Count Scribe's Tutor

Chapter 50. Visit (4)

The smokehouse quickly became silent.

Ferda picks up a slash on the floor and gets up. Suddenly, the dazed duc bursts into a dry smile.

“At first I thought you were a coward. ”

You run away all of a sudden. You throw stones at them.

I felt like I was doing something in a sacred duel. It was even more unimaginable because it was a peacock who had lived as a knight all his life.

But come to think of it, he's an assassin, not a knight. All that is meant to take the life of an assassin. That's why Ferda fought like an assassin. And I won.

“How could each of those actions be intended? · · · · · · · ”

The duc guesses the power of the boulder as he is struck by a fiercely flying stone. So I knew that power would diminish at close range, of course.

What the hell is this?

Rather, the shield was broken by a more powerful force.

Moreover, the stone that I thought had missed in the middle was actually my intention. You made a hole for your foot to fall off.

How can a Grand Master face defeat without knowing such a shallow move? Duke Setier bursts into laughter.

“It's been a long rest. I guess I'm rusty, too. I can't believe I'm completely missing the flow of combat by falling into the sword. ”

“Your sword was fierce. It's just that one was different. ”

“Hmm? One was different? ”

“You fought, and I fought. That's the only difference between us. ”

After saying that, the trainee bites quietly again.

Shortly after, the duc sighs and laughs, bursting into a loud smile.

“Hahaha! I see. I see what you mean. ”

The Duke stood up laughing for a long time.

Then he spoke with a handsome face.

“This is embarrassing. You told me to come here and die, and I couldn't keep my word. ”

The duc confronts Ferda and bows his head.

“I lost. I learned my lesson this time. ”

Ferda also lowered his head quietly as he admitted defeat.

Shortly thereafter, they sat side by side in the shade in the corner of the training ground.

I tried to go back to where I was, but I couldn't. It was because Silvana and Keshmif were having a horrific discussion.

In the middle of a nice breeze.

The peacock who was silent opened his starry lips.

“I've held a sword since I was three. ”

The yellow eyes flood into the light.

“When I was seven, I was knighted, and when I was eleven, I set foot on the path of the Sword Master. And by the time I was 15, I was a family heir. ”

The duc said it wasn't a big fight, but it was a great achievement.

In fact, some readers have suggested that Duke Setier would rather be the protagonist of Savior.

“Since then, I've shared swords with many enemies. I fought Jerome's warlord to prove my best. I fought the king of the Northern Barbarians for my life. It was a hard day, but I was definitely alive back then. ”

The duc clenches his fist tightly.

But for a moment, his wrinkled fist loosened to nothing. Then it sags like a broken doll. Immediately, you hear the Duke's powerless voice.

“But after reaching new heights, I felt the end. No one really wanted to fight me. It was like being dumped in a shallow plateau. ”

The loneliness in his voice.

It will be called the loneliness of the strong.

“The sword was never drawn from the scabbard. It's getting rusty, and I'm getting old, too. I hated to admit it, but I accepted my time was over. Until I met you. ”

The creased mouth gradually rose.

The light returns to my hollow eyes. Once again, the peacock tightly clenched his fist, with a somewhat daunting look in his eyes.

“You have no idea. I can't tell you how heartbroken I felt watching you fight beyond the crystal ball. I could hardly bear to go down to the erl and slam you with my sword. ”

It wasn't just the eyes that were burdened me.

His speech, his approaching behavior. The atmosphere became increasingly burdensome, leaving the duc a little distance. However, the duc shouted without hesitation.

“And the senses I had forgotten as I fought you, struck you with the sword. Yes, this was the sword. This was the path I was on, the proof of life. My life burned up again fighting you! ”

“Okay, so let's just calm down. ”

I tapped the excitedDuke's back.

It was because he was ready to ask for a duel again if he let it go. However, the Duke's excitement did not subside. Rather, I shouted as though I was impressed.

“It's fate that you and I met! ”

“No, I'm not.”

“We are tied with a string of tough relationships! ”

“I'm not.”

Ferda sighs, grunting at the duc's words.

To get out of this situation, it's best to leave. As he wakes up, the duc grabs his sleeve tightly.

“Hmmm! So here's the thing. ”

The duc clears his throat and pauses for a moment.

Then I asked with a resolute face.

“Can you hang out with me sometimes like today? ”

“ · · · · · ·. ”

“Please, I beg you. ”

When the answer did not return, the duc added his eagerness. I lowered myself deeply to the waist, whether it felt inadequate by itself.

I'd be surprised if anyone else saw this. Duke Setia is famous for never bowing but for his royal side. In other words, his struggle with Ferda was worth it.

After a long, long time of silence.

Ferda's mouth is open, which was tightly closed.

“I don't want to.”

“· · · · · · · · What? ”

Maybe it was an answer I never thought I'd get?

The duc is stunned. A moment later, he wakes up and shouts.

“No, how can a person be so cruel? You say you found a reason for the old man to live, don't you feel sorry for him? I need your help as a friend! ”

“My pleasure is not to fight you. ”

“Twice a day, maybe once a day. Can't you do that? ”

“Not even once a month. ”

Despite his explicit refusal, his hand was not loosened. Ferda looks at this and says with an embarrassing face.

“Let it go. It's going to tear. ”

“I can't let go until I hear the answer! ”

I've already refused. What kind of confirmation do you need?

Despite his silly expression, Duke Setier's face stood still. Ferda sighs briefly. Then I smiled in my heart.

‘I have to take it out now. ’

I actually wanted something.

But I almost wouldn't listen if I asked, so I just pretended to be desperate first. And now I feel like I'm on fire, so we can get to the point.

