Count Scribe's Tutor

Chapter 4. Command Post (4)

Archdut's knight, Arlene Shiad.

His life was on the monotonous side.

You compete with your colleagues in the morning for sword training and in the afternoon.

Occasionally, in the Monster Subjugation Season, we join forces in the Subjugation.

Sundays are all about relaxing at home or going out for a walk.

But I was given a mission recently.

It was Shayne Archdut's attrition to serve as his lord.

‘Watch what Ferda Inoside does. ’

The contents of the command were simple.

Watching a man who has recently become a homeroom teacher of three.

I didn't say why, but I had a guess.

‘You said Maxine was missing. ’

Maxian Alto.

Knight of Shane Archdut and a successor to Arene.

I've just reached the peak of Expert Intermediate. A few years later, he was talented enough to outrun Arene.

It's nothing compared to Ferda Inoside.

‘No matter how high you hit, Expert Rookie. ’

That's exactly what Arene saw Ferda do.

So when Maxine first went missing, I thought he had nothing to do with Ferda. The gap between beginner and intermediate Exports is quite large.

But you can't argue with the Lord's orders.

He's been keeping an eye on Ferda since the day the tide came down. From morning to evening to midnight. And the conclusion was, "It's not that different from what I expected. ’.

‘Not him. ’

It had nothing to do with Maxine's disappearance. That's what Aren said.

I was going to report it on the day I watched for six days.

Unfortunately, that morning, something happened.

Ferda was secretly heading out of the castle. Of course, he didn't have a permit.

Arlene feels uncomfortable and goes straight behind Ferda.

After a long time.

Ferda's arrival was in a ruin in the north of the city.

Perda enters one of the many lung homes on the street. Watching this, Aren mutters curiously.

"Why are you here?"

I looked around to see if there was anything hidden, but nothing came out. Arlene, who was wandering around, decided to take a look at Ferda's lost estate.

But there was no Ferda.

Instead, there is a large hole in the floor.

One man's hole big enough to fit in.

"Is there something down here?"

Arene's eyes glow coldly.

A moment later, Aren decides to throw himself toward the hole.

* * *

The hole was quite deep.

As expected, Aren landed safely on the ground with his hands and feet against the wall. Then he climbs up the passageway that would lead him to.

Not long after that.

A spectacular scene appeared in Arene's vision.

"This is · · · · · · · · ·."

His eyes narrow.

As soon as I saw the scene in front of my eyes, I had the first thought.

"I've heard rumors of an underground market, but · · · · · · ·."

There were rumors like that once. There's an enormous underground market in the city. It's an illegal territory to trade anything that is not handled on land.

At the time, I thought it was a urban legend.

However, after seeing the truth, I was speechless. Arlene, standing still, soon realizes what she's up to.

"I wish I could have blown up an old war machine."

I wish I could have left a mark.

I regretted it, but it was too late.

Arene has now been given two options.

Stand down from here and announce the existence of the underground market to the Earl.

Chasing after Ferda a little more, figuring out what he's up to.

I didn't have much to worry about. Aren immediately moves his body.

‘Rob, and go. ’

All the guests wore robes and masks.

He wore a silly bunny mask, as if he had taken it from someone.

But Aren didn't have to. He's not here to buy.

After a while, Ferda enters a store.

"The warmth of the dead? ’

A store with a strange name. What are they buying?

Arlene looks around the shop. Then I noticed something good. The ceiling of the store and the vents. Through there, you can eavesdrop on the conversation inside the store.

It took me 10 seconds to put my thoughts into action.

Thud

It smells nasty. Arene creeps out, frowning. Finally, I heard Ferda's voice as I approached the center of the store.

‘I am not alone. ’

He was talking to someone.

Probably the shopkeeper. Aren focused as much on his hearing as he could. Immediately, the conversation started to clear up.

‘Commander's Herb. Durahan. Transactions? ’

Some strange words popped out.

Arene's face hardens as the conversation continues.

‘We must inform the Lord. ’

I don't know what they're trying to do. It just smelled dangerous.

It was the intuition of a man who had lived by a time-honored knight.

"Will you accept the offer?"

"· · · · · · If that's true."

"Deal's a deal. Wait a little longer."

Just in time, the conversation inside the store was finished.

Aren leans back to get out of here. But at that moment!

Qajik!

"· · · · · ·!"

Something pops up from below. It was a sharp dagger.

You aim for the black arena's neck and fly exactly.

