Chapter 181
The thought had barely crossed his mind when Alex’s entire body suddenly froze as an intense sense of danger swept through him.
Something was wrong. And not just any kind of wrong but very, very wrong.
At that exact moment, the temperature everywhere suddenly began to plummet down. The change was so sudden and extreme that white mist immediately escaped from his mouth with every breath.
His forest green eyes narrowed as he muttered under his breath.
"What the..."
But before he could even finish speaking, what looked like two or three inky black like shards of ice suddenly appeared in the darkness ahead of him.
They looked almost like petals made entirely from black ice, with each petal carrying an incredibly sharp edge that glimmered ominously under the moonlight, carrying the unmistakable scent of death.
He could recognize them from anywhere because he too quite literally had the exact same ability. It was Deathfrost Bloom! And that meant the person attacking him was... Her.
Alex’s expression changed immediately.
"You have got to be kidding me."
The petals shot toward his Lamborghini at terrifying speeds, causing Alex to instantly understand that there was no time to think about anything else.
The first wave of Deathfrost Blooms slammed directly into the tires. Puchi! Puchi! causing the tires to be instantly punctured, clean through.
The Lamborghini Murciélago lost control almost immediately. And the steering wheel violently jerked in Alex’s hands as the vehicle suddenly swerved across the deserted road.
"Seriously?!"
Alex hurriedly tried to regain control, but the Damn Lamborghini had already begun to spin like crazy. The vehicle turned sideways before suddenly flipping into the air.
BOOM!
A loud screeching sound rang out as the entire car slammed against the road, causing sparks to fly out, before bouncing back into the air.
What continued to happen next could only be described as tragic, as the once beautiful and proud Lamborghini Murciélago somersaulted again, and again, and again.
The expensive sports car then continued tumbling down the deserted road, with its metallic body being crushed and torn apart with every impact.
After several terrifying rotations, the Lamborghini finally landed upside down, but it didn’t yet come to a halt. The vehicle slid across the asphalt for at least several more meters before finally coming to a stop.
After that, silence once again returned to the deserted road. Though, the only sound that managed to remain was the faint crackling of the freezing air.
At that moment an extremely beautiful woman with a face so stunning it could make any supermodels envious, slowly emerged from the cover of the darkness.
She had long midnight black hair that gently swayed behind her as she walked forward. Her beautiful black eyes, that looked like twin voids, were cold and deep, while the tight assassin gear covering her body did very little to hide her perfect hourglass figure.
Her footsteps were completely silent like that of a cat as she calmly approached the wrecked Lamborghini that could make a demolition derby look like child’s play.
From the looks of things it was clear as day that that car was beyond fixing.
The woman stopped beside the upside-down vehicle and stared at it for several seconds. She obviously wasn’t really stupid enough to believe that an attack like that could easily kill an Awakened.
Especially not someone like that scoundrel, Alex.
The durability of an Awakened was far beyond that of an ordinary human. So even if a normal person had been trapped inside the vehicle during the crash, they would have almost certainly died.
But Alex?
The woman seriously doubted it.
She reached toward the driver’s side door. Then, without exerting any form of effort whatsoever, she grabbed it and ripped the entire door clean off its hinges.
For her, it was almost as effortless as tearing a piece of paper in half, proving just how formidable her strength was.
The woman tossed the door aside before looking inside. But it was... Empty!
Her beautiful black eyes narrowed in pure surprise.And She didn’t even notice when the car suddenly exploded.
But as the fire died down rapidly because of the freezing cold, her breathtaking figure stood there without a single scratch. She was still wondering where that bastard, Alex was?
At that exact moment, a familiar voice suddenly came from behind her.
"Damn."
The woman immediately turned around.
Alex was standing several meters away. His clothes were slightly dusty, but other than that, he looked completely unharmed. He even had an annoying grin plastered across his handsome face.
"Is this really how you want to welcome the guy who helped you out last time?"
The woman’s expression immediately changed.
Alex’s grin widened.
"Black Rose..."
Her black eyes became colder.
"Or should I say Celine?"
The killing intent surrounding the beautiful woman suddenly exploded, making Alex’s expression become slightly more serious, after all, she was still technically an Ascendant Realm Awakened.
So he had to be careful. He couldn’t make his child grow up fatherless or worse still, have another man raise his child. Though, he doubted Nyx would even get together with another guy.
