Chapter 190: Da da dum!!
The smile on Hye Yang’s lips vanished and her gaze was immediately filled with horror. She did not know what to say.
Her brows furrowed and she stared at Ming Tao. "What. . ." Hye Yang asked in a whisper so only he could hear. "What do you mean? What are you doing?"
Ming Tao still maintained the smile on his face as his eyes locked with hers, his look slowly drifted into condensation and his grip on her hand tightened. "What do you think, wench?"
The murmur in the crowd bursted through the environment uncontrolled as they all exchanged glances with each other. It was Mira’s turn to have a wicked, satisfied half smile on her face. She crossed her arms over her chest and watched with content.
"And this woman also used a banished art within the beast domain and risked countless lives to achieve it.
Everyone, I introduce to you the evil lady who practiced dark magic and worked side by side with our enemy tribe." Ming Tao announced. His hand forced Hye Yang’s body forward in a rough pull. Hye Yang tried to break free but Ming Tao tightened his grip on her.
Confusion masked her face and her confidence was immediately gone. "Ming Tao!" Hye Yang called him in a short, heavy breath.
Ming Tao turned his face to look at her. "Address me by my name again without any title and I will have your tongue slit out of your throat." He said to her in a cold tone.
Hye Yang shivered. Her face mirrored an expression that was nothing but fear. "What happened to you?" She asked him in a low tone. "What did that wench do?!" Hye Yang tilted her head to the side to face Mira then she looked back at Ming Tao. She whispered some words, the same magic words she casted on Ming Tao for the hypnosis, desperation obvious in her quivering tone.
Ming Tao did not look fazed. This made worry crowd Hye Yang’s eyes and she murmured the words again. Nothing happened. He did not let go of her hand and the warmth he had used to address her when he was under her hypnosis was gone. This made Hye Yang’s lips tremble. Her breathing hitched and her chest heaved.
She did not need to think twice before it clicked in. He knew. Mira knew. They both knew and this entire thing was planned. Hye Yang felt her entire body go hot instantly and she began to feel faint.
How long ago was her hypnosis broken and how did she not realise that something was wrong? Now that she thought about it, she had been occupied with spreading rumours and mingling with her cousin tribe that she did not realise that she had not been with the Mighty Cheetah for so long.
Shit. How on earth could somebody so manipulative and a master of scheming be fooled so easily?? Hye Yang asked herself in her head. She felt utterly stupid and irritated by her stupidity. It all made sense now. Those cheetah ladies were sent to play with her as a distraction and she completely fell for it and now she was in trouble.
Hye Yang’s eyes met Mira. She immediately noticed the smile on her sister’s lips and it made her blood boil with hatred and rage. She could not let Mira win. She could not let all of her work go to waste that easily. As far as Hye Yang was concerned, all of these were false accusations.
She was innocent! They had no proof.
"My lord!" Hye Yang cried aloud and fell to the ground with such force that her weight made her hand slip out of Ming Tao’s grip. "You have accused the wrong fox. I would do no such evil thing. Why would I, your subject dare try to sabotage the progress at the farm and attack the Mighty Cheetah himself? I am but one woman, my lord, please, I am being framed!"
Hye Yang ensured to bow her head down with every word she spouted. Tears streamed down her face.
Wow, Mira thought to herself, I have seen this woman act before but each time, it just keeps getting better and better. This beast woman Hye Yang deserves an Oscar.
[ And you deserve a Guinness award for the First Lady to die from anticipation of receiving dick, host! ] System chimed. Mira’s face flattened at this. This was the worst time possible for a joke but system sure had to.
I will ignore you for now, system, there are more important matters at hand, now, Mira said to system in her mind.
[ I will be at your service when it is time to diss, I mean, help you, host! ]
Mira’s gaze narrowed as she stared at the screen before her. Right, she would pretend that she did not just read that and she would let her entire focus rest on her sister.
"Please, my Lord, how could a feeble fox like me possibly harm a mighty ruler like yourself and try to kill my own sister? Everyone knows how much I tell good tales of my sister and how I am always on her side no matter what she does. Please, this is all but a ploy against me, my Lord!" Hye Yang continued, this time more dramatic than before.
As long as the beast people still believed that she was a good, innocent fox it would be easy to find a way out of this. All Hye Yang had to do was manipulate the crowd then find a way to get Ming Tao under her thumb again. And this time, she would ensure she binds him with a spell that would be difficult to break without her knowing about it first.
"How did you know the progress that was mentioned to be manipulated was a farm, Hye Yang? My husband, Ming Tao never mentioned it." Rose from the other side of the open centre. All ayes darted towards the seating area and rested on the woman who was sat comfortably on a wooden seat carved for royals.
Hye Yang felt tongue tied. How on earth could she have made such a mistake in speech now out of all times? "Sister, how can you be so cruel to me and accuse me too? The Mighty Cheetah mentioned it with his own mouth not so long ago." Hye Yang said. Now, her voice matched the crocodile tears that ran down her face.
"No he did not." Shot from the crowd. The person who voiced that out walked forward. Mira felt the ends of her lips curl as she sighted the beast woman. It was Shu Hua. "You can say that you have been accused but you cannot lie and twist the things we already heard. How do you even know what a ’farm’ is if you indeed have been accused? It is something only we in the cheetah clan are aware of." Shu Hua stated.
Hye Yang buried her head into the grown and a sneer formed on her face. If she got out of this mess, the next person she was going to eliminate had just made her entrance. Hye Yang liked Shu Hua, too bad the woman was stupid enough to contend against her in public, especially after her own ruler had just announced that he was attacked by Hye Yang.
"Or do you mean to say the Mighty one, ruler of one of the regions in the beast world told a lie and you are right?" Shu Hua pushed. Her voice had an obvious irritation. "Or do you assume that we are all stupid that you could say something that absurd in OUR OWN LAND?!" Now, Shu Hua’s voice raised.
Hye Yang’s fist clenched. She did not say a word, she could hear the words murmured amongst the beast people and she knew there was no way for her to talk her way out of it. It was either she admitted that she was involved with it which would absolutely not help her situation or she changed the subject, which also seemed impossible to do.
A hand grabbed Hye Yang’s hair so tightly that a scream tore out of Hye Yang’s mouth. The person who held her by the hair used it to shove her body to the side ruggedly before raising her up to face the crowd.
Mira’s eyes shot open. Never had she witnessed such brute strength from Shu Hua and it was now that she realised that the reason Shu Hua or anyone from the cheetah clan did not dare treat her this roughly was because of her husband.
"When the Mighty Cheetah speaks to you, you do not talk back. You do not contend and you do not dare twist his words, you simply bow down and listen like the subject that you are!" Shu Hua yelled, now she pushed Hye Yang’s head down till it hit the ground and used her foot to hold Hye Yang’s face to the ground. "Is that understood?!"
