Chapter 61.Adapting
Aiden floated on the sea surface.
He held his crimson spear as he flapped his crimson wings to defy the gravity bearing down on him.
Several streaks of light congregated at where he was and transformed into someone.
The person was in a deep blue battlesuit.
He had a tall figure. He did not have a very handsome face. But his face was very masculine and well sculptured.
He had chestnut hair.
His eyes were dark and frivolous.
He held a blue spear in his right hand.
"So he also challenged the seventh floor as an advanced rank 1 warrior huh," Aiden thought.
The figure disappeared towards Aiden.
Aiden also disappeared.
The two met mid air.
Crimson and blue spear arced towards each other. The spears met.
Clannnnnggg....
Shockwaves rippled outwards.
Aiden felt pain travel through his arm. His armor cracked open.
He somersaulted towards the sea.
Coupled with the x32 gravity he was still trying to adapt to, it was as if the skies had slammed into him.
He tumbled on the sea surface for a while until he managed to stabilize himself.
He stared at the avatar of Grand Marshal Armstrong Lee which had not moved an inch from where they had clashed earlier.
"As expected of the avatar of the strongest man in the Eldorath Empire. Even his avatar at the advanced rank 1 level is something else," Aiden thought.
He shot towards the avatar again.
He swung his spear towards the avatar. The avatar swung the spear towards Aiden too.
Aiden was unable to overpower the avatar of Armstrong Lee.
He was constantly overpowered by the avatar.
He sustained multiple injuries. His armor would crack. Blood would leak from his skin. Bruises would form across his body.
He would be kicked into the ocean. Then he would rise again. His quick regeneration and healing would set in and would engage the avatar again.
Coupled with the x32 gravity, Aiden was having a hard time.
But he did not give up.
He was becoming sharper. His movements were becoming fluid and precise.
Those watching were surprised.
The fact that he did not die from just a single attack of Armstrong Lee was an achievement in its own right.
Those who had cleared the seventh floor in the past always died from the first strike of Armstrong Lee. Then, they’d respawn and try again over several times, before they could defeat the avatar.
What made clearing the seventh floor more difficult was that adapting to the x32 gravity took time.
Also, the avatar of the grand marshal was simply too strong. It was obvious that the grand Marshal was a combat genius during his university days.
But Aiden Vhorn was not just starting to adapt to the x32 gravity. He was also starting to evade the Avatar’s attacks. And, he was starting to launch attacks of his own towards the avatar.
"I’m adapting," Aiden thought.
His crimson spear arced at a strange angle. The spear came down on Armstrong’s avatar. Armstrong’s avatar thrust the spear forward at a weird angle. The two spears collided.
Shockwaves rippled outwards.
This time, Aiden was not pushed back. He did not sustain any injuries.
His crimson armor remained intact.
Aiden felt the gravity on him lessen completely.
Or rather, he had completely adapted to it.
He stared back at the avatar with his crimson eyes. He flapped his crimson wings, maintaining his flight.
He collided once again with the avatar of the grand marshal.
Clang...clang ..clang...
The two turned into phantoms of crimson and blue. Their figures collided and separated. They darted across the ocean. Each collision caused rings of shockwaves to spread across the ocean. Sea waves rose and fell.
Spears clashed over and over again.
"I’m becoming sharper," Aiden thought.
Just a spar with the avatar of this old monster from his campus days was helping him improve this much?
The avatar separated from Aiden.
It pointed its spear towards Aiden.
Blue flames emerged from the tip of the weapon and enlarged into serpent-like flames.
The large serpent-like flames shot towards Aiden.
A glint flashed through Aiden’s eyes.
Under his control, the crimson spear transformed into what looked like a crimson sea dragon.
If those watching this did not know that Aiden’s affinity was behind this, they would have actually assumed the crimson sea dragon was an actual sea dragon. However, they knew it was formed as a result of his uncanny control of his affinity. It was not a living breathing sea dragon. It was just an attack he had formed from his control of his blood affinity.
But the kind of control and mastery of one’s affinity that was required to create an attack of this calibre had to be extremely profound.
No one was shocked by the large blue serpent flames from Armstrong’s avatar. The man was a living legend.
But Aiden Vhorn had not been a warrior for even two months. What sort of training at all did he put himself through to have this level of control over his affinity?
Why was he always defying logic?
Aiden naturally didn’t know what the audience were thinking..
He did not even know that what he deemed his training in the gravity tower had caused an uproar on campus. Neither would he have cared if he knew.
The crimson sea dragon shot towards the large blue serpent like flames.
The two attacks collided.
A resplendent blue and crimson light tore across the place.
The crimson sea dragon and the blue serpent like flames clashed over and over again.
The blue serpent like flames flickered and cracked eventually, then disappeared.
Only the crimson sea dragon remained.
The crimson sea dragon turned into five crimson arrows and shot towards the avatar of the grand Marshal from different directions.
The avatar launched different flame attacks towards the crimson arrows.
He managed to break them apart.
However they congregated again into one crimson arrow before the avatar launched himself towards Aiden.
The crimson arrow pierced through his battlesuit, through the chest, and stopped the heart of the avatar.
The Avatar’s gaze dimmed, and fell into the ocean.
Everyone watching was silent.
