Emilia’s POV

Seeing me silent, Sebastian left my room and closed the door.

The second Sebastian left my room, I collapsed onto the bed and grabbed the pillow, twisting it like I was wringing his arrogant neck.

Eloping? Flirting?

Those accusations made my blood boil. False. Every single one of them. And if I ever caught him with another woman? He’d better pray to the Moon Goddess for mercy.

The door suddenly swung open.

I jumped, sitting up abruptly on the bed, and asked, "What’s wrong?"

Sebastian stood in the doorway, his face carved from stone. "Write down my number."

I blinked. I paused for a moment, then deliberately tried to embarrass him by asking, "Oh? Who was it that said we didn’t need to exchange numbers when I asked yesterday?"

"Stop fooling around and write it down!" he scolded.

The embarrassment flickering in his eyes made my mood instantly lift. "Fine. Go ahead."

"(847) 555***"

"Got it?" he demanded.

"Yep."

"Call me."

I hit the button. A moment later, his phone buzzed in his pocket. He turned and left satisfied, not even bothering to close the door.

"He won’t even close the door, how rude," I muttered.

I grumbled as I walked toward the door to close it. Just as I reached out my hand, Sebastian suddenly appeared in front of me again, startling me. I asked in confusion, "What now?"

"From now on, you’re home by ten," he said flatly. "No exceptions."

"And if I’m not?"

"Then don’t bother coming back."

I crossed my arms. "Does this curfew apply to everyone in this house, or just me?"

He raised one eyebrow like I’d just asked the dumbest question in the world.

"What do you think?" he asked me back.

Then he slid the painting shut between us without another word.

The next morning, I woke up earlier than usual, determined to sneak out before Sebastian could torment me again.

Except he was already awake.

And packing a suitcase.

I walked over in surprise and asked in confusion, "What are you doing? Are you so mad at me that you’re running away from home?"

He glanced up lazily. "Don’t you think you’ve gotten a lot more mouthy lately?"

He had a point. Back at the Taylor house, I’d barely spoken unless necessary. But with Sebastian—this man the world called a monster—I had no fear at all. In fact, when he wasn’t losing his temper, he was almost... cute.

"Okay, seriously. Where are you going?" I asked seriously.

"Business trip," he said, zipping the suitcase shut.

He pulled out his phone and spoke into it. "Are you here yet?"

A tired voice came through. "I’ve been waiting for an hour..."

"I’m coming down now." He hung up, grabbed his suitcase, and headed for the door.

Then he paused and turned back. "Finally. A few days without seeing your annoying face. What a blessing."

I smiled sweetly. "Likewise."

As his footsteps gradually faded away, I let out a long sigh and stretched.

Then I saw it—his passport, sitting on the nightstand.

Oh, hell no.

I grabbed it and bolted after him. I had finally looked forward to a few days of peace, and he couldn’t be forced to cancel his trip because he forgot his passport.

Downstairs, a few servants were cleaning. They nodded respectfully. "Good morning, Luna Emilia."

I nodded back quickly and rushed outside.

The car was already pulling away.

"Wait!" I shouted, waving the passport in the air. "Stop!"

Through the rearview mirror, Sebastian’s eyes snapped open. He saw me running and immediately ordered, "Stop the car."

The car halted. He stepped out, leaning casually against the door with his arms folded. He watched me trying to catch my breath. He teased calmly, "You don’t want me to leave?"

I rolled my eyes and shoved the passport between his crossed arms. "I’m just afraid you can’t leave."

A smooth, amused voice interrupted. "Is this your bride?"

I turned.

A handsome man with gentle features and a warm smile stood beside the car. He looked polite, easygoing—nothing like Sebastian.

I nodded slowly. "You are...?"

"Fynn Jaymond. Sebastian’s Beta." He paused, eyes twinkling. "And his lover. Nice to meet you."

My brain short-circuited.

"Lover?"

I stared at Sebastian, waiting for him to deny it.

He didn’t.

He just slid back into the car like nothing happened.

"Emilia," Fynn said gently, still holding out his hand. "I’ve been standing here all day."

I shook his hand numbly.

"Well, we should get going. Airport and all,"Beta Fynn said cheerfully.

"Wait," I blurted, grabbing his sleeve. I lowered my voice. "What’s the relationship between you two?"

Fynn glanced at Sebastian, then leaned in conspiratorially. "Truth is, we’re in a homosexual relationship."

My stomach dropped.

I bent down to the car window. "Didn’t you say you weren’t gay?"

Sebastian ignored me completely and glared at Fynn. "Get in the car."

Fynn hopped in, waving cheerfully. "Don’t worry, Emilia! I’ll keep Sebastian company. He won’t be lonely..."

The car roared off, leaving a cloud of dust in its wake.

I stood there, choking on the dust—or maybe on the mental image of Fynn "keeping Sebastian company."

No wonder he hates women so much. He likes men.

But he’d denied it before. So why didn’t he deny it now?

My head spun. What am I supposed to do if my husband is actually gay?

I walked back home listlessly and found that Tiffany was already up, taking a walk in the garden. Seeing my dejected appearance, Tiffany immediately asked.

"What’s wrong?"
