Claimed by the Mad Lycan King

Chapter 110: THE FIRE

"What is the meaning of this?" Zade asked. He stared down at the silver on his wrist. The three alphas had taken him out of the hall to the other side of the building.

There were surveillance cameras there, but Zade was sure if they were crazy enough to take him here, they would have taken care of such evidence.

"We asked one last time." Alpha Axel looked at Zade; his jaw hardened. "Annul your announcement about your mate."

Zade raised his brows; he had expected that he would receive a backlash from them for standing his ground to have Seara as his mate and even made it official by announcing it.

However, he didn’t expect they would move this fast.

"The audacity to tell me what I should do," Zade scoffed. "What makes you think you have the right?"

"She is a runt. She doesn’t have a wolf spirit; you shouldn’t have indulged yourself with her." Alpha Kai stared at Zade with anger in his eyes. "You are the Lycan king, and you should know better than this and find a mate that suits your status. Such a decision is unacceptable."

Alpha Kai was an old man in his fifties, while Alpha Axel was a year younger than him, but even then, they were shifters, and they were still in their prime.

And from the look of it, they were ready to shift and attack Zade if he refused to bend to their demand.

But it was a mistake on their part to think they could bend the will of a Lycan. It was a crazy idea to begin with.

The fact that Zade had been their patron for so long, raising them to power and authority among the other packs, didn’t mean the three of them could start to dictate what he could do or what he couldn’t do.

It was so bold of them to think they were on the same level as the Lycan.

"King Zade, you can’t choose a runt as your mate. They have been a bad sign since ancient times. With you being with her, you will bring bad luck to the kingdom. You have to consider it," Alpha Maverick said righteously.

He was the youngest of the three of them and might as well have been the strongest. Since they outnumbered Zade and had him wear a silver bracelet on his wrist, they believed they had a chance.

"She was not born as a runt; she was poisoned," Zade said grimly. His patience was running low, and then he sensed a few more warriors came closer.

Great. So, they had planned all of their actions thoroughly and even summoned more warriors to support them.

"What are you planning? Killing me?" Zade tilted his head. At least there were ten warriors surrounding him.

"We don’t want to resort to violence, King Zade, but if you left us with no other choice..." Alpha Axel had half-shifted; it was a clear threat to the king.

Seeing that, Zade laughed grimly. He had been very lenient with them and supported them throughout their time as the alphas of their packs; he kept their pack as his most loyal pack, but from the look of it, this leniency had inflated their heads and egos.

"Is that a threat?" Zade tilted his head. His beast clawed at the edge of his mind, demanding blood from these mutts in response to their threat.

Obviously, a Lycan didn’t accept threats very well.

"We ask you to reconsider it," Alpha Axel said, but he gestured for the other warriors to shift into their wolf forms.

They hesitated for a second, but it was a direct order from their alpha; thus, there was nothing they could do.

"There is nothing to consider."

It was a good thing that Zade could smoke these people out sooner, and they foolishly confronted him head-on, so there was no need for underhand action, which would have required more effort and resources to identify the traitor among his people.

Jane kept Seara close to her as they went to a safe place. Jeremy was with them the whole time too, and when they were escorted to a different car, he found it weird.

"Where are my parents? Where are Ace and Zephyr?" Jeremy asked the warriors who escorted them to the car the whereabouts of his parents, Ace and Zephyr.

"They had been moved to a safe place," one of the warriors said.

Meanwhile, Seara was trying to find Neriah among so many people who came out of the buildings. She was upset with her, but she didn’t want anything bad to befall her.

"I think Neriah is still inside," Seara said to Jane. She clutched her hand tightly.

"Don’t worry, one of the warriors has taken Neriah to a safe place." The other warrior informed Seara when he heard what she said.

"Where exactly is the safe place?" Jeremy instinctively stood in front of Jane and Seara.

"They are in the Royal Sunshine apartment, ten minutes away from here. The royal beta and the royal gamma had gone to find the king after they ensured your parents were in the safe place," the warrior replied without stuttering. His answer was very precise and left no room to doubt him.

"We need to get there immediately," the second warrior said.

But Jeremy raised his finger. "Hold on. I am going to call them first." He made a phone call to both his father and mother, but neither of them picked up.

"I don’t know. If you want to know, you can go there and find out yourself." The warrior looked pissed now due to Jeremy’s defiance.

"No, something is not right here." Jeremy narrowed his eyes. He couldn’t communicate with Jane through mindlink because they were not that close, and Jeremy was not like the Lycans.

"What are you waiting for? We need to leave now." The three of them became more agitated, which only made Jeremy even more suspicious.

Meanwhile, in the distance, the fire grew even bigger as firefighters arrived on the scene.
