Gatone-Dorgier III, Part 2

"Let's conclude. A little unexpected."

The first day of the meeting in the Gatone-Dorgier plains ended with the evening, making him Commander-in-Chief of the Imperial Army. The Emperor Sergei Romanov gathered senior officers to open a military conference.

The splitter, it is said, emitted the above dialogue.

"Oh, I'm sorry. I'm not feeling weak about anything. The Royal Army is fighting a lot."

"What are you talking about, you were directing without moving a single eyebrow"

Sergei laughed Kutsukutsu, and Deputy Kreutzer answered seriously in dismay.

On the first day of Gatone-Dorgier III, the Imperial Army had done more than 3,000 damage due to attacks that also seemed reckless and the ensuing Royal Army counter-attacks.

It is a pseudo-protrusion to lure the enemy's offense, and thus that although the damage was prepared, 3,000 damage to the boulder was unexpected.

Currently the Imperial Army is arraying on a small high hill in Gatone-Dorgier. Its hill, which overlooks the entire plain, was such an important terrain that the Royal Army also wanted a hand from its throat, that the first evening in fact was a battle for the hill.

But the battle also ended to the extent of skirmishes as a result of the careful movement of the Royal Army.

"The Royal Army was also cautious about counter-attacks. If you make too many deliberate moves, your enemies may be forced to break through this trap. Regardless of the advantages of numbers, the interest of the land rests with them. It's wiser not to be alarmed."

And one of the staff members speaks.

The Plain of Gatone-Dorgier is a place where the Imperial Army has also fought twice in the past, but that is all. Since the backyard is the same for the Royal Army, and no king's people, it is offset no matter how many interests it has when it is fought to take advantage of its natural terrain.

Moreover, in this case, the Imperial Army has not had the benefit of numbers for a while.

"Your Majesty. Our legions have advanced more rapidly than the rest, so without any benefit in number, the strength and morale of the soldiers are diminished. Besides, this defeat in the fight is going to have a big impact on your future behavior, right?

The staff member opinions without even cowering the emperor in front of him.

If you are an emperor below, you may resent that statement as disrespectful. But Sergei, this emperor, as a soldier and commander-in-chief, was a man of vessels, which proves in this war.

"So what do we do with the staff?

"… at least we should wait for an army of His Excellency Senior Admiral Schrematev, who is due to arrive as a second line. If you get the benefit of numbers, the disadvantage on the ground can be easily overridden, and that alone can crush your enemies. In this situation, I wonder if it makes sense to get on with the enemy's idea of showdown."

"I see, it makes sense"

Sergei smiles joyfully in the wake of the opinions of his staff, which can also be received as criticism. I'm just saying I've been waiting for a fight like this. That grin was something slightly creepy, something that adds to Sergei's charm.

After a few seconds of thought, Sergei did not adopt the opinion of the staff member.

"May I ask why?

"Oh. The biggest thing is - I can't give you any details because this is a secret to you guys - but it's for political reasons. For political reasons, I can't relax and have a long fight. I want to 'fight' with the Royal Silesian Army here and sharpen the military power of his country as much as possible."

"Political, is it"

"Ah, the loot is set for the early winner and the market."

The words were echoed as convinced by several high-ranking officers, including staff officers. I see, if that's the reason, we should certainly make the Royal Silesian Army disappear painfully here and now, he said.

On the other hand, the unknown thought was to ask those who found out later.

"There's no other fine reason. But there's no reason. If the Royal Army escapes here and rebuilds the front and sticks, this one too, because it has to have a head for the problem of the barracks and the problem of the war dead. War depends on how you reduce your own casualties."

"So you think we're coming to a showdown here?

"It's more efficient"

Say it, Sergei laughs again.

What the staff member felt at this time was anxiety that Sergei was talented as a "war freak (warmonger)," and that he preferred the war itself.

I wonder how his work, insane both in internal affairs and in the military, will guide the empire in its fulfilment.

"But Your Majesty. Whatever the political reasons, it doesn't make sense if you win here. Is there anything you can do?

Instead of a staff member obsessed with thinking, ask questions as if Kreutzer would speak for him. He is an old friend of Sergei, so Sergei's thoughts can be read as they deserve, so this means he has given the opportunity to explain to other officers.

"Well."

But Sergei just said that.

With a smile on his face that he might be thinking something bad again.

"Can you tell us what to do?

Kreutzer listens even more deeply.

What tactics exactly will defeat the Royal Army? A high-ranking officer awaited His Majesty the Emperor's proposal.

But the words that Sergei unleashed drained the lives of the Imperial Army generals.

"We're sending the truce messenger to the Royal Army."

After a long and long silence, non-Kreutzer officers opened their mouths simultaneously.

"" "... what?

Kreutzer, the only one who reacted differently, glanced over his shoulder to see what his old friend intended.

Satisfied with the reaction of such puzzling staff and Kreutzer, the emperor informed them of the plot he had contemplated.

And the second day of the showdown begins.
