Chapter 950 - 993: Her Hatred
To avoid alerting the enemy, to draw out the person who’d been secretly targeting Anxin all along, I deliberately destroyed Li Lin’s phone recording and let them all mistakenly think I cared about Su Yuexin, that the only reason I destroyed the recording was to protect Su Yuexin! I wanted to shift that person behind the scenes’ attention onto Su Yuexin, so as to lessen the danger Anxin was in.
But somehow, Anxin suddenly found out about my past with Ruan Zhitong. She pressed me, demanding to know whether I had ever loved Ruan Zhitong!
I answered very decisively: no!
Because I truly never loved Ruan Zhitong! Maybe I hadn’t understood that before, but the more time I spent with Anxin, the more certain I became that what I felt for Ruan Zhitong was nothing but possession! Back then my heart was dark, and Ruan Zhitong was like a sheet of blank paper. I only wanted to possess that sheet of paper, hoping she could bring me light.
Ye Anxin didn’t believe my answer, and even asked if Tongxin Building was something I’d built for Ruan Zhitong.

I don’t understand why she believes other people but not me! I was furious at her lack of trust.
That night, she disappeared! Originally I didn’t intend to look for her; I wanted to teach her a lesson! But I still couldn’t stop thinking about her, worrying about her, afraid that something would happen to her out there alone, afraid that she would never come back! After forcing myself to endure it for a while, I still couldn’t help sending people out to find her.
The moment I found her, all my resentment and anger toward her vanished in an instant! Right then and there, all I wanted was to hold her tightly in my arms and spoil her.
I thought that as long as I found her, the tension between us would dissolve, but she kept clinging to my past and wouldn’t let it go. I couldn’t understand why she had to keep fighting with me over someone so insignificant.
She even asked me for a divorce! The moment I heard her mention divorce, it was the first time I ever felt that kind of heartache. It was like my heart had been sliced open by a sharp blade, blood pouring everywhere.
I didn’t know how to keep her, so I could only confine her at home. No matter what method I used, as long as I kept her by my side, that was enough.
I never expected that in order to leave me, she’d actually go on a hunger strike.
Even so, I still wouldn’t let her go. Even if she died, she could only die by my side and become my ghost.
Just when our relationship was spiraling downwards, the child we’d lost suddenly came back! Our child’s return finally eased the tension between us. That day at the hospital, I don’t know what Pete said to her, but she forgave me and never brought up Ruan Zhitong in front of me again.
We went back to the happy days we had before.
But our happiness didn’t last long. When she was more than seven months pregnant, Li Lin suddenly showed up again!
She found Anxin and told her that Su Yuexin was the murderer who killed our first child, then played the backup recording of the phone call for Anxin.
Anxin asked me to give our first dead child an explanation, to take revenge!
I didn’t agree to it! I didn’t want to alert the enemy, and I also wanted to use Su Yuexin as bait to draw out the person behind the scenes who kept hurting Anxin! What I feared even more was that if Anxin found out there was someone controlling Su Yuexin from the shadows, she’d lose control emotionally, alert the enemy, and, driven by the need to avenge our child, do something extreme. But Anxin didn’t understand me!
She ran away from home! And even moved into another man’s place!
She thought that once she left I wouldn’t know, but in fact I’d always had people secretly watching her. Her every move was in my掌握之中! Seeing her live in another man’s home without the slightest guard up, I was furious—furious at her lack of trust, furious that she believed another man instead of me!
So when she was captured by Su Yuexin, I knew immediately. Because I was still angry with her, when Pete told me where she was, my attitude was very cold. I wanted to teach her a lesson, to let her know that only I could protect her, that only I could keep others from hurting her!
Although I didn’t personally step in to save her, I knew her situation like the back of my hand—including where Su Yuexin was holding her, and that she’d escaped!

In the midst of our struggle, Anxin went into premature labor. The situation was critical; we had to take the baby out early, or we wouldn’t be able to save either the child or the mother.
For Anxin’s sake, I signed the papers without the slightest hesitation so they could operate on her and deliver the baby early.
The baby was only a little over seven months along. When he was born, he was like a little mouse—so tiny, with wrinkled skin! Because he was a preemie, they put him in an incubator.
After the baby was born, I thought we would go back to how things were before, that the three of us would live happily together as a family!
But she was just too foolish. She actually took a knife and tried to kill Su Yuexin! Does she really distrust me that much, doesn’t believe I would avenge our child?
What made me even angrier was that after killing Su Yuexin, she actually plunged a fruit knife into her own heart right in front of me! By the time I wanted to stop her, it was too late. Thankfully, the butler was close enough to knock her hand aside, so the fruit knife in her hand missed her heart and stabbed into her chest instead.
Seeing her clothes soaked red with blood, I was furious, but even more than that, I was heartbroken and in pain!
I was angry that she didn’t cherish her own life, that she actually wanted to abandon our son and me. In my rage, I gave her a hard slap across the face, hoping to knock some sense into her.
Looking at the resentment in her eyes, I felt as if my own heart had been hollowed out, empty and echoing!
