Chapter 316: Divine Spring Water Essence
Earth Geography City truly lived up to its name as the second-largest city in the Upper Realm. Even its walls were twice as high as those of an ordinary city.
Yu An gazed at the city walls that soared into the clouds as she joined the line to enter with the others.
Cutting straight through Earth Geography City was a shorter route than going around. Plus, Han Li had been whispering in her ear, so Yu An decided to have a look around the city.
"An’an, there’s no rush. If we travel day and night only to arrive before they’ve figured out a way to escape, wouldn’t we just be waiting around?"
Han Li muttered, "Besides, they have sharp noses. Once they get out, they’ll just follow the scent to find you."
"Listen to you," Yu An said, pinching his well-maintained cheek. "Whose nose could possibly be as sharp as yours?"
"It feels really nice. You’ve been having Lu Lu give you a lot of face masks recently, haven’t you?"
Han Li sidled over with a grin. "If it feels good, then feel free to touch it more. I’m very generous."
The corner of Yu An’s mouth twitched, but she ignored him.
’So improper, out here in public!’
Standing behind them, Mo Yan could hardly suppress a smile as she watched their interaction.
Han Fengyun and Han Xiaoyun wore identical, thoughtful expressions.
’Their son’s face did look much smoother and fairer. Maybe they should try some face masks too?’
Tian Shu had been taken into her space to prevent him from running into any acquaintances. They had arrived early, so they were near the front of the line after only a short wait.
Earth Geography City had a rule: those who entered and left on the same day did not need to pay a city entry fee. However, a fee was required for those staying overnight or for an extended period.
The guards would issue a small token to each person. Anyone without a token would be expelled from the city.
Yu An paid the fee for their group, and they entered the city.
The city was even livelier than she had imagined. Yu An browsed casually, buying lots of things with Mo Yan.
Luckily, they had three men with them. The two women shopped and shopped at the front, while the three men followed behind, paying, carrying bags, and acting as bodyguards.
The moment anyone with ill intentions got too close, three murderous glares would lock onto them.
A few petty thieves who wanted to take advantage of the crowd and steal some money were scared frozen by the ferocious glares.
Yu An silently retracted her superpower, and Mo Yan put away her poisoned dagger. They then continued shopping as if nothing had happened.
She remembered that Tongtong’s family lived in Earth Geography City. She even knew their address and considered going to see if they had returned.
There were no bodies from their squad near the Blood Array. On the bright side, this meant the passage they took might not have led there.
But on the downside, they might have already been converted into Blood Crystals by the Blood Array.
At this thought, Yu An lost her enthusiasm for shopping. She was also quite tired from all the walking, so she asked around, planning to find an inn to rest for the night.
The largest inn in Earth Geography City, named "Keyunlai," was not far away. When they reached the entrance, Yu An saw a large crowd gathered there.
Han Li stood on his tiptoes to get a look, but unfortunately, there were too many people clustered together, and he couldn’t see a thing.
He shoved the things in his hands at his two fathers. "An’an, you guys go to the inn first. I’m going to see what’s going on up ahead."
Han Li was full of excitement. Yu An waved her hand, telling him to go and come back quickly.
As soon as they entered the inn, a waiter came to greet them. "Esteemed guests, please come in. Are you here to stay the night or..."
"Two superior rooms, and a table of your house specialties."
The group looked like they weren’t short on money. The waiter acknowledged the order and led them to a table by the window.
They ate while waiting for Han Li to return. A short while later, Han Li came in holding a piece of paper.
"An’an, look," he said, pointing to a spot on the paper. "The Yu Family is offering a high-priced reward for Divine Spring Water from the Heaven and Earth Illusion Realm. I saw lots of people getting ready to go to the Heaven and Earth Illusion Realm to try their luck."
As he spoke, the table next to them was also discussing the matter.
Some wanted to join in on the excitement, while others felt that it was a legendary item that no one had ever seen. It might not even exist.
Not only would it be a wasted trip, but the Heaven and Earth Illusion Realm was fraught with danger. One wrong move, and you could lose your life there.
Only Yu An and her group knew that the Divine Spring Water did indeed exist. And it was right inside Yu An’s space.
Yu An couldn’t help but think about the origin of the Divine Spring. It had sought her out on its own. Could it be that it found her aura familiar?
"Probably," Han Li said in a low voice, shelling melon seeds. "The Divine Spring used to play with you a lot. After you left for your training, it disappeared."
"The Heaven and Earth Stone didn’t know where it went either and even had people search for it. But they never found it, so the matter was eventually dropped."
The moment Han Li finished speaking, Yu An saw the Divine Spring in her space begin to transform. It changed from a pool of water into... a piece of Jelly.
It looked exactly the same as the one she had seen in Quan City on the Beastman Continent. It had a nose and eyes and was rubbing its eyes with its little hands, looking like it had just woken up.
The Zaizai, who were cultivating in the space, noticed it and ran over one by one.
"What is this?"
Xiao Yu, being the bold one, reached out and poked the Jelly. It was cool and slippery.
Da Hu pondered, "It looks like the jelly Female Mother used to make. But why does it have a nose, eyes, and a mouth?"
Little Wolf let out a yelp. "AWOO!" he exclaimed in surprise. "Could it be a jelly that’s become a spirit? I wonder what a spirit jelly tastes like."
As he spoke, Da Hu and Little Serpent had already taken a bite. They both got a mouthful of water.
"It’s not jelly," Little Serpent pouted. "It tastes like Divine Spring Water."
Da Hu nodded repeatedly, slumping onto his little brother Little Serpent’s shoulder. "It’s not a jelly spirit either. Let’s disperse, let’s disperse."
Yu An: "..."
’These little guys are way too bold, daring to eat anything!’
The main hall was crowded with too many prying eyes. Yu An decided to take Jelly out only after they returned to their room.
While they were eating, inside the space, Little Stone sensed a familiar aura and instantly couldn’t sit still.
It was its Divine Spring Water!
The Divine Spring Water that had become a spirit!
’Finally, finally, it’s awake!’
Little Stone loved to soak in the spirit-form Divine Spring Water, but ever since Yu An left for her training, the Divine Spring Water Essence had ignored it, and later, it disappeared completely.
It couldn’t remember how long it had been since its last soak. It eagerly ran over, wanting to immerse itself in the water.
However, Jelly refused. It dove into the Nirvana Fruit Tree and vanished without a trace.
Little Stone: "..."
When Yu An entered the space, Jelly immediately reappeared, bouncing cheerfully in her palm.
Little Stone wanted to go over but ultimately didn’t dare. It dejectedly hid in a corner, figuring ’out of sight, out of mind’.
Yu An poked it. "You’re Jelly?"
That was right. The Divine Spring Water Essence was named "Jelly," a name she had given it.
Jelly nodded vigorously, refusing to get off her hand.
When Han Li tried to touch it, it refused to let him. Its flexible body twisted into all sorts of shapes, doing anything to avoid his touch.
"An’an," Han Li whined pitifully, "look at it~"
Jelly blinked its big eyes and wriggled its body coquettishly.
Yu An swatted Han Li away. "Shoo, shoo. If it doesn’t want you to touch it, then don’t."
Han Li: "..."
It wouldn’t let him touch it, but Yu An and the Zaizai could touch it all they wanted. He sulked off to a corner.
And there, he came face to face with the reclusive Little Stone, and they just stared at each other blankly.
