Chapter 131: Swearing Like a Sailor
Thinking about how Nova would one day lead an army of Eldritch Entities across the terrifying ocean, Kevin couldn’t help but burst out laughing.
But as his laughter spread across the sea, the waves suddenly churned and swelled.
The Survivors on the surrounding decks saw this and looked around in fear.
Even the hundreds of Eldritch Entities gathered beneath the Dragon Form Mist Phantom seemed to panic.
Then-
Whoosh! Splash!
Loud splashing sounds came from all directions.
To the Survivors’ shock, groups of Eldritch Entities were rushing together at an alarming speed.
Five hundred...
A thousand...
Two thousand...
In the end, a full five thousand Eldritch Entities had gathered beneath the Dragon Form Mist Phantom.
That many could easily wipe out the Survivors on those four ships ten times over.
The Survivors were frozen like scared chickens, not daring to make a single sound.
The four Captains were frantically warning everyone in the system chat not to attack those Eldritch Entities.
They knew deep down that if they provoked that army of Eldritch Entities, they and their ships would be crushed into dust in an instant.
One Captain swallowed hard and opened his mouth to speak.
Before he could make a sound, another Captain quickly covered his mouth, giving him a stern warning look.
Meanwhile, Kevin stood in midair, staring in shock at what he had done.
Did I really summon that many Eldritch Entities?
But how do I control them?
Do I have to sing to them like Nova does?
No way. I’m for hire, not for show.
Thinking about this, Kevin cleared his throat twice and looked down at the group of Eldritch Entities below him. "All of you, line up, dammit!"
As soon as he said it, the Eldritch Entities actually stood in perfect formation.
Kevin frowned. "Loosen up a bit."
But those words went over the Eldritch Entities’ heads like a foreign language. They had no idea what he meant. The group quickly fell into disarray.
Kevin gritted his teeth in frustration. "You sons of bitches! Get back in line!"
The moment he said that, the Eldritch Entities snapped right back into formation.
Kevin stared wide-eyed at what he had just done.
He suddenly realized he had found the key to controlling these creatures.
Nova watched in disbelief. "Why do I have to sing to them, but all you have to do is yell at them?"
Kevin shrugged. "Maybe because I summoned so many of them. They don’t listen unless I curse them out."
Nova rolled her eyes. "Yeah, right. As if I’d believe that."
Just then, Monchhichi stepped forward with a frown. "You two have pretty much gathered all the Eldritch Entities in the area. So what now? Kill them or let them go?"
Kevin rubbed his chin. "Not so fast. Let’s shake them down first."
"Shake them down?" Celula’s eyes lit up with excitement. She rubbed her hands together eagerly. "Let me do it this time!"
Kevin pinched her cheek. "Easy there, little girl. I don’t want to turn you into a mob boss."
Kevin turned around and rose into the air in one smooth motion.
This time, he didn’t bring the Dragon Form Mist Phantom down with him. He landed alone on the deck of the four ships, stepping off his Wheels of Flame & Wind.
The Survivors gasped when they saw Kevin floating in midair like a god. As he got closer, they kept backing away.
Only when he finally set foot on the deck did they stop.
Captain Solomon swallowed his fear and stepped forward cautiously. "Mr. Kevin, we were just having a party. We didn’t mean any harm to you or your companions."
Kevin couldn’t care less about that kind of excuse anymore.
He picked at his ear and said calmly, "Oh, really? Since you say you weren’t targeting us, I’m sure you’ll be willing to pay something to clear up this misunderstanding."
Captain Solomon nodded eagerly. "Yes, yes, it’s all a misunderstanding. To show our sincerity, we’re willing to offer ten Eldritch Artifacts."
Kevin didn’t even look at him. He just smirked and said coldly, "Ten Eldritch Artifacts? That’s not even enough to cover our travel expenses."
Captain Solomon’s voice trembled. "Then... how many do you want?"
Kevin grinned. "Every Survivor here hands over two items of C-Tier or above. Artifacts, equipment, weapons - doesn’t matter."
Captain Solomon’s eyes went wide. He said carefully, "We might not have that many items above C-Tier. Could we make it just one item per person?"
Kevin sensed the items on the Survivors’ belts.
Solomon was clearly trying to bargain.
This guy really valued his life less than his loot.
Kevin chuckled. "Fine. Have them put all their items down in front of me."
Solomon breathed a sigh of relief. Soon, the Survivors, under the orders of their Captains, started handing over their items.
Even if some were reluctant, the Captains scolded them on the spot, and they bit their lips and gave up their treasures.
