At the Northern Fort

Deputy Director, feed (1)

Ninth branch of the Knights of the Kingdom, entrusted with the northern fort.

The deputy chief - Grail, who is in second place from the top, recently had something to look forward to.

He's still freaked out while being respected by his men, but now he loosens that sharp glance and stares at a certain creature.

I've been living in the cabin next to my quarters for about four days now, it's a white fox.

I didn't look into it, so there's no certainty, but Grail thought it was probably a female. He's adorable, cowardly, and somehow feels like a 'girl'.

She's usually waking up faster than Grail, but she's sleeping today. He easily rests in his old cabin, wrapped well in a blanket.

I think it's still too small to be independent, but there's no such thing as a mother fox nearby. Grayle was wondering if he had strayed from his parents or abandoned parenthood and got lost here alone. I still can't seem to harvest the bait on my own, and I've never seen him hunting.

Step away from the window with the sleeping fox sideways. Getting dressed and getting ready, Grail headed to the dining room on the property. It's a cafeteria reserved for knights working in the fort.

Because it's still early, or when I went inside, popularity was sparse. In half an hour, there will be more at once.

Good morning, Lieutenant.

"Oh, good morning"

Grail took his breakfast to the tray as he greeted his early risen men as well as himself. Sitting alone and eating silently, he speaks to the chef as he returns the dishes. He's a middle-aged man with a good width, who's been working here for a long time.

"For the morning, can I have it?

"Oh, Deputy. We've split it it up."

He heard from Grail and knew the presence of the child Gitsune. And they always prepare meals for me.

It's just something to keep the meals for the knights thin, so it's not a big deal. Today's girl fox breakfast is soaked in bread in soup with turnips, cabbage and bacon. Morning menus have many soup systems.

I thought the fox preferred meat, but that girl fox doesn't seem to either. I also eat vegetables, bread, and fruits that look delicious.

Conversely, he didn't seem to like raw meat, and although he was happy to eat meat dumplings and heated meat, once he gave him fresh venison with dripping blood, he looked somewhat unpleasant and twisted away.

Until you got here, you grew up with breast milk, and you don't think raw meat is food?

"Don't let the turnips out for the first time. I hope you like it."

The chef said as he offered a plate with the dish. The knights eat anything with guts, but care about the child fox meal. I didn't seem to mind the green pieces, they were left clean when I put them out yesterday.

"There's no scum, and you'll be fine. Always bad."

When Grail says,

"Fine. I'm glad you finished your meal."

And the chef laughed. Let's float like grandfathers with grandchildren when they say they've never actually met yet. They make jerky for the kid fox today.

Grinning bitterly at the tense chef, Grail returned to the dorm room with a breakfast for the child fox.

When I opened the door to the room, a child fox was stuck in the window. I guess I woke up while Grail was going to the dining room.

I'm on a crate and I'm stretching my neck, but I can just see the tip of my forefoot and big ears on the window and the top half of my face from Grail's side.

Am I hungry, the way I was trying to peek into the room with my little nose ringing was adorable and quite destructive.

Grail, who doesn't change his expression very much, laughs by accident.

"Come on, it's a mess."

As Grail approached him and opened the window, the child fox quickly stepped out of the crate and took a distance. I thought I was used to it a lot, but it seems scary when I'm still close. Placing a plate with soup on the second step of the crate doesn't come close by wandering around.

But when Grail closed the window, it was time to get in the crate and start eating.

I was nervous when Grail was just gazing at me in the beginning, but now if I pinch the window, it seemed okay for him to be watching nearby.

Sometimes he moves his mouth in a gutter as he raises his face and checks on Grail.

See you at night.

Grail slammed the window with his fingers and spoke to the child fox. Her movements are funnier than ever, and I never get tired of watching them, but it's time for raw hatred and workout.

Exit the dormitory room and head to the training ground outside.

Grail's job as deputy chief of support has a lot of paperwork and sparkling deskwork. Since he was in a position to supervise his men in training, he also stopped moving his body until he was tired.

So he works out on his own every morning before work starts. He comes to work after completing basic menus such as muscle strength training, running in, and sword bareback (but the amount of exercise that other knights would be unable to move for a day if they did the same menu).

He doesn't know what his men call 'Ironman' in awe of such a grail in the shadows.
