The card game hadn’t broken up yet when Jane Sampson grabbed the money and dragged Coco Edwards out to the market to buy a whole bunch of vegetables. Dinner was put together personally by Jane Sampson and the siblings James Carter and Jane Sampson.

Father Carter was very busy; it was rare for him to squeeze out some vacation time, and even then he only took four days off before going back to work.

Jane Sampson booked the tickets for her and Coco Edwards to return to Capital Province on her own. To give James Black a surprise, she deliberately didn’t tell James Black.

She was used to her biological clock; at 6 o’clock in the morning Jane Sampson woke up. Seeing Coco Edwards still asleep, she reached out and pushed her. "Get up, we’re flying back to Capital Province today, we have to go into the city later to catch the airplane."

Coco Edwards flipped over like a turtle, let out an "ay" sound, and her face was a little pale.

"What’s wrong with you? Are you sick?" Jane Sampson took one look and was startled, quickly reaching out to feel Coco Edwards’s forehead. "Caught a cold or got a fever?"

"Dysmenorrhea." Coco Edwards waved her hand. "I’m fine, it’s still early, let me lie here for two more minutes."

Coco Edwards lay there like a dead fish, then sighed and asked Jane Sampson, "You recently don’t seem to have pain when your menstruation comes. Which place did you go to for conditioning? I’ve got to go do some conditioning too after I go back to Capital Province, otherwise every month there are a few days when I’m half dead, it’s too miserable."

"At Grandpa Peterson’s place. I’ll send you his address, go as soon as you have time. The medicine Grandpa Peterson prescribes is really bitter, but it works." Looking at Coco Edwards now, Jane Sampson felt like she was seeing her old self.

It was just that later James Black had forcibly dragged her over to Grandpa Peterson’s place for a period of conditioning, and also made her go exercise; after that, Jane Sampson’s dysmenorrhea slowly got better.

Jane Sampson touched her chin, thinking that when her period came this month it seemed like she didn’t feel a bit of it.

Thinking of that, Jane Sampson fell into a daze again.

What day did it come this month?

Because of this question, Jane Sampson stood there silently thinking for a full two minutes before finally arriving at a conclusion.

It seemed like it hadn’t come this month?!

It seemed like her period this month had already been delayed ten days!

Her period this month hadn’t come without her feeling a bit of it; it simply hadn’t come at all!

Jane Sampson only felt like she’d been struck by thunder.

She glanced at Coco Edwards in the Bed and instantly felt guilty.

She herself didn’t even know why she felt guilty.

It was like, her good sister was still half dead on this same road, and she had just defected from it entirely—that kind of guilty feeling.

Jane Sampson touched the tip of her nose and muttered under her breath, "Could it be that my menstruation got so irregular it just stopped? Or did I have so much fun this month I even forgot to have my period?"

"What are you muttering over there?" Coco Edwards hadn’t heard clearly and casually asked.

"Nothing, nothing, I’ll go make you some brown sugar water." Jane Sampson said, then quickly turned and ran out of the room.

But right after she ran out the room door, Jane Sampson touched her own belly again, then silently reined in the legs that had been about to take off in a run, turned into a little lady for once, and slowly went downstairs holding on to the staircase handrail.

Aunt was in the kitchen busy with breakfast. Seeing Jane Sampson come down, she asked why she was up so early.

"Coco’s got her menstruation, her belly hurts. I came down to make her a cup of brown sugar water. Coco and I are going back to Capital Province today." Jane Sampson explained.

When Aunt heard, she finally remembered that Jane Sampson and Coco Edwards were leaving. "Now that I hear you’re leaving, I’m already feeling a bit not used to it."

Aunt smiled. "Go back up and rest some more. I’ll make the brown sugar water and bring it up to her. Girls always feel uncomfortable during these few days, but don’t worry, after you’ve got married, it’ll get better."
