Chapter 2602 - 2610: Can’t Overexert Myself
Speaking of Jillian Carter, Bright Sampton really hated her so much his teeth itched. Back then, Jane Sampson suffered a lot at Jillian Carter’s hands: one kept swallowing her anger, while the other was arrogant and pressed tighter and tighter. The one who kept giving in was always the one who got wronged.
Jillian Carter had a miscarriage herself, yet she almost ruined Jane Sampson’s reputation on top of that. One thing after another—whenever Bright Sampton brings it up even now, he still seethes inside.
But now, hearing Oscar Wilson say Jillian Carter has gone crazy, doesn’t remember what she’s done, and is still immersed in that perfect world she built for herself, Bright Sampton feels both vindicated and that this outcome is still a bit too easy on her.
"Alright, go tell Oscar Wilson later to stop staring at Jillian Carter all the time. He’s that idle? Why isn’t he going to work?" Jane Sampson shook her head helplessly. "If Oscar Wilson has the energy for this, wouldn’t it be better spent on his job?"
"Oscar Wilson isn’t some prodigal rich kid. You see him laughing and joking all day, eating and drinking outdoors with friends, but in private he’s got quite a few investments. He’s well‑liked, easy to get along with, and whatever anyone is doing, they’re always happy to cut him in. He doesn’t ask for money from home anymore. Otherwise, what do you think Uncle Wilson and Aunt aren’t forcing him to go to work for?"
Bright Sampton actually felt that the way Oscar Wilson was living these days was very comfortable.
Unlike him...
Bright Sampton had been stuck in the countryside lately keeping an eye on the home stay, so during this stretch, he was hardly ever in the city district.
"Oh right, sister, our home stay’s decoration is almost done. Once it’s ready, let’s invite our own friends to go there and have fun for two days first, then start officially opening to guests, how about it?" Bright Sampton said. "You can take advantage of things being relatively light for you right now and start gradually doing some publicity for our home stay."
Right now Bright Sampton’s whole forehead was full of work. The moment he saw Jane Sampson, the first words out of his mouth were about work again.
After listening for a short while, Jane Sampson’s brain started to ache. She waved her hand. "I’m a pregnant woman now, I can’t get tired. You just make the decisions on this stuff."
With that, Jane Sampson grabbed the fruits and slipped away as fast as she could, leaving Bright Sampton standing there alone, staring at the ceiling and questioning his life.
There were clearly three bosses, yet somehow it felt like he was the only one ridiculously busy.
In the living room, Brooke Black and Old Master Black were already discussing baby names for the child in Jane Sampson’s belly. Brooke Black was holding paper and pen, writing away, and Old Master Black was sitting next to her, suggesting names. When he saw Jane Sampson come out, Old Master Black beckoned her over and said, "Come look—these are the names your aunt and I came up with for your baby. Aren’t there a lot?"
"We don’t even know yet if the child is a boy or a girl." Jane Sampson walked to Brooke Black’s side and took a glance.
Well, in just the short time she and Bright Sampton had spent in the kitchen chatting, Brooke Black and Old Master Black had already come up with several names for both boys and girls.
Jane Sampson swept her eyes over a few of the names, and Old Master Black hurriedly asked which one she liked.
Jane Sampson quietly wrinkled her nose tip and muttered under her breath, "If the baby is a boy, we might still be able to pick one we three all like from here. But if it’s a girl, Grandfather, with James Black’s overlord temperament, do you really think it’ll come around to us to choose?"
That one little mutter from Jane Sampson immediately doused Brooke Black’s and Old Master Black’s passion.
Brooke Black closed the notebook and nodded. "We really did forget about James Black."
"James Black likes daughters, right?" Brooke Black truly wasn’t surprised at all.
