"Get away! Get away now!"

Cillian shouted urgently, and Oliver, who had been waiting for him to say it, immediately dragged the two of them out of the inner thunder-strike zone. They got out just in time, before they could suffer any more injuries.

And they did, but the three of them still got hurt in the process.

"Ugh!"

Scott had been hit the worst among them. He felt the burning sensation in his shoulder before carefully dropping Cillian. He still couldn’t adjust to the pain just yet.

Even so, there was no time to waste.

"You stay there, Scott. Get ready using the Artifact."

Cillian looked over at Oliver, who had taken most of the lightning strikes that had befallen them in that short amount of time but had remained unscathed because of what seemed to be a hidden Artifact placed somewhere within his body.

However, even that Artifact was no longer enough to protect him when one strike finally managed to hit his shoulder. Unlike Scott’s reaction, Oliver merely gritted his teeth through the pain.

That thunder strike to their shoulders was enough to tell them how potent each strike was becoming.

And that same thunder strike was something Cillian was about to use now.

However, Cillian found himself out of buffs from the insane luck boost.

[0:00:00]

[Death Coin’s stroke of luck has ended]

[Bad Effects activating]

[Death Flag]

’Dang, that sucks.’

Cillian’s opinion regarding the loss of the luck boost was completely different from the expression on his face, with the corners of his lips curling even further upward.

"Hey."

Then, he saw Oliver’s hands reaching out toward him. This old man was even more persistent than him.

"Let’s see through this until the end, kid."

[Death Flag]

Cillian glanced toward Oliver’s head, where his flag was, with the thunderstorm just behind him. He scratched his head in annoyance, his expression turning sour.

"Seriously..."

’You just had to say that? That’s a cliché phrase people use when they’re about to die.’

If Cillian was the kind of person whose jinxes always came true, then the people he had met always seemed to say the kind of obvious shit he seldom saw in the novels he had read.

Still, Cillian accepted Oliver’s offer.

Not accepting his handshake because he found it too cringe, Cillian simply stood beside him and excitedly told him.

"Let’s see through this and be alive!"

Be alive while having fun.

That was the most important of all as Cillian readied himself.

After wiping the blood that had fallen from his mouth, Oliver did exactly as Cillian expected and dragged him inside the ’window.’

Then, both of them entered the strike zone once again.

Rumble—!

Leaving the injured Scott behind, the thunder strikes continued raining down as Cillian and Oliver found themselves inside the Hidden One’s influence.

Baaang—!

This time, since Oliver was done following Cillian’s orders by moving closer than before, he was able to put his focus more on navigating with his Traveler’s ability.

Whenever a thunder strike was about to land on them, Oliver managed to save both himself and Cillian by opening the ’window’ each time he slid his hands.

Bang—!

Even with that already busted ability, Oliver wasn’t able to defend against every thunder strike, as there were simply too many of them. It was difficult even for him, as he tried his best to sneak their way inside without relying on his already burnt-out Artifact.

He just took it all like a man.

And Oliver had to drag Cillian each time, adding to the baggage he had to carry. Yet the old man he had just met, the same man who had saved his life, never complained. Not even once.

He merely followed the best solution that their group had come up with while being very cooperative and helpful.

’No wonder Aster says he’s the strongest Ruiner. He’s not even a Proper Ruiner who started with [Zero], but that doesn’t change the fact that his versatility and ability to use them in situations like this stand out the most.’

What matters is how the Ruiner used their abilities. It’s not about the ability itself each and every time.

Bang—!

’I guess I’ll do my job as well.’

Cillian’s sour expression twisted into a crooked grin before he muttered under his breath.

"Mimicry..."

[Reserved mimicked storage: Jack Trade’s voice..., [Air Jump[Three]: [0:50]], [Roars of the Sealed God[???]: [3:00]]]

Cillian looked over the last list of abilities he had managed to seize from the Hidden One while skipping through the rest, which were mostly filled with nothing but voices.

"Roars of the Sealed God."

[Temporary mimicked activated: Roars of the Sealed God[???]:[3:00]]

[2:59]

Once the ability was activated, a small, broken halo began to appear above Cillian’s head. Oliver, who was still dragging him through one ’window’ after another, noticed it after feeling chills coursing through his body.

Oliver felt as though the person beside him, whom he had been dragging around, had changed into someone akin to the Hidden One... akin to a God.

’I just met this kid today, and he’s already far surpassed my expectations. No wonder Aster had such a positive impression of him. Somehow, he could understand Aster because they were on the same side of the coin. Because... these two are monsters in their own way.’

That’s why Oliver steeled his resolve as he clenched both fists and dragged Cillian through the ’windows’ yet again, feeling the thunder strikes prickling against his skin.

’You don’t have to worry about the thunder striking you down, Cillian. I will protect you so...’

Go all out.

"Heh."

For some reason, Cillian somehow understood the meaning behind Oliver’s intense, fervent gaze, and he couldn’t help but feel reassured.

Then, he looked up toward where the Hidden One was currently rampaging, as if it were angry about something.

Rumble—!

[2:49]

Cillian’s eyes started to widen as he felt the power coursing through his body, feeling the thunder strikes in every fiber of his being while sensing another thunderstorm mixing with the Hidden One’s thunderstorm.

Rumblee—!

Cillian found himself being dragged through Oliver’s ’window,’ who had already sustained too many injuries over the course of a few seconds. Yet he merely ignored the old man’s condition and trusted his gut to pull off the difficult task.

Rumbleee—!

Cillian slowly raised one hand, pointing his middle and index fingers toward where the Hidden One was currently located.

Then, a maniacal laugh escaped his mouth.

"Eat shit!"

Rumbleeee—!

For a moment, there was only silence.

Cillian was dragged inside Oliver’s Traveler ability.

Then, a thunder strike fell toward the Hidden One’s position, causing the ’God’ to halt its movement for a brief moment.

It was one at first.

Bang—!

Then, it became two, then three, until there were too many to count, making it difficult for the Hidden One to move as he continued to suffer from the strikes.

Bang—!

Amidst the falling thunder strikes, a mixture of the Hidden One’s thunder strikes and the copied ability, Cillian smiled as he continued to be pulled inside Oliver’s ’window,’ as they moved around the strike zone.

’This is so fun!’

Cillian was bleeding from his nose, but he was smiling from ear to ear.

’This is so fucking fun!’
