this or else they will kill themselves!. Some of us tried to stop them but we almost got killed. I don’t know what got into them, but they are hell bent on killing each other!"
"Yeah, you need to stop them."
The instructors looked at the students, dumbfounded. They followed the student to where the explosions were.
They rushed there.
When they arrived there, what they saw shocked them.
Two streaks of light were flashing across the place.
One was launching arcs and blades of water towards the other. The other was clad in a humanoid earth construct that looked like a golem. She clashed with the male launching water attacks towards her with sheer power.
These two were Rexilia and Henrich.
It was obvious that they had the intention of killing each other.
"Stop!" One of the instructors rushed forward.
However, he was too late.
The two collided again. Rings of shockwaves spread outwards. The tents across the place were completely destroyed.
Everyone saw them. The recoil of their clash blew them away from each other.
Rexilia crashed into a tree. She coughed a mouthful of blood and fell down. The earth construct covering her figure disappeared.
Even as she was dying, she was still under the effects of the poison.
"I should have killed him a long time ago," she thought. Her vision blanketed. She was dead.
As for Henrich, he moved towards her figure, still under the effects of the inhibition poison, about to pummel her into meat paste. He was also very injured. But he was in better shape.
However an Instructor knocked him out before he could do anything worse.
One walked to Rexilia’s figure.
"I need a healer here... wait..." He widened his eyes. "He killed her!"
Everywhere was silent.
Everyone was shocked.
Well, except for one person...
Aiden Vhorn. He was just calm.
He simply nodded.
"Everything went according to plan," he thought.
Desmonda, Candice, Luke, Seraphina and Asmodeus looked at him.
It clicked...
The poison he made Desmonda buy was an inhibition removal poison. So this was what he wanted to do.
Make them lose control over their emotions, amplifying their existing hatred for each other so that one kills the other. This way, the Ravenspars and the Fangs won’t have any reason to come after him. The engagement will be annulled, and their motivation for wanting to kill him will disappear.
Rather the two families will hate each other so much and want to kill each other.
The Ravenspars would want to go to every extent to get rid of the Fangs for the death of their daughter.
The Fangs will also try to protect their son. There’s no way they’d let him get killed. The only way to do that will be to also attack the Ravenspars.
They looked at Aiden, casually heading towards them as if what had just occurred had nothing to do with him. Chills crawled up their spines.
This friend of theirs, offending him was the worst thing any one could do in their lifetime. How did he think?
"Shit... he actually killed her!"
"I always knew Henrich was a bastard but this is going too far.."
"He actually killed his fiance!"
"Damn it! This guy is such an asshole!"
"What the hell got into him?"
"Damn it. The Fangs and the Ravenspars will go to war because of this after we leave the pocket world and the news gets out. Since it was witnessed by everyone, neither part can deny what happened!"
"Well, right before we entered the gate, they were ready to pounce on each other. It seems the duo hated each other more than we thought. But to think Henrich will actually kill her! This guy has gone too far. He’s brought his whole family into a lot of trouble!"
As the students discussed among themselves, Rexilia’s friends clenched their fists.
"That bastard actually killed her??" Tartara hissed.
"Operate with logic here dude? What are you gonna do? Avenge her? The Ravenspars won’t rest till she’s avenged. As for Henrich, his days ahead will be bitter. His family will go to war with the Ravenspars for him, but his days at Harland Metropolitan University will definitely be over," Joseph said.
Tartara nodded. The duo decided to grieve his friend in silence and forget about taking revenge.
The instructors from Harland Metropolitan University walked to the instructors from Derulo City University.
The leader among them spoke.
"We are very sorry for the actions of our student. We will see that he is expelled effective immediately from the university for his actions when we leave the pocket world."
"That will do. It’s good that he will be held accountable for his actions. The family of the young lady who died and the young man who killed her will ask questions. Since everyone here was a witness to the incident, let’s report everything just as it happened to them so that we are not dragged into any form of future vendetta between the Fangs and the Ravenspars," Cosmo replied.
"Certainly," the instructors from Harland Metropolitan University said with relief.
Everyone else nodded.
The expedition team leader of Derulo City University, Cosmo Adams, could read between the lines. It was a relief. None of them would be implicated in the matter.
So what if she was a student of Derulo City University. Her fiance had killed her. So the families of the victim and the killer could kill themselves over it. If the universities went around getting involved in the aftermath of every student from their institutions who died, or killed someone, because of the students’ own decisions, the universities would not have lasted this long.
This matter was simply none of their business.
Pamela walked towards the body of Rexilia. She put it in a storage bag so that it would be in good shape to hand it over to her family.
As for Henrich, his unconscious body was dragged away by an instructor from Harland Metropolitan University.
No one was in the mood to even sleep anymore.
Some were even looking over their shoulders to ensure that they had not made any enemies of anyone in the group. No one wanted to die.
As for Aiden, he arrived before Desmonda and the others.
He took out an apple.
"I have more," he said. "Care for a bite?"
They looked at him like he was the most craziest person on the planet.
