Chapter 182: Pulling Off A Uno Reverse
Chapter 182
Seeing that the countless Deathfrost Blooms, all emitting the suffocating aura of death were coming in close, and left with no extra time to think about anything else at the moment, Alex hurriedly activated Void Step once again and vanished.
The exact moment he appeared somewhere else, the Deathfrost Blooms all changed direction as if being driven by an invisible hand and headed toward his way, which in turn made Alex widen his eyes.
"Crap! How the hell is she doing this?"
He once again had to activate void step, and this time vanished even farther with the thought that either Celine could control Deathfrost Blooms or once she sent the attack it would mark him like heat seeking missiles and continuously follow him till they achieve their purpose.
He was more inclined to believe the first idea rather than the second, but he still couldn’t be sure. So he teleported to the full distance his Void Step ability could carry him with the hope that maybe, just maybe escaping her sight of vision could help.
But the moment he appeared they followed him again, making Alex curse under his breath. This went on for at least several more minutes. No matter where he teleported, they would pursue him without slowing down.
Celine meanwhile, remained standing in the distance, watching the whole thing with a satisfied smile on her face.
Knowing he couldn’t keep this up, Alex finally stopped. His eyes were wide as he stared at the thousand Deathfrost Blooms, all rapidly approaching him like a swarm of zombies.
"Surprised, are we?" Celine’s smug voice calmly traveled across the distance, causing Alex to slowly turn his head toward her. When he did that her smile became even colder. "I can control where my Deathfrost Blooms go. So no matter where you run to, with my sharp eyesight from years of killing in the cover of the shadows paired with my ability, your fate is all but sealed today."
Celine slowly raised her chin.
"Remember what I said last time? Well I plan to fulfill that promise tonight. It will serve as my revenge for what you did to me."
Alex’s eyebrows twitched as he remembered what she had said last time. How could he ever forget the day where he copied his first ability. She had warned him that she would make him pay for what he had done and all that stuff.
Alex stared at the countless Deathfrost Blooms rapidly getting closer and closer. The scene was as frightening as it was beautiful. And why wouldn’t they be frightening when obsidian petals far stronger than any diamond, and sharp enough to pierce through an Ascendant Realm’s body was quite literally heading his way.
And let’s not forget the fact that those shards all had the ability to drain life force. Yet even though Alex could feel the temperature around him dropping even lower, so much so that the ground beneath his feet was already beginning to freeze, he didn’t move a single inch.
Celine’s eyebrows raised up high slightly, looking genuinely confused about what he was doing. Her smile had long since disappeared already.
"Was he giving up?" she muttered to herself, but immediately shook her head. No. That couldn’t be right. Alex wasn’t the type of person who would simply surrender. But then why wasn’t he moving?
The Deathfrost Blooms were now less than ten meters away. Then it dropped to five meters. Three meters. Then to two meters. In an instant the obsidian icy petals were now so close that they were almost touching his body.
Celine’s eyes narrowed. Then, just when the Deathfrost Blooms were less than a meter and a half away from him... Alex suddenly gave a grin, that made Celine feel wary for some reason she just couldn’t name.
"Sorry darling..." His forest green eyes gleamed with confidence. "But I have absolutely no intention of dying here today. Maybe when I’m really old, but now? Nah. After all, I still have to make chubby babies with you."
Celine’s beautiful face immediately stiffened.
"What did you just—"
Before she could finish speaking, Alex’s eyes suddenly changed.
His forest green irises transformed into a light shade of purple, while distinct clock-like designs appeared within them. The strange patterns while forming, continuously rotated inside his eyes, giving them an almost otherworldly appearance that could make anime lovers go crazy.
The next instant, the entire world began to slow down entirely. But this time it was not the usual twenty times but an astonishing forty times slower, thanks to the increase he got from completing the system’s mission earlier
To Alex, everything around him immediately became incredibly sluggish. The thousand Deathfrost Blooms that had been rushing toward him at astonishing speed, now appeared to crawl through the air at a speed that was almost laughable.
Celine herself had become nearly motionless, but not still as slow as how regular Humans would have been if they were here.
Alex looked around calmly.
"Forty times, huh?" A satisfied smile appeared on his face. "That’s definitely much better than before."
Since his own ability did not seem to affect him or interfere with his other powers, like how it did during the fight against the old fossil from the Kade family, Alex had no reason to hold back anymore.
He raised one hand, gathering most of his energy and making an enormous amount of bright blue sparks suddenly gathered around his palm.
The thick sound of Thunder rumbled, as the darkness around the deserted road was suddenly illuminated by brilliant blue flashes of celestial thunder.
Alex’s expression became calm.