All he needed to do was to make Celine blinded with anger, which he could then exploit and use to win without actually hurting her.
Celine’s body moved. And then a terrifying black frosty aura instantly surged around her as she raised her delicate hand and fired a Deathfrost Bloom shard directly toward his chest, aiming exactly for his heart.
The attack traveled at an incredible speed that could put a bullet from a heavy machine gun to shame. But Alex simply activated Void Step once more and disappeared.
The very next instant, he appeared directly in front of Celine, making her beautiful black eyes widened slightly in shock.
Deciding to begin his plan, Alex leaned forward.Then he casually gave her a quick peck on the cheek.
Celine froze in shock from the unexpected kiss. Alex immediately pulled away with a satisfied grin and said.
"Long time no see. What took you so long?For a second there I thought you had actually forgotten all about me."
For a moment, Celine simply stood there, with her stunning face looking completely blank.
Alex tilted his head.
"What’s wrong?"
Celine’s beautiful black eyes slowly shifted toward him. And the gaze she was giving made Alex’s grin become slightly weaker.
[Uh oh. You just made wifey number four mad]
"You..." Celine’s voice trembled with anger.
"You freaking pervert! I will kill you!"
Her small fist suddenly shot toward Alex. The force behind that single punch was absolutely terrifying. Alex had no intention of ever taking such a powerful punch even though he was two times stronger than her, so he activated Void Step and vanished.
BOOM!
The punch met nothing but empty air, but that didn’t mean it didn’t do anything. It was terrifying to the point that just the sheer force from Celine’s one thousand and five hundred ton strength caused the air in front of her fist to explode outward like a bomb.
A massive shockwave tore across the road, and the asphalt road beneath her feet cracked violently as the force traveled through the ground.
A section of the road was completely pulverized, while dust, gravel, and pieces of broken asphalt were blasted in every possible direction.
Just to describe how powerful the punch was, even the surrounding trees over dozens of meters away were violently uprooted from the impact, and sent crashing into the darkness.
Yet that damn Alex was nowhere to be seen. Celine’s expression became even darker. She swore that the second she lay hands on that slippery rat she would make sure he dies without a grave.
Then suddenly...
SMACK!
A loud obscene sound echoed throughout the deserted road, making Celine’s beautiful body stiffened.
Her eyes slowly widened. Because just now, someone had just slapped her backside. Turning around, she spotted Alex standing behind her, with that same annoying grin still on his face.
He rubbed his chin thoughtfully.
"Have you been working out more?" Alex said before nodding approvingly and adding. "Because they definitely feel even better than last time. Really top grade stuff, with how soft and elastic it is."
For several seconds, Celine didn’t move.
Alex’s grin slowly disappeared. Something felt wrong. Very wrong.
Celine’s beautiful face gradually turned beet red. Her black eyes then became increasingly furious and she roared.
"You...!!"
Alex took one step backward.
"Celine?"
"How dare you!! How dare you touch my butt?!"
Alex blinked.
"Well..."
"You are so dead!"
Alex immediately disappeared.
"Wait, let’s talk about this—"
Celine raised both of her hands. And then the temperature across the entire area suddenly dropped even further.
The darkness above them seemed to distort, as countless black petals began appearing in the night sky.
It started with one, before quickly shifting to ten. Then A hundred.Then from a hundred to a thousand
In a matter of seconds, an enormous number of Deathfrost Blooms floated silently above Celine’s head.
The obsidian petals were almost invisible against the dark night sky. They seemed to blend perfectly into the darkness.
Alex slowly appeared several dozen meters away.
His eyes immediately widened.
"Whoa."
Celine looked at him, as a cold and menacing smile slowly appeared on her beautiful face.
"Run."
Alex’s eyebrows rose.
"That’s it?"
Celine’s smile widened.
"Run."
Alex didn’t need to be told a third time. His figure instantly disappeared. At the same moment, Celine raised one hand, causing the thousand Deathfrost Blooms above her head to suddenly move.
WHOOSH!
They shot forward.
The countless obsidian petals flew through the darkness at speeds faster than bullets.
Alex appeared more than a hundred meters away and turned around after feeling he had escaped those damn Deathfrost Blooms. But his expression immediately changed.
"What the f*ck? Since when could they do that?"
The Deathfrost Blooms weren’t attacking the spot he had just left. Instead they were following him.
