Chapter 19. Heron the Forest Keeper (1)

Chapter 19

Forest Keeper Heron

Born in the forest, lives with the forest and dies for the forest.

That is the noble destiny of the High Elves.

It was the mission of the Forest Keeper to protect the Serenek Forest.

* * *

I was surrounded by destiny, but in fact, the Forestry Keeper did nothing. Occasionally, it was enough to drive out intruders looking for forests or to coordinate the heterogenous uprisings in the forests.

Of course, simplicity was not neglectful of the mission. The destiny of the High Elves wasn't so light. All I remember in the meantime is losing my left arm in battle and replacing it with a branch of the world's number.

For over a hundred years, I protected the forest. Around that time, a human found a forest on the outside. She was a girl named Solar.

Sola was a mysterious child. I was curious and not afraid of new things. In just three months, I learned the perfect Elvish language.

Above all else, Sola's gaze was always on him. And one day, I knew it was love, waiting for the day Sola came.

The day the spring rains stop. We loved each other, and the following year we had a daughter. His name was Radina. It means "forest" in the language of the Hielves. Sola smiles, saying it's perfect for a forest keeper.

Radina has decided to raise Sola. The forest wasn't the right environment to raise a child. I spent 4 years sweeter than honey. I can see every day clearly engraved in my brain.

And the fifth summer. The tragedy begins.

On the day of the rainy season, humans suddenly invaded the forest. As a ranger, I fought and defeated them all. After returning to the nest, Sola is dying. I tried everything I could to save her, but it was too late.

Then Sola said, People from the desert took Radina. Sola closes her eyes after asking for her daughter.

And that day, I left the forest for the first time.

* * *

I searched the entire desert. I arrived at my destination shortly after But what was there was Radina, who was dying with a scream in her heart, and a shaman with her soul in a box.

The work of believing the superstition that half-elves' souls bring eternal life. Enraged by rage, I killed all the humans involved. Later, when I returned to the forest with Radina's treasured chest, I learned the whole story.

It was designed by the Catfishmen who took pity on the fact that one Forest Keeper ruled the great magnificence of the forest. It was all the Cat Tribe that informed the Desert Humans of the existence of Half Elves in the Forest and the nest of the Forest Keeper.

Anger consumes reason. All the plagued Cadits knew this and hated and could not stand the other clans who tolerated it. After that day, the Forest Keeper abandoned the forest. And then the vengeance began.

The first target is the Cadits. For a week, not even one grave digger was left. From then on, I knew this and executed the wandering clan. But revenge didn't last long. To subdue the furious Forest Keepers, the clans of all the forests gathered together.

Eventually, the Forest Keeper met his end in the nest. I loved the forest more than anyone, but when I was dying, I cursed it more than anyone else. I closed my eyes, determined to live for revenge if I came back to life.

After a short time, I opened my eyes again. What was in front of me was a huge darkness. Worshiped by the dead as "All Death." It proposed a sudden contract.

‘I'll get you out of the abyss. Instead, raise an army of the dead by my command and condemn all creatures of this forest to their death. ’

I accepted the offer, of course, because I died in vengeance. I raised an army of the dead as promised. And I was about to announce my second act of revenge.

I faced death once again.

‘It's pointless.’

Death as an undead is the end of everything. The rotting body will crumble like sand and the soul will burn like ashes. I think that's what all death said one day.

Now that I think it's really over, I feel more empty than the first death.

And I immediately regretted it.

‘· · · · · · · Ladina. ’

It's because I remembered who I left behind. His lovely daughter, Radina. A box with his soul is buried at the end of this cemetery. When I thought of my daughter who was going to be left alone, I felt sorry for her first.

Rather than revenge, you'll find a way to save her soul. Or I'll take your daughter's soul to the temple and comfort her. I regretted the folly of the past for not doing so.

‘If it comes back to life.' ’

Then I'd put everything down and live for my daughter.

But I know this wish cannot be fulfilled. He said that naming is all death. All that's left for him to do is to regretfully collapse.

But in that moment,

‘ · · · · · ·! ’

Suddenly, the black darkness clears.

What followed was a greater darkness. No, I think the night sky is right.

What is it?

I was confused about the sudden change.

You squeeze the darkness and hear someone's voice.

"Are you sober now?"

I opened my eyes with an atlantic voice. When the night sky was lifted up, the first thing I saw was a cloudy sky. Subsequently, the earth caught my attention, smelling the fog, dry weeds, and death.

This is where he raised the army of the dead. While I was dumbstruck, I suddenly tried to move my body. Before he died completely, his severed arm and leg were intact.

"· · · · · · · How?"

You were able to come back to life, right?

Isn't death as an undead the end of everything?

I felt confused. And then the voice continued.

"My name is Silvan Archdut. We're spheres, right?"

A sphere? You turn your head to it.

I saw a boy with golden eyes in silver hair. Now I remember. The intruder who came here. The last thing I remember was pointing an arrow at that boy.

