Chapter 128: The Fleet Alliance
A mental blast was forming in Pelosi’s eyes.
All she had to do was blink, and the powerful shockwave would hit Kevin.
But Kevin didn’t give her the chance.
Before Pelosi could attack, Kevin put the [Mermaid Princess’s Guardian Heart] necklace on Nova.
Pelosi’s mental attack got stuck inside Nova’s body. She couldn’t let it out, and she couldn’t pull it back. So she had to send her anger through her soul again.
"You sneaky human! Just you wait!"
Kevin smiled. Then he took the necklace off Nova again.
Pelosi woke up once more. She opened her eyes - still those familiar black ones. "What are you doing now?"
Kevin grinned. "Forgot to say goodbye. Bye."
The moment he said it, Kevin slapped Pelosi’s ass twice.
Pelosi’s eyes went wide. Before she could say anything, Kevin put the [Mermaid Princess’s Guardian Heart] back on Nova.
Now Pelosi was really furious.
She didn’t even bother sending Kevin a message through her soul. She just left the sea area where the "Daddy" Cannon was.
Then Nova slowly opened her eyes.
Her eyes weren’t cloudy anymore. They were clear and beautiful and full of life.
"What happened to me?" Nova asked Kevin, looking confused.
Suddenly she felt a burning pain all over her body, and her lower half felt sore and numb.
She looked down and saw Kevin, naked, on top of her.
She rolled her eyes. "Honey, what did you do to me while I was out?"
Kevin was stunned for a moment, then grinned. "You were possessed by a demon. I was just performing an exorcism."
"An exorcism?" Nova looked at Kevin doubtfully and snorted. "Why do I feel like you’re scarier than a demon?"
Kevin nodded. "The demon thinks so too."
For the rest of that night, Nova’s mind stayed calm.
Pelosi never tried to invade Nova’s soul again.
To heal Nova’s wounds, Kevin held the [Tear of the Goddess] in his mouth and gently licked every bruise on her body.
He kept going until the [Tear of the Goddess], mixed with his saliva, had restored every inch of Nova’s skin. Then he slowly sat up.
"Damn, it’s already morning."
Meanwhile, in a distant sea, a floating palace was shaking wildly.
Powerful shockwaves blasted out from the center of the palace, sending tsunami after tsunami in every direction.
The nearby islands were washed clean by the waves. Almost all the plants were gone.
Some Eldritch Entities that had been wandering nearby were smashed dead on the beaches.
"Kevin! I want you dead! You bastard who defiled my vessel! You human who used my body to insult me! I’ll kill you!" Pelosi stood in the middle of the castle, screaming like crazy.
She tried to stand up and leave the castle.
But suddenly, an invisible barrier blocked her.
Then a solemn voice echoed through the castle: "Pelosi. An evil god’s true body cannot descend upon the Terror Sea. That’s a rule set by the Old Pillars. Do you want to die?"
Pelosi’s body trembled. She stopped in her tracks. "So I’m just supposed to let some human insult me?"
The solemn voice spoke again, this time in warning: "In the Terror Sea, you can only find a suitable vessel and project your soul and power through it."
"Of course, you can also develop your own followers. That’s your freedom. But an evil god’s true body cannot descend. Otherwise, you’ll trigger a war among the gods - and you can’t afford the consequences."
With that, the solemn presence faded away completely.
Pelosi’s body shook as she let out a cold snort. "Damn it! All my followers are in the [Second Sea Area]. Do I really have to wait until that human reaches the [Second Sea Area] to get my revenge?"
Pelosi knew very well that if Kevin could use a necklace to block her connection with Nova, he probably had other ways to stop her from taking over Nova’s body.
Realizing that, Pelosi gave up on trying to steal Nova’s soul.
Kill Kevin first. Then take Nova.
That was Pelosi’s new plan.
Of course, that plan quickly turned into an order and was sent to Sky Island.
When Kingston found out that Pelosi’s orders were to kill Kevin first, he was completely stunned.
What had that human done to make an evil god abandon her own vessel just to kill him first?
Just as Kingston was puzzled, Sindra beside him covered her mouth and chuckled. "Is it possible that Mr. Kevin has already... violated Lady Nova?"
Kingston’s eyes went wide as soon as he heard that.
He looked around quickly, then kicked Sindra away. "This is Sky Island. Watch your mouth, or the evil god will hear you, and you’ll lose your life."
Sindra giggled quietly, picked herself up, and scurried out of Kingston’s hall.
