Count Scribe's Tutor

Chapter 33. Return (2)

Walking a rough mountain path.

Joon stares at Robert with a worried face.

“Your Grace, take me on your back. ”

It was because I felt like I was going to fall down quickly because I was sweating a lot. But Robert grins as if he's doing just fine.

“No, it's okay. It's packed. Ugh!”

Robert swallows a false wind. It was because the bridge was shattered in the air. Suddenly, the man who grabbed him opens his mouth.

“It's not okay. ”

“Fe, Ser Ferda. ”

“You're slowing down the entire investigation team. ”

The words stop Robert's movements.

I heard about it. Robert is the only one who can walk slowly, sweating.

“So don't stretch. Stay calm. ”

“· · · · · · · Sorry. No offense, but please. ”

Robert nods without a word.

Since then, Ferda's investigation team has sped up. The group crosses a rough mountain path and enters the forest. After a long night of walking, the investigators finally put their destination in front of them.

And I was overwhelmed with despair.

“Uh, why-. ”

“Even though we were in such a hurry. ”

Undead forces climbing the walls of Mullen. Since then, the investigators have lost their horses, seeing the endless number of forces that followed. I was in a hurry to get there sooner, but I guess I was less shocked than the enemy.

Ferda shrugs.

‘Course I am. ’

I expected to arrive later than the Undead, unless it flew in the sky. Unlike Humans, the Undead never tire.

Moreover, they set out for the plain, while the investigators made their way to the rough mountain pass. Under any conditions, the Undead had no choice but to take advantage. Ferda looks over the battlefield, leaving the group standing dumbfounded.

‘I see no death at all. ’

There are no deaths there now. Not only that, there were far fewer of them. Perhaps half of them remain in the keep.

Is it to regain your strength? ’

Rodenhark once said:

Unless we take back the whole body, every death is only half the story. Then we must restore the power to destroy the fortress. When Ferda finished guessing, she turned her eyes to the battlefield again.

Bam! Bam!

You hear a loud explosion between the stars. Flames blaze up and down the undead, rising through the walls.

Joon and Serik open their eyes when they see it.

“That's... ”

“Ronaf Magic Corps! ”

Robert lets out a sigh of relief for both of them.

“Phew, Earl Ronaf is here. Thank goodness."

“Earl Ronaf? ”

That's the first name I've heard of it. I don't think he came from the original.

Ferda tilts her head, followed Robert's explanation.

“Oh, Lord, I don't know. Earl Ronaf is a nobleman of the Neutral Tribe. He protects the eastern border. ”

Paraan Chel-Ronaf.

An Earl with lands in the east. There are two Horse Towers in the territory and the Lord himself is said to be one of the powerful wizards. The Kingdom of Laderon was also the second most powerful sorcerer of your magical army.

Meanwhile, Ferda notices why Robert was relieved.

It was because Earl Ronaf was neutral.

‘Obviously, not many nobles in the kingdom were neutral. ’

The majority of the nobles are in a frenzy to split into the First and Second Sons.

Therefore, taking a sigh of relief means that you are fortunate that no other prince's forces have come as reinforcements.

“But now I don't know what to do. ”

Robert swallows a low groan.

I've decided what to do. Once inside the castle, join Earl Ronaf to inform him of his misdeeds and ask him for his crimes. But the question was how to get into the castle.

Then Ferda opens her mouth.

“I go in when I see the time. ”

“Coming in? How? ”

“There are moments when the enemy is temporarily withdrawn. You can go in then. ”

Even in the Keep.

They step back several times in the middle of a full-scale battle. The reason was simple: to drag the tension of the battle long enough to wait for the enemy to leave a gap.

“But what if · · · · · · · · · · ·. ”

Then Joon muttered with a serious face.

“What happens if Earl Archduke doesn't open the door? ”

That's a pretty good guess.

But Ferda doesn't seem too worried. Rather, he looked at Joon strangely and tilted his head.

“Have you forgotten how to get across the canyon? ”

“Ahh · · · · · · · ·! ”

Then Joon nods reasonably.

Won't you open the gate? It doesn't matter. You just spread the night path through the bridge.

“I'll open the gate, though. There's Earl Ronaf. Would you let the prince die in front of you? ”

Robert then said in a confident voice.

Ferda, on the other hand, looks suspicious.

Do you really think that's how Earl Archdude would react? ’

That vile, cunning bastard? Absolutely not. I'm sure he's using some kind of scar. That's what Ferda thought. Nevertheless, the smile on your mouth did not go away.

I had something in mind.

* * *

Muellen's walls are much higher and firmer than Fort Fort Fort Fort Fort Fort.

