Chapter 317: Several More New Loves
Han Li stared at it blankly. "You’re..."
’I’m not! I’m not! I’m not!!!’
The Little Stone had no face, but Han Li could still sense its terror.
Han Li fell silent as he watched a stone kowtow to him in a pleading gesture.
After a long moment, his face filled with horror. "The stone’s come to life!"
’These days, water spirits are one thing, but now stones can come to life too!’
’In another eight hundred or a thousand years, is a Monkey King going to pop out of a rock?!’
’Huh?’
The Little Stone froze.
’Han Li didn’t recognize it?’
Seeing Han Li’s terrified expression, the Little Stone calmed down. It thought for a moment and realized that in its current form, there was no way Han Li would recognize it.
Besides, its aura had no connection to when it was the Heaven and Earth Stone. Even with his wolf-like sense of smell, Han Li wouldn’t be able to pick up its scent.
Only then did it remember it could speak. It performed a few more difficult maneuvers, pretending to stretch its body.
"Ahem. ’Come to life’? I am the Divine Stone."
The Little Stone said aloofly, "What are you doing here?"
"Er," Han Li faltered. "I..."
’He couldn’t just admit that his wife and children were ignoring him to play with the Jelly, so he’d come here to sulk, could he?’
For once, the wolf and the stone had a moment of tacit understanding. One didn’t answer, and the other didn’t press the issue. They each found a small corner to go mope in.
It wasn’t until Yu An grew tired of playing that she remembered the missing Han Li. It was getting late. She yawned, grabbed him, and prepared to head back to sleep.
Han Li immediately perked up. "An’an, are we sleeping together? Does that mean I can..."
Before he could finish, the five Zaizai latched onto him. "Beast Father, don’t you want to sleep with us?"
Han Li was speechless.
Yu An let out a snort of laughter. "All right, all right, stop teasing your Beast Father. Go on and get to sleep."
"Here, take the Jelly with you. Don’t stay up too late playing."
It was a false alarm. Han Li wiped a thick bead of cold sweat from his brow.
"An’an, you’re so mean," he grumbled. "You scared me to death."
With that, he swept Yu An into his arms and strode toward their room.
Yu An wrapped her arms around his neck, laughing uncontrollably. "Look how scared you were. It’s not like I’ve neglected you. I’ve been with you this entire time."
Han Li was the only Beast Husband by her side, but even so, she hadn’t been able to satisfy the hungry wolf.
"It’s not enough," Han Li said, unable to wait until they were inside. He held her close and kissed her. "I want to be the only one, forever and ever."
"You greedy, bad..."
The word "wolf" was smothered by Han Li’s kiss. A moment later, Yu An flinched as a chill ran down her back.
"It’s cold... Not here..."
"We’ve never tried it here," Han Li said, his eyes burning with intensity. "An’an, let’s try."
Yu An angrily pinched his waist. ’What’s wrong with our comfortable bed? What’s so great about a door?’
Han Li was being both roguish and wheedling, leaving Yu An with no choice but to give in.
’Oh, well. To be honest, she wanted to try, too. She didn’t think she’d ever done it here with anyone...’
"An’an," Han Li murmured, nuzzling the crook of her neck. "Don’t let your mind wander."
’At a time like this, she wasn’t allowed to think about anyone else. Only him.’
Yu An patted his shoulder reassuringly, her hands sliding up to wrap around his neck. That satisfied Han Li.
Just as he was about to take things further, a dull thud echoed from outside their dimension, and Yu An’s head cleared instantly.
"There’s someone outside," she said, stopping Han Li’s movements. "Wait, let me see who it is."
Han Li mumbled indistinctly, "You look. I’ll just keep going."
’It’s not like we can’t multitask. Why waste time?’
Yu An shot him an exasperated glare and looked outside—
Unbelievable!
’Was she seeing things? She actually saw... Ao Wu!’
Shocked and overjoyed, Yu An quickly pushed at Han Li. "A Li, A Li, it’s Ao Wu!"
"Stop for a second. I need to go out."
Han Li, on the other hand, wasn’t surprised. As soon as they set foot in the Upper Realm, Ao Wu would be able to sniff them out.
He looked at her with a wounded expression. "An’an, can’t you see him later? Is this something we can just... stop?"
Yu An followed his gaze and, well... ’No, I guess not.’
"There, there, A Li," she cooed. "Next time, okay? What if Ao Wu leaves because he can’t find us?"
If Feng Xuan was the most stubborn of the Beast Husbands, then Han Li was the easiest to placate.
With a stern face, he carried her to the bath, then helped her change into a fresh set of clothes.
The outfit from before had been torn.
"Go on, then," Han Li sighed mournfully. "Your heart isn’t here. I can’t keep you even if I try..."
’Why is he acting like some melancholy teenager?’
Yu An sighed and put a hand to her forehead. She tossed him an undergarment and turned to leave the dimension.
Unlike the others, Ao Wu couldn’t sense Yu An’s general location, so he had been guarding Overlord Mountain, terrified he would miss her.
He had come to Earth Geography City to find Fuzai. The little guy had snuck away while his back was turned, leaving a note saying he was going out to find his Female Mother.
Ao Wu had been furious. ’It’s so dangerous out there! What if he runs into bad people?’
He’d rushed out to find him, only to smell a familiar aura in Earth Geography City.
But when he followed the scent to an inn, he couldn’t even find a trace of Han Li, let alone his fragrant, soft, beautiful, and adorable...
"An’an!"
A figure suddenly appeared before him. Ao Wu’s eyes lit up, and he pounced forward.
His pounce sent Yu An stumbling backward. Luckily, the bed was behind her, and she fell right onto it.
"Ao Wu, you..."
Before she could finish, Ao Wu started wailing. His cries were so loud they made Yu An’s chest ache.
"An’an I finally found you I missed you to death you have no idea I’ve been missing you so much I can’t eat I can’t sleep WAAAAH..."
He was venting his emotions freely, but he’d forgotten that the inn walls were thin. In the next room, Mo Yan and her two companions were startled awake.
"Whose tea kettle is boiling over?"
Yu An quickly realized he was disturbing the other guests and hastily dragged him into her dimension.
There was plenty of room in the dimension; he could cry as much as he wanted there.
Ao Wu had thought crying like that would earn him a sweet kiss to shut him up, but instead...
"Go on, cry it all out," Yu An said, patting his shoulder. "I know you’re sad. Don’t worry, this room is soundproof."
Ao Wu was speechless.
’Fine, I’ll make the first move myself.’
Tasting the sweetness he had longed for, every fiber of Ao Wu’s being screamed for more.
The desire that had been interrupted earlier surged back up, and Yu An simply let him have his way.
"Slow down," she said, patting the breathless, slightly dizzy Ao Wu. "Don’t be in such a rush."
"I’m not the one in a hurry. You, on the other hand, seem quite eager, An’an."
Even while holding the woman he’d thought about day and night, Ao Wu still had the presence of mind to tease her.
"An’an, you’ve suffered."
Yu An was confused. "Suffered from what?"
Ao Wu pecked her lips lovingly. "Because we weren’t around, of course. Forcing you to endure all those lonely nights..."
His words came to an abrupt halt when he saw a red mark on her fair skin.
After a long, stunned moment, Ao Wu snapped his head up, his expression more wounded than she had ever seen it.
He had wailed so loudly before without shedding a single tear, but now his eyes were glistening.
"An’an... just tell me. How many new ones are there? I... I can take it..."