You twist with instinct to dodge the attack, then curl up immediately.

Kwaek! Kwaek!

The ceiling then collapsed.

Arlene walks into the store and draws his sword without hesitation.

I can't help it if I get caught. We have to do it as quickly as possible and retreat.

That was the decision I made!

"Eat this."

Tsk, tsk!

Ferda throws out a reagent.

Black smoke rises as the glass bottle breaks.

A perm that covers its nose and mouth with sleeves. Arene's eyes narrow when she sees this.

‘Could it be poison!? ’

That's a pretty good guess.

The smoke filled the store in an instant. Aren covers his nose and mouth during the Golden Age, just like Ferda did.

But it was a setback.

Phew! Phew!

There's something stuck under your knee. No, it went through. Like an arrow.

Arlene frowns in the pain that continues. Soon after that, he lost his balance and twisted.

The hunter hiding in the smoke never misses this opportunity.

Kwaek!

"Huff!"

Along with a single scream, a dagger is inserted into Arene's throat.

A dagger full of Mana. I struggled, but it was just a useless move.

Soon, Aren slumps down like a dead fish.

Ferda picks up the dagger and throws the smoke out with her arms. He looks at the stiff old man and talks to him.

"It's the promised ingredient."

A cold word.

The old man is furious as if he were covered in ice water.

Then I opened my lips trembling.

"What the hell is this?"

"You can't be any fresher now that you've just died."

"That's what I'm talking about!"

Excited old man raised his voice.

A man died right in front of me. Of course, it's not the first time I've seen someone die. No commander is surprised that someone died in the first place.

The old man was surprised to learn that Arene was really an Expert intermediate and that Ferda had killed such a skilled person in the blink of an eye.

"Phew."

An old man who took a deep breath to calm his mind.

Soon, he cautiously approaches Aren. But after a while, the old man who discovered something was shocked.

I was so surprised that I hit my butt on the floor.

"The ship, the Earl's knight?!"

The old man's eyes grew as big as a lamp.

It was because I saw the uniform that Aren was wearing. There was a silver curtain hanging from the emblem of the archduke.

"What have you done?! Boat, Earl! · · · · · · · · · · Knights of the nobles!"

The old man screams, terrified to identify Arene. He was in a panic.

Ferda stares at the old man like he's pathetic.

"Does Durahan wear clothes?"

"What, what?"

"I'll put my head in my helmet anyway. We could burn a uniform or something. I'm not worried about getting caught."

An indifferent tone, as if speaking from a stranger.

The old man trembles. But my mind flashed.

It made sense to me. Yeah, we don't want to get caught.

Only the old man and Ferda know that Aren is the Earl's knight.

"· · · · · · I can't help it."

The decision was quick.

With a dry sigh, the old man accepted the reality.

Then he looks at Ferda and draws a solid line.

"However, I only received the materials. I don't know anything about his identity."

"An unidentified body. Suit yourself."

Tsk, tsk, tsk.

The answer to the deal was a signal.

The old man picks the dried Commander Candle out of the drawer and stacks it up.

"Twenty roots of Commander's Herb. Hurry up and take it."

This way, the sheep is quite good.

Ferda packed the Commander's Candle in the sack she had prepared. I didn't care about the product spoiling because I was going to use it anyway.

"By the way."

Then the old man opened his mouth.

There was a voice mixed with interest and concern.

"Seeing as you're buying that amount of Commander's Candle, is there anyone who wants to be a commander around here?"

"I thought you didn't ask about each other?"

"I'm not trying to pry. I'm trying to advise you."

"Advice?"

Ferda asks, and the old man nods.

"You have three days to wake up. Or a week later."

"Why?"

"A group of pilgrims soon pass through here."

"· · · · · ·."

"I don't care what happens to you, but I don't want to see any fire in me."

Ferda narrows her eyes at the old man's words.

This story was not in the novel.

However, the doubt soon subsided.

‘Maybe it's because there's no need to explain. ’

It was only after the middle ages that the realm began to walk the path of the commander. Throughout every season, there was never a season to become a commander in the early stages like this.

"I see. I'll take that as a reference."

After a short answer, Ferda hides herself.

The old man sighs as he looks at the shop.

"Phew, what a mess."

When did you get rid of all this? I sighed deeply.

But wait a minute. The old man who saw Arene's body raises his mouth.

"Lucky day."

The greedy eyes glow.

The old man smiled satisfactorily.