It was built a hundred years ago as a lesson for the Barbarians to attack. Nevertheless, the Earl's expression was not good. It was because the shock at Fort Fort Fort Fort Fort had not subsided.

‘If that happens again...' ’

Watching a giant creature tear down a wall in a heartbeat. When the shocking sight came to mind, the Earl closed his eyes. The moment I felt the helplessness spreading throughout my body and trembling with my fists.

“Hostiles are retreating! ”

The undead have begun retreating. It's all thanks to the magnificent work of the Royal reinforcements and the magic soldiers. But it's still early to be relieved. They've been retreating and attacking again and again in the Fortress.

‘You're trying to tire us out. ’

That method is much more effective than continuing to fight. From a defensive standpoint, you'll be overwhelmed with anxiety about when the battle will take place and spend a minute or two.

As the Earl bites his lips tightly, you hear someone's voice beside you.

“Phew! I swear, it's horrible. ”

Men in their early 50s with long grey beards. He holds up an oak staff and stares at the retreating undead.

“Where the hell did they come from? ”

“I don't know. I heard it came out of the desert. ”

The earl sighs and shakes his head. Then I looked at the man again.

His name is Paran Chell Ronaf.

He was a nobleman in the east and once fought in the same battlefield. He steps back and looks at the undead, beginning to make progress. He opens his mouth again.

“But there's one thing I don't understand. ”

“ · · · · · ·? ”

“Why did you abandon a healthy fortress? ”

“I didn't throw it away. It's collapsed.”

“Collapse?”

He tilts his head and explains what happened to the Earl.

After a short while, Pharaohn turns to you in a daze.

“Something big knocked down the wall with its tail? You expect me to believe that now? ”

“I understand that that's hard to believe. But not just me, everyone saw it. ”

The Earl stares at Pharaoh without shaking his eyes.

The gaze of both of them became entangled in the air, and soon it cleared up.

“It doesn't seem like a lie. Are you delusional? ”

Pharaoh was still filled with disbelief. When the Earl refused, he concluded that it was his duty. Then I suddenly opened my mouth with a face that reminded me of something.

“Oh, yes. What happened to Prince Three? ”

“Just as I reported to the royal court. I couldn't find it.”

“Well, he could be in there by now. ”

Pharaoh's gaze is on the undead's army.

Meanwhile, was the subject of the Three Princes awkward? The erl turned the subject elsewhere.

“Now is not the time to care about such things. If this place falls, they'll spread across the kingdom. That's not good enough. ”

“You're right. Where the hell are we replenishing our troops? ”

Pharaoh sighs again.

It was then.

“ · · · · · ·! Southwest! Suspected survivors detected! ”

The knight in the Watchtower vomits a loud shout.

A surprising elasticity erupted from the words. And this cry also entered the ears of Earl Archdut.

“Survivors?”

His eyebrows twitch. When I heard that I was a survivor, I was overwhelmed by an unknown anxiety. At that time, Paran, who borrowed the telescope from his subordinate, stares south-west. A moment later, he opened his eyes wide.

“Inquisitors! The Three Prince's Inquisitors! ”

“What?"

The Earl's face is crumpled all the time.

The anxiety that I did not know turned into reality. Meanwhile, Pharaoh shouts excitedly, not knowing his speed.

“Hurry up and open the door, Huon! ”

“ · · · · · ·. ”

“Now's your chance to stay away from your enemies! So... ”

Fortunately, the undead have retreated far away. So now is the perfect time to send in the investigators. But at that moment, I heard an unexpected answer.

“I can't do that. ”

“· · · · · · · · What? ”

“I can't open the gate. ”

“No, I don't know what that means. ”

“I've been in a fortress. He was an undead using strange magic, disguised as a survivor, and tried to infiltrate the keep. ”

Without blinking an eye, the erl lies in his mouth. By the time Pharaoh's eyes were slightly opened, the Earl began to persuade him again.

“Isn't that strange? The enemy is over 30,000. They're undead, after all. There's no way we can leave a living person on the path we trampled. ”

“· · · · · · · Off. ”

“Respect my decision, Pharaoh. I don't want to lose any more of my men. ”

With a sad look on his face, the Earl lowers his head.

After seeing this, Pharaoh nods.

“You have a point. I've never heard of an undead leaving a living soul behind. ”

You've been deceived. The duchess's mouth twists.

At that moment, the soldiers in the steeple shout in haste.

“I, the enemy is coming! ”

“Battle stations! Take your positions!"

The sky seemed to help the Earl. Pharaohn shrugs the Earl's shoulders and heads into position with the Magic Troops in his charge. A moment later, the Earl looks up and narrows his gaze, looking at the three princes coming to his doorstep.