Ferda takes a short exhale and speaks in a gentle tone.

“I have one more favor to ask of you. ”

“Just say something! Do you want to be a nobleman? Or wealth?"

A peacock who sparkles like a liver. Ferda faced this and wiped the smile off her face. Soon after, he brought up the story with a serious face.

“Be my lord's successor. ”

“Huh? A patron? ”

The duc asked curiously.

The children of the noble families each have a guardian until they reach the age of seventeen, who is recognized as an adult. When I enter the academy, debut in social circles, or talk to other noble families, I always have this guardian with me.

Then, who is the usual guardian?

Usually I become a nobleman of the outside world. However, in reality, the outsider is not a noble family. Above all, not human. Therefore, there was no nobleman worthy of being a guardian.

On the other hand, another heir to the Earl of Archdude, the Cushire Archdude, has a very powerful patron.

‘· · · · · · · Earl of Neshard. ’

A noble and powerful presence in the kingdom. In order to fight this, I needed a guardian of the smallest grade. And the best fit for the situation was the Duke of Setia.

“Well, I guess an archduke wouldn't have a patron after all. ”

The duc nods, thinking about the situation in real life.

But for a moment, he soon darkened the Duke's face.

“But there's a bit of a complication. ”

“What part? ”

“I belong to the neutral party. ”

He seems to confess the hidden fact, but Ferda is not a big reaction. Because that was before the last round.

“It's hard to be an official guardian of the Archdut Confucius. I'm sorry.”

The duc lowers his head slightly as if apologizing.

But I expected an answer like this.

“Oh, I misspoke. ”

So I smiled without embarrassment.

Then Ferda corrected a little.

“My request is not to be a successor to the next Erl Akdue. My lord is also an heir to the Earl family, but he is also a chieftain of a heterogeneous race. ”

“Heterogeneous? Chief? ”

The duc narrows his eyes in vain words.

But instead of answering, another question came back.

“Do you know the Sernerk Forest? ”

“Of course. One of the three horsemen. ”

“Yes, that's right. The Lord is the only ruler there. ”

The duc's eyes widen in response.

After a while, he bursts into frank amazement.

“That's amazing. I can't believe there's another identity for the Archdute Confederate. ”

The duc stares at the faraway realm with a fresh look in his eyes.

Then suddenly, I tilted my head to see if I had any doubts.

“But you don't need a guardian that much, do you? They're already dominating the forest, so why not? ”

“Because the Serenek Forest is not a kingdom. ”

In response, the duc clapped his mouth.

Just a moment ago, I looked stubborn and inspiring, but now I'm not. After clearing all the emotions from his face, he glances at Ferda with fierce eyes.

“· · · · · · You're thinking more dangerous than you think. ”

A ferocious force flows from the duc.

Ferda doesn't avoid the duc, but takes control of the duc.

“Sernerk has no intention of threatening the realm. ”

“I know. So you asked me to be your guardian. ”

The duc suddenly smiles.

The violent force disappeared in an instant. However, Ferda's serious expression did not change. He asked, still facing the duc.

“Will you do me a favor? ”

Two sets of eyes collided in the air.

Shortly after, the duc's tightly closed lips opened.

“First · · · · · · · · ·. ”

A peacock with a long tail.

Later, a deep smile appeared on his wrinkled mouth.

“I'll start with the number of fights and decide. ”

This is the same as permission.

Laughter blooms on Ferda's stiff face. Then he turned his head to discuss how many times he would face the Duke.

But then.

“I accept that offer! ”

An unexpected figure pops out of nowhere.

A young man with squinty eyes. It was Earl Keshmif.

“Huh? What are you doing here? I used to hate my friends. ”

“No, what I said before. ”

Queshamif stares at the word "duel."

He shakes his hand vigorously and then makes a more precise sentence.

“I want to be your patron too! ”

Silvana? Ferda and the duc tilt their heads in a sudden reverence. On the other hand, Queshamif quickly continues speaking with an impressive face.

“Ah, I knew my eyes weren't wrong! We just talked, and already there are this many answers. I can't believe it! You are the treasure of the realm! An admirable genius! ”

If we leave it alone, we'll brag about it until nightfall.

The duc hung up on Keshamif and asked.

“Get to the point. What do you want to say? ”

“I think I can succeed in this experiment that failed. ”

“What? Is that true? ”

“Yes, of course you can. ”

Keshmif replies with a joyful face.

He was a worthless friend, but not a liar.

The duc stared in surprise. Meanwhile, was the sudden gaze overwhelming? In fact, he hides behind Slummy Ferda.

Then again, Keshmif's words followed.

“So, by the way, can I take you to the tower? I know it's been awhile since I've been here, but I can't wait to re-experiment for a while! ”

“Do that. The king's name comes first. ”

The duc nods happily.

But then, he opened his mouth hesitantly.

“You know, going to a strange place alone is a little... ”

“Then how about Ser Ferda? ”

Keshmif turns his head.

In the meantime, Ferda seems to have noticed that she's a real keeper. Meanwhile, the paper quickly entered, frightened to the end of Keshamif's offer.

“Go alone if you want to go. This guy has something he needs to talk to me about. ”

“The Horse Tower is not a common place to visit! Why don't you take this opportunity to see the Horse Tower? I also want to talk to you about your successor! ”

“This man! I'm a patron of the Realm! ”

The Duke and Keshmif soon began to fight.

The goal of visiting the Duke's mansion was largely achieved.

‘What's left of it. ’

Just visiting the steeple.

I hear Ferda's mouth twitching.
