The Old Village Chief watched Lin Beichen with such resolve and couldn’t help but nod repeatedly, secretly praising himself for not misjudging the person.

James is reaping what he sowed. He did so many bad things, and even after learning that Lin Beichen couldn’t touch him, he continued to laugh arrogantly, which completely enraged Lin Beichen. The Old Village Chief watched everything attentively.

Actually, if James were smarter, he should have escaped while the village chief was speaking to Lin Beichen. But he was overly confident, believing that Lin Beichen really couldn’t touch him, so he remained unmoving.

A single Birdman may not be strong, but two working together are quite formidable. Lin Beichen started to struggle.

"Damn it!"

Under their fierce attack, Lin Beichen gradually showed signs of defeat.

If this continued, Lin Beichen would eventually be defeated by them. Therefore, the Old Village Chief could no longer sit idly by; he had to intervene.

The Old Village Chief stepped in. He extended a hand, and an invisible force surged from his palm, flinging one of the Birdmen against the cliff.

The Birdman was left dizzy and disoriented. They were initially focusing all their attention on Lin Beichen and never expected a sudden attack.

The other Birdman, seeing the Old Village Chief’s strength, thought he could easily take down Lin Beichen. He didn’t expect the old man standing by to intervene. He initially thought the old man was just a bystander, but now it seemed he had underestimated him.

Their attack was too fierce, and the Old Village Chief couldn’t stand it anymore, so he helped Lin Beichen.

If Lin Beichen had someone to contend against them, the Old Village Chief would not have interfered. He would have let them fight fairly.

The Birdman began to have thoughts of retreat, wanting to flee immediately. He didn’t want to be beaten like the other Birdman, which would be too humiliating. In the West, they were always touted by the Church Court as divine; everyone kept their distance, and no one dared to harm them.

However, today was their first time venturing into Eastern territory to duel with Lin Beichen. They thought everything was under control, but didn’t expect someone to aid Lin Beichen.

Now he wanted to escape, but how could Lin Beichen let either of them go?

Keeping them would only lead to endless troubles. If he could eliminate them, future problems would reduce significantly.

When he saw the Birdman attempting to flee, Lin Beichen cut him off from behind, forcibly tearing off the Birdman’s pair of wings.

"Trying to escape? None of you will get away!"

Lin Beichen was immensely grateful to the Old Village Chief for stepping in when he was about to be overwhelmed. He was almost unable to withstand the fierce attacks from the two Birdmen and was looking for an opportunity to flee.

Just as he was about to run, he didn’t expect the Old Village Chief to directly strike and hurl one Birdman to the cliff.

With that, he was able to handle the other Birdman.

However, when he was about to counterattack, he noticed the Birdman wanted to flee. How could Lin Beichen give him the chance to escape?

These Western Church followers dared to rampage on Eastern soil; letting them go was a dream. Because of their numerous misdeeds, whenever Lin Beichen encountered Westerners, he would never let them escape his grasp.

He swiftly reached behind the Birdman, forcibly tearing off his wings.

Now, the Birdman’s back was covered in blood, and the air was filled with a thick smell of blood.

With this, the Birdman could not escape.

Otherwise, he would flap his wings to escape, and Lin Beichen, an ordinary person, couldn’t fly. It would be much harder to capture him again.

Now it was settled; the Birdman had been turned into a terrestrial creature by Lin Beichen, never to fly again.

Despite the savage nature of the process, it seemed insignificant...

"Ouch, it hurts like hell!" The Birdman never imagined that Lin Beichen would be so ruthless.

He intended to quickly flee this place of trouble but never anticipated he’d be one step too slow, caught by Lin Beichen who tore off his wings.

Those wings were symbols of his identity. Now, with Lin Beichen tearing them off, his identity was lost as well.

However, it was no big deal; as long as Lin Beichen didn’t take his life, the wings would eventually grow back.

"Please, don’t kill me, spare me! Attacking you wasn’t intentional."

He knelt on the ground, begging Lin Beichen for mercy. As long as the green hills remain, there’s no fear of running out of firewood; he absolutely couldn’t let Lin Beichen take his life.

"Why should I spare you?"

Lin Beichen looked at his miserable state, finding it utterly amusing. When they ganged up to attack him, did they spare him a chance? Now, falling into his hands, they began to beg for mercy.

Did he seem like a soft touch? At least, he didn’t think so.

Since the Birdman wanted to beg for his life, he wanted to see what eloquent words the Birdman could muster to persuade him to spare his life.

If the Birdman’s words satisfied him, perhaps he could be merciful and spare him; but if the Birdman thought it was taken for granted that he would be spared, he wouldn’t show any mercy.

"I am loyal to the Western Church Court, and this time I came under orders to take James. I didn’t expect you to kill him directly, so I attacked you. We were just following orders, please spare me, I truly won’t dare next time."
