Chapter 96: Body Enchant
Bella nodded.
Seeing this, Joseph reminded her, "Stephanie is on Kevin’s ship. Are you sure she’ll tell us the truth?"
Bella smiled. "My little sister would never miss a chance to show off in front of me."
She sent a private message to Stephanie: "Hey sis, last night’s storm was horrible. Are you okay?"
On the two-masted sloop, Stephanie locked herself in the storage room, looking miserable. "Wah! Why is everyone so strong? At this rate, I’m just going to be a burden."
Stephanie knew that once she lost her value, Kevin would have no problem throwing her away.
Thinking about this, Kevin’s words suddenly popped into her head: "Your greatest value is helping me find Bella."
Why was Kevin so desperate to find her sister?
Hadn’t they already fallen out?
Before the Eldritch showed up, Kevin even maxed out her sister’s credit card.
As she thought about it, Stephanie’s eyes lit up more and more. "That’s it. That has to be it."
"Kevin doesn’t want to find my sister to make up with her. He wants revenge."
Stephanie quickly came up with a plan.
She opened her private chat and saw Bella’s message. She replied, "We’re fine, sis. Let me tell you, Kevin is amazing. He single-handedly killed three Eldritch giants."
When Bella saw Stephanie’s reply, her eyes flickered. "Really?"
Worried that Bella wouldn’t believe her, Stephanie pushed open the door, walked onto the deck, and took a photo of the three Eldritch giant corpses lying on the beach.
When Bella saw the picture of the three corpses that Stephanie sent, her eyes went wide.
She took a deep breath and then forwarded the picture to Joseph. "Looks like Keston was right. At least those three Eldritch giants were killed by Kevin and his team together."
Justin kicked over a wooden box next to him and shouted angrily, "That’s impossible! Even I can’t beat monsters like that. What makes Kevin so special?"
Keston gave Justin a dirty look. "Arrogant fool."
That insult pushed Justin over the edge.
He rolled up his sleeves and lunged straight at Keston.
Within seconds, the two of them were wrestling on the ground, and nobody could pull them apart.
Joseph let out a sigh. "Let them fight. They’ll stop when they get tired."
Bella nodded. "It’s not like anyone’s going to die. Let’s focus on figuring out how to handle the situation from here."
Joseph thought for a moment, then said coldly, "Bella, I’m warning you. Don’t get any funny ideas. We can’t allow such a powerful force to exist on the terrifying sea."
Bella opened her mouth, then turned to look at the group of high priests who were performing the ceremony. She said seriously, "Joseph, I’m carrying your child, and you still don’t trust me?"
Joseph gave an awkward smile. "I was just joking. It’s because I love you so much. I’m afraid you’ll go back to Kevin."
Bella rolled her eyes at Joseph and didn’t say anything more.
Just then, a notification sound went off. She opened her messages and saw that Stephanie had sent her three bottles of pills.
"What’s this?"
Stephanie quickly replied, "Sis, there might not be any ranking rewards for the next few days. You probably don’t have enough food, right?"
"Here, I’m sending you three bottles of multivitamins. They’ll keep you and the others from getting malnourished. It’s a little gift from me. Please take care of yourself and the baby."
Bella took out the three bottles and frowned.
Is my sister really this kind?
Even though she had doubts, Bella still sent a polite thank-you message.
On the two-masted sloop, Stephanie let out a cold laugh. "Sorry, sis. I just love Kevin too much."
On the other side, Kevin and the twin sisters had already arrived at the kitchen early.
Right now, Luna, Amelia, Nova, and a few other girls were looking at the three of them with amused expressions.
"Celula, Monchhichi, what happened to your legs? Why are you walking so strangely?" Raphael asked the twin sisters with a confused look.
"It’s a bit stuffy in here. I’ll eat outside." Toti coughed a couple of times, picked up his food, and walked straight out the door.
Celula and Monchhichi blushed hard, shot Raphael a dirty look, and said in unison, "Your turn will come sooner or later."
The cute but annoyed look on the twin sisters’ faces made everyone laugh.
Kevin looked around at the girls at the table and smiled. "We have ten days to rest and prepare. During this time, we need to get ready for the next voyage."
Amelia stopped joking and said seriously, "We need to get stronger. Next time we face those giant monsters, we want to help you fight too."
Kevin nodded. "Of course. I’ll do everything I can to help you all get stronger."
Kevin meant what he said.
The biggest gain this time was actually the "Source of Talent" that dropped from the three Eldritch giants.