Kevin looked at the pile of loot in front of him, smiled, and waved his hand. "Don’t just stand there like idiots. Come over and carry this stuff."
The moment he gave the order, the Eldritch Entities standing nearby all turned to look at the four ships.
They looked fierce and ugly, with some of them dripping strange fluids. They let out a few roars and charged toward the ships.
A dark, endless wave rushed forward - thousands of them in an instant.
The Survivors on the deck were completely stunned.
"Oh my god! What is he doing?"
"Look! Those Eldritch Entities are coming! They’re not going to eat us, are they?"
"Should we fight them?"
"Don’t fight! Are you stupid? You want to die that badly?"
As the Survivors were trembling with fear, the Eldritch Entities had already reached the four ships. Seeing how many of them had come, Kevin frowned. "You idiots! Do you need that many people just to carry some stuff? Just send a few with quick hands. Hurry up and load the goods."
Kevin summoned a fleet of drones, each one hanging a rope underneath.
The Eldritch Entities tied the treasures to the ropes and let the drones lift them into the air. The drones carried the loot to the back of the Dragon Form Mist Phantom, where the girls sorted it out.
Only when the last item was lifted into the air did Kevin clap his hands and turn to Captain Solomon. "Thanks. That’s it for today. We’re leaving."
Kevin turned and rose into the air. The Wheels of Flame & Wind beneath his feet spun like a fiery tornado, carrying him up to the back of the Dragon Form Mist Phantom.
A dragon roar echoed through the sky.
With the girls aboard, Kevin flew off into the distance on the Dragon Form Mist Phantom.
Captain Solomon let out a sigh of relief.
But then a Survivor grabbed his arm. "Captain! What about these Eldritch Entities? Kevin’s gone, but they’re still here!"
Captain Solomon froze. Damn it. Kevin set us up.
They had paid one C-Tier item each just to send Kevin away, but these Eldritch Entities were still right there.
Once Kevin was far enough away and lost control of them, these Survivors would be finished.
Thinking about that, Captain Solomon panicked.
He didn’t care that the Eldritch Entities were standing right on the deck. He rushed to the bow of the ship, jumped up and down, and shouted at Kevin’s figure in the distant sky. "I was wrong! Mr. Kevin! Please, come back! We’re willing to hand over extra treasures! We’ll pay double!"
Up in the air, Kevin hadn’t actually planned on going far.
He circled the Dragon Form Mist Phantom around and came right back above the four ships.
"You don’t need to pay double. Just one more C-Tier item per person. I’m a fair guy." Kevin said it with a straight face, like he was stating a simple fact.
But to the Survivors below, his words sounded like something straight out of a nightmare.
Gritting their teeth, they handed over the few C-Tier items they had left. No one hesitated this time. Who dared not to pay? They’d die.
No joke - there were now five thousand Eldritch Entities surrounding the four ships, and over a hundred of them had already climbed onto the decks.
If those creatures suddenly attacked, a third of the Survivors would be dead in an instant.
In the end, Kevin collected nearly a hundred C-Tier items from the Survivors on those four ships. After the girls’ reward multipliers kicked in, the number of C-Tier items stored in Kevin’s system space soared to over thirteen hundred.
If he traded all of them to Lilith, that would be enough to exchange for sixteen A-Tier items.
With what he’d already gathered, Kevin was pretty sure that the next time he saw Lilith, he could demand she kneel and serve him like a maid.
"That’s enough. If we keep robbing other Survivor groups, we might stir up too much trouble." Monchhichi stood beside Kevin and warned him quietly.
Amelia and Luna nodded in agreement, urging Kevin to stop the next round of looting.
Kevin nodded. "Yeah, there’s no need to rob other Survivors anymore."
Of course, it wasn’t because he was afraid of making enemies. It was just that, from now on, with endless Eldritch Entities to kill, he didn’t need to steal from other groups.
After all, both Kevin and Nova could summon thousands of Eldritch Entities just by opening their mouths. They didn’t need other fleets to lure in monsters for them to hunt.
Kevin looked down at the sea. The Eldritch Entities that had followed him from the ships were still trailing behind.
He had flown dozens of nautical miles, and yet the number of creatures following him had swelled from five thousand to eight thousand.
Seeing the horde grow bigger and bigger, Kevin felt a headache coming on.
There was no way he was going to sail across the Terror Sea with thousands of Eldritch Entities in tow.
So he turned to the girls and shrugged. "Kill them. At least we can rack up some Battle Points."
