Chapter 901 - 472: Even Seduction Will Do (Part 2)
"Charlotte, don’t stay up too late reading." Isaac Thompson smiled warmly as he patted his daughter’s hand. Ever since she had come back home, he had been overjoyed. Originally reluctant to let her leave home upon marriage, he was now delighted—his daughter was back, and his son-in-law naturally followed; the house felt lively again.
He found comfort in this, despite knowing his heart was not in good condition. He wasn’t sure how much longer he could hold on. If he could hold a little grandson in his arms, his life would not have been in vain.
"Charlotte, work at the company is never-ending. Don’t let both of you being busy make you forget about having children. I don’t know how much longer my health will last, but if you and Alexander could quickly have a child, I would have no regrets." Isaac held Charlotte’s hand. He had never dared to bring it up, but today, for some reason, he felt the urge to say it—as though not saying it kept a heavy stone lodged in his heart.
"I understand." Nora Thompson smiled lightly, her heart suddenly aching. A child? With things as they were now, how could they possibly have a child? Returning to her room, Alexander King had already showered and lay on her bed. She frowned but said nothing, picked up her pillow, and placed it on the sofa.
"Charlotte, what more do you want? Now people outside are calling me Nora Thompson’s live-in husband, what more do you want from me?" Alexander sighed, got off the bed, letting his loose pajamas hang precariously on his waist, his bare torso revealing sleek lines, with neatly arranged abs leading down to sharply defined oblique muscles.
Nora’s gaze slowly drifted downward. Her mind kept thinking about one thing: having a child...
Alexander sat beside Nora and looked at her; she was a bit thin, with delicate ankles leading up to her milky white calves, quite enticing.
"Let’s have a child." Nora looked up with clear eyes at Alexander, speaking seriously.
She didn’t want her father to have any regrets in his life. Although medicine was advanced now, it could not stop his heart from aging and worsening.
"What? What did you say?" Alexander’s voice changed with excitement; he couldn’t believe what he was hearing. Was this an auditory hallucination?
He looked at the woman beside him, it was undoubtedly Nora—cold, scholarly, sometimes a bit distant.
She made his heart ache with love to the point of unbearable pain, and sometimes he wanted to bite her in frustration. She always acted unexpectedly, but today she truly amazed him, her words igniting excitement in every cell of his body, even his toes involuntarily moved on the carpet.
"You just need to provide your sperm, that’s all." Nora spoke calmly, his genes should be very good, and she was a bit selfish. Even if she couldn’t accept him fully, his image lingered in her heart. If she had a boy like him with strong brows, dazzling teeth worthy of a toothpaste ad, possessing all his traits, would her life still have regrets?
Is that what she meant?
He shouldn’t have misunderstood; she wanted...
"Impossible, unless there’s hands-on involvement. How could my ’bullets’ just be given away? If word got out, people would think I couldn’t perform." Alexander almost jumped up, his mood tonight was like bungee jumping—up and down—and this woman seemed calm as an undisturbed pond.
But appearances are deceiving. Just like the words she said now, which he couldn’t accept, what kind of talk was this? It wasn’t that he couldn’t perform, he sure could! He had learned from his mistakes after marriage, paying a painful price. But now it seemed his continual concessions hadn’t worked. He needed to take the initiative and attack, or he’d end up a monk for life. Heaven knows he was about to burst.
"Do you want to be a saint, letting me be ridiculed for life? Nora, I really want to open your mind to see what you’re thinking." Alexander exploded with anger; after so much effort, all he got was to be a mere sperm donor, hardly amusing.
"Forget it if you’re unwilling." Nora furrowed her brows slightly, her delicate face showing a hint of worry.
Alexander dangerously moved closer: "Throw away all those jumbled thoughts in your head, if you dare seek a sperm donor, I’ll tell Isaac everything and see if he can withstand the shock." She most cared about Isaac’s fragile heart, unable to cope with such stimuli. He didn’t want to threaten her, but what else could he do? Despite her refined and delicate appearance, she had ideas bigger than anyone, so outrageous it was unbearable.
Alexander scooped her up and tossed her onto the bed: "From now on, you obediently sleep in bed with me. We have to share the bed."
He must progress further. Alexander knew some matters couldn’t be rushed, but he originally planned to share a bed with her, even if it involved seduction—he had to win over this bookworm, or he’d go insane.
No woman had ever been like this, making him worry so much, yet this woman seemed indifferent. What was her mindset when she agreed to his marriage proposal?