If the girls could kill the monsters themselves in the future, Kevin would get even more rewards in return.
For the next half a day, Kevin and the others spent all their time collecting the loot from the island.
Besides the Eldritch Entity corpses on their own beach, they also went to the areas where Oliver’s fleet and Raphael’s fleet had been to clean up the battlefield.
In the end, they found over twenty different types of Eldritch Entities, with more than seven thousand corpses in total.
And that wasn’t even counting the three Eldritch giant corpses lying next to the two-masted sloop.
Kevin looked at all the bodies and sighed. "There are so many kinds of monsters. I don’t even know what some of these corpses are good for."
Luna stepped forward. "Leave them all to me. I can soak them in the Holy Spring bit by bit and run some experiments."
When Kevin heard Luna’s idea, he frowned. "The Holy Spring can weaken the side effects of these organs, but trying to figure out all their uses in a short time is really dangerous."
Luna stuck out her tongue and grinned. "That’s why I have you, right?"
Kevin’s eyes went wide. "You want me to be your test subject?"
Luna leaned in close to Kevin and licked his lips. "What’s wrong? Not willing? I’ll personally feed you with my mouth, you know."
Kevin poked Luna’s forehead and agreed to her request.
If there was anyone who could drink the Holy Spring soaked with all these Eldritch Entity corpses without getting hurt, it was Kevin.
Even though the process would be disgusting, Kevin thought it was worth it if Luna could develop over twenty kinds of magic potions that could help Survivors gain temporary skills.
After all, the two potions Kevin had created so far were already amazing.
And once covenant-bearers drank those potions, Kevin would get double the skill rewards in return.
On this terrifying sea, sometimes strength alone couldn’t solve everything. Keeping your skills as diverse as possible was the only way to stay unbeatable.
That was a lesson Kevin had learned with his life in his past life.
Thinking about this, Kevin waved his hand and gave Luna all the Holy Spring he had made over the past few days. "Let Nova help you out. She needs to absorb the negative energy coming off these Eldritch Entity corpses anyway."
Kevin summoned five Normal Fish Fiends and had them help Luna and Nova clean up the bodies.
These days, Kevin was strong enough to keep the Fish Fiends under control for a full day without them rebelling, so he had basically turned them into free labor. And the best part? He could kill them before the time was up, without paying them or feeding them lunch or dinner.
Then Kevin noticed Amelia staring at him. He asked, confused, "What’s on your mind?"
Amelia nodded. "I thought of a way to develop my Enchantment Talent. But it’s risky, and I need you to watch over me."
Kevin frowned. "What do you want to do?"
Amelia walked over to an empty space.
She unbuttoned her shirt, revealing her perfect chest. "My Enchantment Talent has now advanced to the second level, ’Rune Master.’ Even though the runes I carve are very powerful, I can only carve ten items a day. That limit keeps me from using my full combat power."
She paused and showed a determined look. "So I want to try something. Besides bullets, equipment, and weapons, I want to see if there’s another place I can carve runes."
Amelia’s chest suddenly lit up with an indigo magical pattern.
The pattern was unusually clear, radiating a holy glow.
"This is the [Greater Purify] rune." Kevin stared at the pattern on Amelia’s chest, his voice trembling slightly. "You carved the rune on your own body?"
Amelia nodded. "This should be the rune with the least side effects. Please help me test it and see how powerful it really is."
Kevin took a deep breath. He never expected Amelia to use her own body as an experiment.
Then, Kevin summoned two Serpent Form Mist Phantoms and said in a low voice, "We tested before, and your ’Greater Purify’ rune was able to block the mental erosion of two Elite-level Mist Phantoms at the same time. Try it again now."
Kevin ordered the two Serpent Form Mist Phantoms to turn into blood-colored mist and drill into Amelia’s eyes.
Under the soul erosion of the two Mist Phantoms, a thick blood-red aura spread over Amelia’s body.
Her pupils flickered — turning black, then red, then gold.
But soon, a holy glow appeared on Amelia.
The indigo purification energy quickly flowed through every corner of her body.
The two Serpent Form Mist Phantoms that were trying to invade the core of Amelia’s soul were directly forced out of her body by this energy.
Seeing this, Kevin stopped the Serpent Form Mist Phantoms from trying to invade Amelia’s soul again.
Kevin was very satisfied with the result.
However, compared to enchanting runes on objects, Amelia carving a rune on her own body had clear advantages and disadvantages.
The advantage was that Amelia’s rune didn’t completely break down after just expelling the two Serpent Form Mist Phantoms.
