Chapter 139. Unbelievable 1
Aiden flapped his crimson wings and flew upwards. He assessed the situation at the base as he neared the walls facing his direction.
There were over two thousand legendary Rank 2 chaotic beasts, three thousand rank 1 beasts, and 13 beginner Rank 3 horde commanders.
Currently, the northern walls and the southern walls were breached. Rank 2 and rank chaotic beasts had entered the southern and northern districts. Considering the situation at these locations, the warriors were not doing so well. Coupled with the fact that the numbers at the base were already thin, the beasts overwhelmed the operatives in sheer numbers.
As for the eastern and the western districts, their walls were on the verge of breaking down due to the assault of the beasts. However, the walls still stood. But they could come down at any moment.
The only reason why the walls had not come down was because the warriors there were pushing the rank 1 and rank 2 chaotic beasts there slightly.
Some of the operatives were assaulting the beasts from the top of the walls by launching long-range attacks on the beasts.
Some of the operatives were also engaged in brutal battles with the chaotic beasts in the Red Faults.
Aiden’s gaze peered through the Red Faults.
He saw thirteen beginner rank 3 chaotic beasts in the center of the forests in the canyons. They were spread across various locations.
"They are coordinating the assault on the base. They want to stay away from the base because they understand that they are central to the assault on the base. They want to use the horde they are coordinating to weaken the base considerably before they make an open appearance. These beasts cannot be killed through conventional methods. There are thirteen of them after all. According to Intel, only the captain is a beginner rank 3 warrior here. He cannot handle thirteen beginner rank 3 horde commanders. Also, all the other high-ups here are legendary rank 2 warriors. However, I don’t currently spot any legendary rank 2 warriors at the base. It means they are most likely dead. I can deal with all the rank 1 and rank 2 chaotic beasts. But the beginner rank 3 horde commanders will be an issue. Wait... do they have some beginner rank 3 poisons at the base? If they do, we can use them to deal with the beginner rank 3 horde commanders. Since I can see them from my current location, launching a long-range attack with the poisons to deal with them won’t be an issue in the long run. Anyway, the more corpses there are, the more blood essence for me." Aiden didn’t care about the operatives at the base. He only cared about the blood essence he could get from the corpses of the chaotic beasts and the operatives that were dying.
However, whether he lived or died was currently connected to outpost 47. So, he needed to find a way to kill the 13 beginner rank 3 horde commanders. Also, if he killed the beginner rank 3 horde commanders, he could absorb their blood essence.
He finally arrived at the northern district.
Clad in his crimson armor, which looked no different from a battlesuit, Aiden floated calmly in the sky.
"I would have loved close combat. But this is not the time for that," Aiden thought. Any second he wasted could get him killed.
Several large blobs of blood appeared before him. The large blobs of blood transformed into several crimson arrows that floated before him.
The crimson arrows were so numerous that they blotted out the skies. They numbered tens of thousands. Yes, this was extremely ridiculous. For someone who cultivated with worldly energy, their energy reserves would have completely depleted. But Aiden was not a traditional cultivator. Every blood essence he absorbed would become a permanent part of his being. So, there was no way he’d run out of blood essence.
Several operatives engaged in battles with chaotic beasts in the northern district looked up.
"What the hell is that?" someone said as they launched a water bullet towards a chaotic beast.
"It’s reinforcements. They have arrived," another person whispered as they evaded the attack of a rank 2 chitin crawler, spun, and brought a hammer coated with rocks towards the rank 2 chitin crawler.
"Wait... look... it’s just one person?"
"Which captain is that?"
"Wait... crimson wings... crimson elemental constructs... It’s the Crimson Reaper!"
"Aiden Vhorn? The recently blacklisted operative?"
"How could they send just a single operative here? We’ve been written off. Command wants us dead!"
"Yeah, I know he’s a monster, but does he think he can handle all these beasts on his own?"
Whispers spread across the western district among the operatives engaged with the chitin crawlers and other chaotic beasts.
They were very pissed at the outcome. A single operative had been sent as reinforcement.
They had been written off to die.
What could a single operative achieve?
In the command center of outpost 47, Captain Miller stared at the screen with shock on his face.
Aiden Vhorn had suddenly appeared above the northern district. He had formed crimson swords through elemental manipulation. The crimson arrows numbered the thousands. There were so many that they blotted the skies and turned the skies crimson.
"Is he planning on dealing with the chaotic beasts in the northern district alone?" he muttered.
Miller found this absurd. Aiden Vhorn’s energy reserves could not hold out. Some of the crimson arrows would definitely give out before they reached their target. He didn’t look down on Aiden Vhorn. He was well known for the Massacre of Burning Sands and the recent obliteration of some powers in Derulo City.
However, the numbers they were dealing with this time were staggering. Not even Aiden Vhorn could handle them.
Was he so eager to die that he wanted to desperately launch his best attack against the chaotic beasts?
As he and everyone in the command center stared at the screen, the crimson arrows rained down with swift, precise speed. They were so fast that they turned into crimson phantoms streaking across the skies.
