Chapter 83: Wiped Out Completely
Just as the Captains were gloating, a giant monster was the first to approach the shore where Oliver and the others were located.
Since Oliver was trapped on the deep-sea fishing boat, only Robin and Tom were left on the shore to command the fight.
Facing the enormous enemy, they chose not to combine.
Because even if they did, they wouldn’t be able to stop the giant creature.
Instead, it was better to use their command and leadership skills—after all, the Captains present were more willing to follow their orders.
"Everyone, get into the bunker!"
"All RPG Launchers, get into position!"
"Wait for it to get close, then focus fire on its head!"
Orders were issued one after another.
The Captain and their crew members grabbed ammunition and RPG Launchers.
As the giant monster slowly came closer, they could finally see what it looked like.
It was a huge mantis shrimp.
Hundreds of pairs of claws waved like scythes, and even the air around them rippled from the sharpness.
But what terrified them the most were its eyes—like two searchlights.
On each eye, there was a face: one of a man, one of a woman.
One was smiling.
One was crying.
When the crew saw those two faces, they covered their eyes in pain.
Bloody tears dripped through their fingers, and the sharp pain made them fall to the ground, screaming.

The rapidly dropping Sanity instantly shattered the crew’s mental strength.
Some of the weaker-willed crew members began to grow lumps of flesh all over their bodies.
Seeing this, Robin shouted: "Don’t look at its eyes! And tie those guys up — they’re done for."
By the time Robin finished giving the order, the few Survivors who had looked at the giant monster’s eyes had already lost their human appearance.
In just a few dozen seconds, they were covered in horrible, twisted growths.
Their teeth became sharp, their mouths pushed forward, their eyes grew bigger and bigger, and their bodies were covered in either lumps or scales.
Soon, these Survivors lost all human features.
Their teammates tried to message them through private channels, but the only response was that the system had revoked their access.
At that moment, a chill ran through every Survivor’s heart.
A strong sense of helplessness filled everyone.
Robin saw this and knew he couldn’t let everyone stay down. So he clenched his teeth and shouted sternly, "Damn it! Now — right now, this instant — open fire! Blow its head off!"
The Survivors didn’t even have time to aim. They raised their RPG Launchers.
One rocket after another shot into the sky, trailing red flames.
Then came a series of loud explosions. Dozens of fireballs burst, leaving scorched black marks on the giant mantis shrimp’s body.
And under each scorched mark, cracks appeared.
"It’s working! We can break through its defense!" Robin yelled excitedly. "Keep firing!"
But before he could finish, the giant mantis shrimp let out a furious roar.
The deafening sound waves almost shattered the Survivors’ eardrums. They covered their ears and screamed in pain, blood streaming from their ears and the corners of their eyes.

With just one roar, more than half of the Survivors on the shore lost consciousness.
They had no sanity left. They went completely crazy, tearing at everything around them.
Some Survivors even turned their launchers around and fired rockets at their own teammates.
Within just ten seconds, all three bunkers that Robin, Tom, and the others had built collapsed completely.
The only ones who could still keep their sanity were Robin, Tom, Kamiza Saki, and two other Captains.
But even they were all wounded.
To resist that last roar, they had pierced their own eardrums, which allowed them to withstand the mantis shrimp’s mental attack.
Now that they had lost their hearing, they could only communicate through the system’s private chat channel.
"Everyone, we might die here. Before we go, Tom and I are going to give it everything we’ve got." Robin took Tom’s hand, and they shared a deep kiss.
Then the two of them combined and transformed into their super state.
They grabbed the two sharpest blades on the battlefield, kicked off the ground, and shot toward the giant mantis shrimp like artillery shells.
Kamiza Saki closed his eyes and said coldly: "Now it’s time for me to show the spirit of Bushido. Just give me cover and buy me time to strike."
The two other Captains saw the message and nodded.
They picked up their RPG Launchers and fired all the rockets they had left.
"Captain Kamiza Saki, this is all we can do. It’s up to you now." After sending the message, the two Captains each pulled out a grenade and pulled the pins.
But just before the grenades went off, they suddenly noticed that Kamiza Saki, who had promised to show the spirit of Bushido, was running up the mountain.
