Chapter 45: Cafeteria Conflict, Yang Qiniang in Trouble?
After leaving Patek Philippe.
Lin Feng and Su Ruoxi walked hand in hand, wandering aimlessly down the street.
"Ruoxi, is there anywhere else you want to go?"
Lin Feng glanced at the time. It was just after five in the afternoon.
It was too early for dinner, but a little too late to go do something else.
Lin Feng was a bit conflicted.
"I don’t know either."
"But just being able to walk around with you is enough to make me happy."
Su Ruoxi said with a smile, her face radiant with happiness.
Her family background had rarely given her the chance to spend time like this with someone who loved her.
"Alright..."
"I’ll ask Brother Nian and the guys if they have any recommendations."
Lin Feng and Su Ruoxi weren’t familiar with Yang City.
But Yang Qiniang was.
As a rich kid from Yang City, he definitely knew more about the place than the two of them.
However, when Lin Feng called, the first call went unanswered. The second one connected.
As soon as the call connected,
Lin Feng heard a cacophony of noise from the other end.
"The hell are you talking about?!"
"You little punk, if you’re here to eat, then eat! Why are you acting like a hoodlum?"
"What did I do? You wanna fight?! Bring it on! You think I’m scared of you?!"
The voices on the other end were a chaotic mess.
But Lin Feng could still make out the sounds of an argument.
One of the voices sounded like it belonged to Jiang Chao.
"Hey, Brother Feng, what’s up?"
Yang Qiniang’s voice came through the phone.
"What’s going on over there?"
"It sounds like you guys are about to get into a fight."
Lin Feng asked with a frown.
"Don’t even ask. We were eating at the school cafeteria and ran into a couple of little bastards."
"They ordered Sichuan food and then insisted it was too spicy and wanted to return it."
"Song Yaqi said they couldn’t, and then they started cursing her out."
"Old Jiang, Old Cao, and I just happened to come to the cafeteria to eat."
"When Old Jiang heard that, he couldn’t hold back."
Yang Qiniang’s brief explanation gave Lin Feng a clear picture of what was happening.
"You’re in the cafeteria right now, right?"
"Don’t start anything yet. Wait for me to get back."
’Good, things haven’t escalated yet. As long as no one throws a punch, it’s all manageable.’
After saying that, Lin Feng hung up.
He turned to look at Su Ruoxi.
Su Ruoxi had also heard what Yang Qiniang said and spoke up immediately. "Let’s head back to school. We’ll have plenty of other opportunities to go out."
Lin Feng nodded.
At a time like this, he was in no mood to continue strolling around with Su Ruoxi.
He immediately hailed a car and headed for Yang City University.
Luckily, it wasn’t evening rush hour yet.
There was no traffic along the way.
Even so, it was still half an hour later by the time they got back to school.
"Ruoxi, you should head back to the dorm first. I’ll call you after I handle things here."
Lin Feng said to Su Ruoxi after they entered the campus gates.
But Su Ruoxi didn’t want to go back to her dorm.
She linked her arm through Lin Feng’s.
"No, I’ll go with you."
"Be good. If you come with me, I’ll be distracted worrying about you. Don’t worry, I promise I won’t fight."
Lin Feng was in a hurry now. He had tried calling Yang Qiniang again from the car.
But Yang Qiniang didn’t pick up.
He had no idea what the situation was over there.
"O... Okay."
Seeing Lin Feng so insistent, Su Ruoxi could only nod.
"Then you be careful."
"I’ll go back to my dorm. Remember to call me later."
Su Ruoxi didn’t insist, but she kept looking back as she left.
...
After seeing Su Ruoxi off,
Lin Feng hurried toward the cafeteria, trying to call Yang Qiniang on the way, but still couldn’t get through.
「Five minutes later.」
When Lin Feng arrived, the cafeteria was crowded.
Many had come to eat but were now too busy watching the commotion to remember their food.
But watching was one thing.
It was best to do so from a distance. If you got too close and were dragged into it, that would be a true disaster out of nowhere.
Because of this,
no one was crowded around Yang Qiniang and his friends.
Lin Feng spotted them the moment he came up the stairs. It looked like the argument was pretty intense.
But thankfully, no one was fighting.
’As long as no punches have been thrown, everything is manageable.’
Perhaps because it hadn’t come to blows, even though their argument was fierce,
no one had stepped in to stop them.
"Brother Nian."
"What’s the situation?"
Lin Feng walked over and called out to Yang Qiniang.
Yang Qiniang and the others all turned to look.
"Brother Feng, you’re here!"
Lin Feng nodded.
Cao Ming and Jiang Chao also looked at Lin Feng. The friends exchanged a glance but said nothing.
"These little punks can’t even eat a meal properly."
"When they couldn’t return the food, they started smashing plates."
Lin Feng glanced at the group across from them.
Sure enough, several plates were overturned on the table.
Food was splattered on the floor.
Two plates were even smashed to pieces.
The area was a complete mess.
Song Yaqi was standing next to Jiang Chao.
But at the moment, Song Yaqi looked a little dazed.
"Punk, who the hell are you calling a little punk?!"
As soon as Yang Qiniang finished speaking, one of the guys on the other side blew up.
He pointed at Yang Qiniang and started cursing.
"Shut up!"
Hearing this, Lin Feng frowned at the guy and barked out the order.
To be honest, Lin Feng’s height of over 1.8 meters was quite intimidating.
At the very least, whatever the guy had been about to say died in his throat after Lin Feng yelled at him.
After all, since no punches had been thrown, both sides were still showing some restraint.
If a real fight had broken out, the guy probably wouldn’t have shut up.
"You guys can’t even eat a meal in peace. If you don’t want spicy Sichuan food, then what the hell are you ordering Sichuan food for?"
After his tirade, Lin Feng turned back to Yang Qiniang.
"Is everyone okay?"
Yang Qiniang shook his head, then glanced at Song Yaqi.
"Song Yaqi was pushed."
"Everyone else is fine."
’Song Yaqi was pushed?’
Lin Feng looked at Song Yaqi.
Just then, Song Yaqi looked over at him too.
"I’m fine, Student Lin Feng. You guys should go. I need to clean this up, or my boss will yell at me when he sees it."
It was clear that Song Yaqi didn’t want to escalate the situation.
Especially after Lin Feng had arrived.
Yang Qiniang and his friends had just happened to stumble upon it.
That was why things had turned out this way.
If Lin Feng also got involved, things would only get more troublesome.
Previously, Lin Feng and his friends had come here to eat almost every day.
Over time, they had developed a pretty good relationship with Song Yaqi.
Lin Feng didn’t say anything in response, simply nodding.
Then he turned to the group across from them.
There were four of them. They had slightly dark skin and were probably first-year students from the same dorm.
Around the same age as Lin Feng and his group.
"Pay for the damages, then apologize."
"On what grounds?!"
"Damn it, the food is so spicy! Didn’t you know I can’t eat spicy food?!"
’This could have all been settled with an apology and a bit of money.’
’Why is it so complicated with this bunch?’
But then again, it made sense.
If these guys were that reasonable,
they wouldn’t have said something as ridiculous as asking why Sichuan food was so spicy in the first place.
