Ascension Of The Blood Supreme

Chapter 143. Report

Outpost 47 of sector 3 was silent.

All eyes were on Aiden Vhorn.

Miller especially had never been so shocked in his life. Throughout his military career, this was the first time he had encountered a tactician of this calibre.

What at all was Aiden Vhorn not good at?

They said he was proficient in the use of several weapons.

His energy reserves were considered monstrous. He had monstrous defenses. He was very adaptable in combat, too. One moment he would be fighting like an assassin. In the next, he would be fighting like a tank.

One minute he would be fighting like someone well-proficient in swords. In another, he would operate like a marksman.

He also had extremely monstrous enhanced eyesight.

That, he had witnessed for himself during the 30-minute period Aiden Vhorn had been at the base.

He also had exceptional battlefield awareness. He was able to use the environment and resources available exceptionally to his advantage to solve problems.

What a monster.

Why did command decide to blacklist such an exceptional operative?

Right... he disrespected four admirals and rejected their goodwill to become their disciples.

But Miller’s and the opinion of everyone in the base had shifted. Perhaps Aiden Vhorn simply wanted to walk his own path. This must have been why he rejected the offers of the admirals, right? Someone who could singlehandedly overturn such a desperate situation at the outpost was not someone who could be viewed with common sense.

Perhaps the path he decided to walk was one where becoming the disciple of the admirals would limit him?

Several thoughts ran in the minds of Miller and several operatives.

Aiden was naturally oblivious to their thoughts.

He absorbed the blood essence of the 13 beginner rank 3 horde commanders, feeling a quiet surge spread through him. His range of vision, smell, and hearing had increased. And he felt stronger than he did previously, even though he was still a legendary rank 2 warrior.

He knew he was making real progress towards his breakthrough to beginner rank 3.

Every amount of absorbed blood essence counted.

’Looks like my work here is done,’ Aiden thought as he stared at the notification.

He had received 1 million contribution points for completing the mission. The message also indicated that he had exceeded expectations again.

However, the notice, Under Administrative Audit, boldly remained attached to his profile. It meant that the one million contribution points were useless.

Not that he cared anyway.

All he needed was blood essence to grow stronger. Wherever he was sent on a mission, he would not only survive, but he would turn the place into a farm of blood essence. Deepsea and company had no idea they were actually making him comfortable.

’I hope my next mission is somewhere away from the Frontlines. Perhaps in one of the states of the empire? I could broaden my horizons a bit,’ Aiden thought.

Aiden turned and nodded to Captain Miller.

Before Captain Miller could say anything, blobs of his blood turned into crimson wings and attached themselves to his back.

Aiden flapped his crimson wings and bolted off.

Miller and several other operatives stared at the back of the retreating operative. Years ahead, those among the operatives at the outpost who would still be alive would recount this moment with pride. They would boast about the fact that they shared a life-and-death moment with the Crimson Reaper, Aiden Vhorn.

At the moment, though, they knew that if Aiden Vhorn did not meet any unfortunate situation and die, he would appear on the Tyrant Fate Rankings when he became a rank 3 warrior. They had a strange feeling that in a time to come, Aiden Vhorn would not just shake the Eldorath Empire or the southern continent, but Endra like never before!

After Aiden flew out of Outpost 47, he took out a face-altering cream and applied it on his face.

His facial appearance changed into that of an average-looking dude.

He turned the crimson wings on his back into blobs of blood and returned them into him.

What was the point of using face-altering cream to lose assassins when he used his affinity to give his presence away?

He landed in the snow in the mountain pass that led back to Base c322. He crossed several distances with each step he took, his figure arcing through the air.

His enhanced senses operated at full throttle.

Several beginner rank 3 assassins were stretched across the mountain range.

’Looks like contracted assassin organisations have not yet received feedback that I’m dead. So, they decided to send beginner rank 3 assassins this time. They should enjoy the cold weather here then,’ Aiden thought as he rounded several areas with uncanny and covert precision.

Because he knew every nook and cranny of the mountain range where the assassins were hiding, he was able to use unconventional routes to bypass them and escape.

Soon, he saw Base c322 ahead.

’I forgot to update my rank the last time I returned to base. I should do that this time before I head out for my next mission,’ Aiden thought.

Eldorath Empire Frontlines.

Sector 3.

Base c322.

Captain Peterson’s office.

Peterson was currently staring at the holographic message with shock on his face.

Operative Vhorn managed to complete the mission in just 30 minutes after arriving at Outpost c322?

30 fucking minutes?

How?

"He didn’t complete the wrong mission, right?" After speaking, he realized how stupid he sounded.

The AI would not recognize a mission as completed if the operative did not complete that particular mission they were sent on. Also, the details of the mission completion were right in front of him.

Aiden Vhorn had completed a hell-difficulty-level reinforcement division mission—which would have required a team of elite beginner rank 3 and legendary rank 2 warriors to even manage to attempt to complete—alone, and in just 30 minutes??

How was this possible?

When Peterson received the command from Admiral Deepsea to give Operative Vhorn the Outpost 47 mission, he knew the admiral and the other admirals wanted to punish Aiden Vhorn for disrespecting them by rejecting the offers to be their disciple in front of thousands of operatives at the base. And sometimes, punishment in the military could lead to death.

However, Aiden Vhorn had made his choice to disrespect four admirals. So, he had to live with the consequences of his actions. If he died on the mission, which was highly probable, so be it.

But if Aiden Vhorn survived, it was none of Peterson’s business. He was just an operative executing orders. He had a long way to go in the military. Trying to poke his nose into the business of his superiors instead of executing orders he received was treason.

He had expected death to be the most probable outcome for Aiden Vhorn.

However, reality had shattered his expectations.

’Such a pity that he had to ruin his career by getting on the bad side of four admirals. No matter how talented he is, no major, colonel, or general in the base will be willing to associate themselves with him. Sigh...’ Peterson thought.

"I should report the mission results to Admiral Deepsea, though, and mind my business," Peterson said.

He tapped on a hologram and connected to the admiral.

Deepsea was currently in his living room in his villa. He was watching some television at the moment.

Suddenly, a glint flashed through his eyes.

He tapped on his watch twice.

A hologram of Peterson appeared.

"Sir, permission to report progress on Outpost 47 operation?"

Deepsea nodded. "Proceed, Captain."
