Chapter 2706 - 2724: Out of Line
After speaking, Father Lancaster waved his hand, "Go upstairs and clean yourself up, then come down to meet the Edwards Family members."
Emily Lancaster nodded, wiped the tears from the corner of her eyes, and slowly went upstairs.
Father Lancaster regretted hitting his daughter just now, but with Father Edwards and his daughter arriving, he didn’t have time to speak more with his daughter, turned around to greet the guests, so no one noticed Emily quietly curl the corner of her mouth into a smile as she turned and went upstairs.
Two minutes later, Amber Edwards followed her father into the Lancaster Family home.
Father Edwards managed to maintain a slight smile on his face, while Amber Edwards’s face was sullen. She saw Father Lancaster but remained silent until Father Edwards prompted her to greet, at which point Amber reluctantly said, "Hello, President Lancaster."
President Lancaster’s mouth twitched; the last time Amber saw him, she greeted him as Uncle Lancaster.
"Young girls, don’t know better, have a temper, don’t take it seriously," Father Edwards patted Amber’s shoulder, chuckling as he scolded her, "The older she gets, the more outrageous she becomes."
"Some people grow up to be even more outrageous, like a joke," Amber responded sharply.
Amber didn’t call names, but Father Lancaster knew who Amber was referring to.
This was indeed initially Amber’s fault, so Father Lancaster could only smile and repeatedly say it’s okay before inviting the father and daughter to sit in the tea room.
"Is Emily not home?" Amber asked after sitting down.
"She is, she’s upstairs. I’ve already asked Aunt to call her down," Father Lancaster said promptly. "She made a major mistake at work, and I just scolded her a bit, so she’s feeling bad and went upstairs early to rest."
"It’s fine; young folks do make mistakes; it’s never easy. We’ve all been through the same; don’t be too harsh on the young ones," Father Edwards chuckled to soothe the situation, seeing Amber about to speak, he shot her a glance to silence her with a humph.

"This was a misunderstanding, about the event planning proposal. Emily didn’t know it was Jane Sampson and Hannah who drafted it. An intern at our company, with a big ambition, saw the plan, took it away, and submitted it under his name, which caused such a misunderstanding. Had Emily known the event planning proposal was made by Jane Sampson and Hannah, we would definitely have sought your opinion and approval if we intended to use it," Father Lancaster explained. "Our company is quite large and knows all the procedures."
"Knowing the procedures is one thing, but if someone decides to be shameless, knowing won’t help," Amber murmured quietly.
"You stay quiet," Father Edwards reprimanded Amber.
"I’m just speaking the truth, and you’re stopping me?" After being scolded, Amber got even angrier, directly exclaimed, "I’m not an idiot, Amber Edwards isn’t a fool. For such an important event planning proposal, how could it be handed over to others? That day, I went directly to Lancaster’s wood business, handed it to Emily myself, and personally explained the plan to her. And now you’re talking about your intern, what, you think Amber Edwards would just let things slide like an idiot?"
Amber refused to spare anyone’s feelings, "What intern, what temp worker, just scapegoats! Trying to fool me? Emily did this on purpose! Acting friendly on the surface while deliberately making me a fool, hitting me with a slap right on my face."
Amber stood up, stating, "Dad, I’ll make it clear now! If my brother wants to marry Amber Edwards, I’m the first one to disagree!"