There was another instinctive feeling.

Second life given. That he was the one who did the favor. There were a lot of questions about that. But for now, the question comes first. In the past, when I opened my eyes as an undead, I asked all death as well.

"· · · · · · Why did you bring me back to life?"

Every death had a purpose. So I brought him back.

Then there must be a purpose for the child named Silvan as well.

What kind of answer would that child give? Revenge? Or to show off your anger as a commander? At the time of all the speculations, the realm opened its eyes and replied.

"Huh? Just."

You just saved him?

There won't be an answer as faint as I am. The car looked at him in a strange way, but it was an elongated word.

"I originally wanted to take control, but I didn't want to do that, so I thought I'd try it like this, but it's true. Oh, of course, in the process."

The fact that he began to talk about how he had been brought back to life. I ignored all the stories because I wasn't interested. Then, in reality, I suddenly thought of something, turning to a cold conversation.

"Oh, by the way, what's your name?"

"I've forgotten that before."

It was given to me by a forest keeper's destiny in the first place.

But he is no longer a forest keeper. So there's no name. So I tried to keep my mouth shut, but I couldn't help but notice that someone had his name.

"Heron Wiggers."

Suddenly, you turn your head.

I see a man with a blue head tied down. I was surprised how I knew his name, but that's all. So I tried to ignore it. However, I couldn't ignore the following words.

"Don't you want to bring Radina back to life?"

"· · · · · ·!"

As soon as I heard the name, my body reacted. As soon as I got up from my seat, I reached out my arms. Then he grabbed the man's collar at the same time.

A face that is disgustingly relaxed. I tried so hard to put my fist through it. I have more important questions right now.

"Man, where did you get that name?"

"Get your hands off me, now."

At that moment, a cold voice sounded like thunder.

As soon as I heard this, I was exhausted. The hand that grabbed my neck slumps down. Where did you hear that? Why else would he do this? By the time I thought about it, someone said it again.

"Get on your knees and hit your head."

Kung

My body moved by itself according to that word. Then I knew who the owner of the voice was. It was the craftsman who brought him back.

His face is very stiff. As if I had never seen such a innocent face before. As I approached, I crouched. Then he whispered in a small voice.

"· · · · · Be warned, do not touch Ferda again. I don't want to be a road cadaver."

My body trembled at the words of the realm.

It was strange. I thought you couldn't feel the cold as an undead. I didn't feel like refuting that word again. I just keep my head down because I can't resist the pressure.

After a while, the reality woke up.

"I'm sorry, Ferda. I won't be caught by your neck anymore."

Ferda nods, looking at the awkward smile.

You stroke his head and open your mouth.

"I found this in the cemetery earlier."

A familiar black box. The moment I saw it, I almost ran again without knowing it. However, my body was stiffened by the voice of reality that I suddenly heard.

"Huh? What is that?"

"A box of Radina's soul."

"Ladina?"

"His daughter. It says so on the memorial stone."

Ferda summarized the story of the day. After a while, he nodded and said again, as if he understood.

"By the way,"

"Huh?"

"Speaking of souls here, can you use Necromancy to possess an object?"

In fact, Ferda accepts the box. I looked around and replied with a quiet reply.

"Well, I think it's possible."

What the hell are they talking about?

Embedding your daughter's soul into an object? Nonsense. That can't be right. It is a tricky technique that even makes an unclean spirit immerse in an object. How could you let a living soul possess an object? I've never heard of such a thing.

Then Ferda calls back.

"My disciple is a very capable commander. I will bring you back to life once more, as undead."

I'll give you that. You're definitely good at it.

But command and necromancy are different things. Even ‘All Death’ was at its peak in command, but I thought necromancy was hard.

"Let me ask you again. Heron Wiggers."

But strangely, I felt moved. Is it because of the way he looks? Or are you tired after a long time? I don't know why, but I thought it would be sturdy.

At the same time, he asked.

"Don't you want to be reunited with your daughter?"

"· · · · · · · · If."

When I opened my tightly closed mouth, a scratching voice came out.

I turned my head to look at the reality. A golden glow that burns silently. After a while, Heron tightens his head toward the realm. Then I earnestly pleaded earnestly.

"If I ever truly see Radina again, I will gladly live as your servant. I promise you everything."

There was no need to hesitate.

He will, too, fulfill what he never dreamed he would.

If it were so, I could sacrifice not only loyalty, but also soul. So I gave up the attitude I had struggled with in front of all death. Soon after, I heard the answer I was waiting for.

"To do that, you have to fit the spirit and the wavelength."

"Wavelengths?"

"I'm talking about things that we've lived with before. Do you have anything?"

There was one thing that came to mind.

When Radina was first called Dad, he made her a present.

"Yes, of course. I'll show you right away."

As soon as I thought of this, I immediately bowed my head.

Then he walked directly beyond the fog.