"Celestial Thunder."
BOOOOOM!
At that instant several terrifying bolts of lightning around fifteen meters long, instantly shot from his palm. Then countless Deathfrost Blooms were struck directly.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
One after another, the obsidian petals were completely destroyed by the overwhelming lightning attack. Since Celestial Thunder was not in any way affected by Eye of Chronos ability.
The lightning moved at its normal speed, allowing it to sweep through the slowed-down Deathfrost Blooms before they could even come close to Alex.
Within moments, the thousand Deathfrost Blooms that had threatened to tear Alex apart were completely annihilated.
Alex lowered his hand and glanced around.
"Well then, that takes care of that."
He then turned his attention toward Celine.
The beautiful woman was still standing there, completely unaware of what had just happened. From her perspective, the entire event was still happening.
Alex’s lips slowly curved upward.
Now that he thought about it, Celine had genuinely tried to kill him.
Sure, he knew she never actually had any actual chance of murdering him. But still, she had attacked him without hesitation, destroyed his precious Lamborghini, and then chased him around with a thousand Deathfrost Blooms.
That deserved some punishment.
Alex slowly began walking toward her. His footsteps were completely normal. He couldn’t help smiling as he approached her.
"Now let’s see..." He rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "How should I punish you?"
Then an idea suddenly came to mind.
Alex’s eyes briefly moved over Celine’s beautiful figure.
Since his other abilities weren’t affected by Eye of Chronos, there was one particular ability that could be extremely useful right now. And would be a perfect punishment for this feisty little woman.
Aura of Seduction.
Alex’s grin became mischievous.
"Why not?"
He directly activated the ability and continued to approach her until he was standing directly in front of the beautiful assassin.
While Celine’s black eyes remained completely still, Alex looked at her stunningly beautiful face.
"You’re pretty scary when you’re angry, you know?"
No response. Of course, she couldn’t respond. After all, time itself was still moving forty times slower than normal.
Alex casually moved around her.
He occasionally placed his hands around her waist or pulled her closer for a brief hug before releasing her again.
The purpose wasn’t to do anything inappropriate. He simply wanted to accelerate the effects of his Aura of Seduction.
After all, Celine was an Ascendant Realm Awakened. Her mental resistance was undoubtedly far greater than that of an ordinary woman.
Alex knew he couldn’t simply rely on the ability alone without some form of physical contact since physical contact with any woman would increase the Aura’s effect. So he continued gradually weakening her defenses
After another brief embrace that he was thoroughly enjoying to the brim. Alex’s smile became increasingly satisfied as he watched the subtle changes appearing on Celine’s normally cold face.
"That’s it."
He stepped back.
"Almost there."
After a few more moments, Alex finally decided that enough was enough.
He deactivated Eye of Chronos, causing time to immediately return back to it’s normal speed.
WHOOSH!
The thousand Deathfrost Blooms were gone. Celine’s beautiful black eyes suddenly widened.
"What?!"
She stared at the empty space where her attack had previously been. Her expression was one of complete disbelief. Where the freaking hell had her Deathfrost Blooms gone?
She hadn’t seen Alex destroy them or hadn’t even seen him make a move.
"What happened?"
Her eyes immediately shifted toward Alex. He was standing directly in front of her, still giving that annoying grin that made her want to smash his head to a bloody pulp.
Celine’s beautiful face immediately became suspicious.
"What did you do just now?"
Alex merely smiled.
Celine’s expression suddenly changed.
Something... Something was not right.
She was feeling something familiar, something her body could never forget no matter what. It was that exact same strange feeling she had experienced the last time Alex used that damn perverted ability on her.
Her thoughts suddenly became muddled and her normally sharp mind felt strangely hazy. She could even feel her body beginning to heat up.
An intense warmth spread through her chest and quickly traveled throughout her entire body before settling in between her thighs.
Celine’s eyes widened.
"No..."
She instinctively took a step backward. But Alex took one step forward.
Celine’s heart began beating faster.
The sensation was infuriatingly familiar. She knew exactly what was happening. It was that damn ability!
Her beautiful black eyes immediately filled with anger.
"You..."
Alex’s grin widened.
Celine’s face rapidly turned red.
"You dare..."
Her voice trembled.
"How dare you use that perverted ability on me once more?!"
Alex didn’t answer. Instead, he suddenly reached forward and wrapped his arm around her thin waist.
Celine’s eyes widened.
"Alex, you—"
Before she could finish, Alex pulled her body toward him, making her curvaceous body collide against his.
Celine’s beautiful black eyes widened in complete shock. And then Alex did the one thing he was best at, he pressed his lips against hers.