I don't know how he survived, but... ’

This time it's really over. I will see the end before your eyes.

The Earl's mouth is long torn.

* * *

When the undead attacked Mullen retreated.

Investigators, including Ferda, rush to Mullen as hard as they can.

Not long after that.

The distant gate has now reached its doorstep, but there is still no sign of an opening. Robert arrives at the gate as the investigators' faces turn dark.

“Listen!”

A loud voice echoes out loud.

“I am Robert Dean Laderon! Three Princes of the Realm! Now that you're back with the Inquisitors, open the gates immediately! ”

Robert has officially identified himself. But the walls were still quiet. Robert squirms his eyebrows and tries to scream again.

“Can't you hear me? I · · · · · · · · ·. ”

“Out of my way.”

But Ferda didn't do it because she slapped him. Then Ferda, who called the bridge, pointed at the wall.

“In the bridge, the path that is bitten by night. ”

[It's my turn to play again.]

I'm afraid that's over.

Zachman circle appears in front of the group. I'm used to seeing things now. No one was surprised. Ferda said, touching a large knight.

“You first. Go quickly.”

Then the royal knight stepped forward with a splendid face. To get there before Robert does, to eliminate the risk. Soon after, he reaches the wall.

“Hurry up and go inside. Before they come. ”

Ferda touches the other knights.

But then something unexpected happened.

“Oh, oh! ”

“Sir Johnnie Lerdon! ”

First, the knight who was heading over the wall kicked someone, and then he started falling. The moment everyone shouted in haste as they watched the knight fall from a daze.

Wheelic!

Tough thread wraps around his body and secures it firmly into the air. Ferda untied the thread and grabbed him. When the investigators sighed for relief.

“What the hell are you doing! ”

Robert frowns.

At last, the Royal Knight almost died. How can I not be angry?

Then, a familiar face appeared on the wall.

His identity is no different, Earl Archdute. He looks down at the investigators with fierce eyes and shouts in a cool tone.

“Hmph! You thought we'd be fooled twice! You ugly undead. ”

“Undead! What nonsense. ”

“Archers! Raise your bows! We must defeat them before they reveal themselves! ”

Scary to the end of the Earl's words.

Heave-ho!

Archers point arrows at the wall. A cold smile that soon spread to the Earl's mouth. Robert notices this: Why the gate won't open.

“Yippee! Earl Ronaf, can you hear me? ”

I screamed in my blood, but the answer never came back.

The only thing that came back was a violent tremor that was ringing the ground.

Kuku ku ku!

A rocky land. That's when Serik screams.

“I, Your Majesty! The undead are coming!”

“ · · · · · ·! ”

As he said, the undead have set out from afar.

The one in front of him is an unopened gate and hundreds of arrows aiming at him. Over 30,000 undead forces behind us.

There was nowhere to run.

“Ha, ha, ha. ”

The shadow of helplessness and deep despair overwhelms him.

I thought it was really over. Robert stumbles upon someone. I look up and I see a wide back. Then I saw a familiar rabbit mask.

“· · · · · · · Sorry, Ser Ferda. ”

I came all this way to save my life, and I never thought I'd have to face this end. Still, Ferda would have saved his life on her own. Robert thought so, smiling powerlessly.

“If anything, run away. Aah!”

Oh, shit!

As soon as I spoke, Ferda's nightshade flew over my forehead. A moment flashed before my eyes. Along with the pain that followed, Robert raises him in a dazed look.

“Tsk, pathetic. Stay with me."

Ferda frowns and kicks her tongue low.

Even in a desperate situation, he doesn't lose his cool. Rather, it seemed relaxed. Robert looks up at Ferda dazed, followed by his words.

“It's not over yet. ”

“It's not over. ”

Robert asked nervously. But the answer never came back.

Instead, I took off my well-worn rabbit mask. Then the young man with military blue hair appeared.

“ · · · · · ·! ”

Someone shouts in shock on the wall. An arcade, nothing to see. Ferda hands the rabbit mask to Robert and gently taps him on the shoulder.

“I'm looking right at it here. ”

After saying that, Ferda turns around.

I see a lot of enemies rushing in with the cloudy dust from afar. Even in the face of them, nothing changed in his face. Rather, I just twisted my mouth and smiled.

“I'll show you the power of the Sernerc. ”

I can't wait to put it under control.

Ferda puts her hand in the inventory and pulls something out. After a while, what he had in his hand was a white stone.

The highest stone of the Church of the Sun found at the bottom of the Frost Lake.

It was the heart of the sun.