Kingston stood there thinking for a moment. Then he walked out of the hall, looked up at the distant sky, and muttered to himself, "If my next move fails again, the evil god will probably kill me. Looks like it’s time to consider making a deal with Lord Soros."
While Kingston was getting ready to deal with Kevin, Raphael and Monchhichi had already spread the word about Kevin’s location.
The Survivors nearby found out where Kevin was. Like wolves spotting prey, they quickly gathered together.
Of course, many Survivors didn’t want to pick a fight with Kevin. They chose to avoid that area altogether and sail around it instead.
But still, nearly fifty ships set sail toward the coordinates Kevin had given them.
When Kevin heard about this, he just nodded quietly.
Fifty ships. If each one lured in about a hundred Eldritch Entities, that would be five thousand in total.
"That should drop a lot of loot," Kevin said as he stepped out of the cabin. He immediately summoned the Dragon Form Mist Phantom.
This time, every [covenant-bearer] stepped onto the Dragon Form Mist Phantom’s body. The creature carried Kevin and the girls as they flew toward the nearest Survivor group.
By the time evening came.
In the middle of a wide open sea, three ships were sailing side by side.
On the deck of the center ship, a big celebration was going on.
More than forty Survivors were singing and dancing, drinking wine and eating meat. The atmosphere was lively.
Captain Maduro raised his glass and clinked it with the other two captains. "Let’s drink to the official founding of our fleet!"
When the Survivors heard Maduro’s voice, they all stopped what they were doing. One by one, they raised their glasses and cheered, "To the official founding of the Wild Wolf Fleet!"
Captain Kaka leaned against the wall, took out a cigarette, and lit it with a relaxed look. "Today’s a good day. Normally I’d save this for later."
Captain Ronaldo laughed. "Our fleet has seven ships gathering together. From now on, we move forward and fall back together. Even the Eldritch Entities will be scared off just by our presence."
Captain Maduro grinned. "They’ll be here soon. Once all seven teams meet up, we’ll go challenge Kevin. After that, the title of the strongest fleet in the Terror Sea will belong to us - the Wild Wolf Fleet."
Kaka could see the ambition in Maduro’s eyes. He let out a small laugh. "Tell the crew not to get too drunk. That guy is somewhere in this area. We don’t want him robbing us tonight."
Ronaldo blinked. "Robbing? Rob what? Who’s robbing who?"
Kaka rolled his eyes. "Have you forgotten? That guy Kevin robbed three ships just a few days ago. Andrew and Cosby barely made it out alive. Tiger Woods died in that chaos."
Maduro’s face darkened at the mention of that.
He had heard about it. But back then, the Survivors hadn’t grown strong yet.
After five or six straight days of fighting, the Survivors who had made it this far had gotten a whole lot stronger.
Thinking about that, Maduro laughed again. "Don’t forget - Kevin and his crew lost seven days of development. While they were enjoying their safe rest period, we’ve been killing five or six waves of Eldritch Entities."
"Right now, almost every one of our crew members has at least two pieces of equipment, weapons, or Eldritch Artifacts. With that kind of strength, even if Kevin and his people show up, they’ll have to get down on their knees and beg for mercy."
Kaka blew out a ring of smoke. "I just hope that after these seven days, we can catch up to Kevin’s level."
Just then, a strong, muscular crew member walked over with a smaller, skinny one draped over his arm.
"Boss, don’t worry," the crew member said, flexing his muscles and patting his belt.
Maduro noticed that hanging from the belt were a C-Tier weapon and a C-Tier Eldritch Artifact - and the belt itself was also a C-Tier piece of equipment.
"Looks like you guys have picked up some good stuff these past few days," Maduro said with admiration.
The crew member grinned. "We haven’t been slacking off. At night we fight off Eldritch Entity attacks, and during the day we search islands for supplies. Before we came here, we passed by a deserted island and found some ruins. That’s where I got these treasures."
The big man then put his arm around the other crew member and led him into the cabin.
Kaka watched the two of them disappear with a knowing smile. "Looks like the Survivors who’ve made it this far are finally starting to level up fast."
Maduro sighed. "Yeah. A month has passed. The idiots in the Terror Sea should all be dead by now."
He reached over and took a cigarette from Kaka’s pack. Just as he was about to light it, a mocking voice came from above.
"Who says all the idiots are dead? Isn’t there a whole three ships full of them standing right here, alive and well?"
...