"What the hell! You coward!"
Boom! Boom!
Before they could finish their words, two explosions drowned out their voices and took their lives.
Meanwhile, Richard and Derek were hiding in a cave at the top of the mountain, watching everything unfold. A chill ran down their spines.
Through Dewayne’s spying Talent, they saw with their own eyes how Robin and Tom’s combined super form was torn apart by the giant mantis shrimp and stuffed into its mouth as food.
The sight stirred up fear in everyone’s hearts. The Captains all felt relieved that they hadn’t stayed at the camp by the shore.
"Captain Richard, Captain Derek, your decision was the right one."
"You’re right, if we had stayed on the shore, we would probably be dead under that monster’s hands by now."
"That’s not a monster anymore. That’s a god. That’s a demon. How can something so terrifying even exist in this world?"
"Captain Oliver’s team has been wiped out. Raphael’s side probably can’t hold out much longer either. Once the Two-Masted Sloop falls, can we really stay safe hiding in this cave?"
The moment that question was asked, everyone fell into silence.
Suddenly, an alarm went off.
Derek frowned and immediately told Dewayne to switch the view to the mountainside.
Right now, Kamiza Saki was running up the mountain like a scared dog.
He had triggered three traps along the way, but luckily, because he was strong, none of them had seriously injured him.
Seeing this, Derek took a sharp breath. "I really underestimated this guy. He’s clearly this strong, and yet he ran away like a coward."
Richard narrowed his eyes. His voice was cold. "Someone like that is no good to us. Should we kill him?"
Derek shook his head. "No. Not only should we keep him alive, we should work with him."
"Why?" Richard stood up straight, confused.
Derek smiled and patted Richard on the belly. "Relax. I know you don’t respect him. Neither do I. But a guy like this — ambitious and shameless — he’s perfect as a tool for us. After all, we’re people with status. Some dirty business isn’t convenient for us to handle ourselves."
Derek sent a message directly to Kamiza Saki: "Kamiza, stop moving up the mountain. The area ahead is full of landmines. If you want to survive, you need to pay us a loyalty fee to earn our trust."
Kamiza Saki saw Derek’s message and stopped in his tracks. He didn’t reply right away.
Derek could tell Kamiza Saki was hesitating. He smiled and sent a second message: "Don’t doubt me. I have cameras set up all over this island. Do you want me to spread the video of you running away from the fight?"
Kamiza Saki’s eyes widened. He quickly replied, "What do you want?"
Derek grinned. "I want you to do us a favor. In return, I’ll let you join us and become our ally."
Meanwhile, after dealing with Robin and Tom, the giant mantis shrimp completely destroyed the beach they had been on.
It let out a roar and quickly crawled toward the three bunkers nearby.
With its claws swinging, it dug out the bodies of the Survivors buried under the rubble.
The monster tore the bodies apart one by one and slowly stuffed them into its mouth, just like it had done with Robin and the others.
Not far away, Fatoumata Tower and a few other Captains were watching the giant mantis shrimp feed through their binoculars. They were completely terrified.
Fatoumata Tower’s legs were shaking. Her voice trembled as she said, "Where is Captain Raphael? Why isn’t she back yet? How are we supposed to fight a monster like this?"
One of the Captains spoke up: "Maybe we should go back up the mountain. Didn’t Captain Richard promise that if we did a good job as spies, he would take us in later?"
Fatoumata Tower let out a bitter laugh. "Do you really think Richard and the others will still let us up the mountain after seeing how powerful that monster is? Right now, the path up the mountain is probably already full of landmines."
"Damn it!" One of the Captains punched the ground in anger, sending sand flying everywhere.
Fatoumata Tower brushed her dreadlocks back and said firmly, "We can’t just sit here and wait to die. Staying here means death. Let’s go to the Two-Masted Sloop and meet up with Captain Nova and Ms. Celula. Right now, with such a powerful enemy in front of us, they’ll need our fighting strength too."
The Captains all nodded, picked up their weapons, and got ready to move toward the beach where the Two-Masted Sloop was anchored.
But just a few steps in, the ground beneath their feet suddenly began to shake.
