Chapter 30: Never a dull moment.

" I-I see..." Osborne didn’t expect such a reply, seeing Clawdeth and Natalie notice responding to it, he figured it was normal for them.

" In that case, might I ask a favour." Osborne turned towards Natalie."

" You want me to help you procure that potion." Natalie said with a light smile.

Realising he’d been found out, Osborne smiled sheepishly. " Yes, I’d be really grateful if you did."

" Potion?" Guinevere raised a brow, curious to what the both of them were talking about.

" It’s just a medicine the Young master had me get for him to help with his illness." Natalie spoke up.

Clawdeth scoffed at her words but said nothing.

Inside, Osborne felt even more grateful because he was suddenly worried about how he’d explain to Guinevere about his predicament, which was something he didn’t want to do.

If she learned that he got into such a situation under the journey that she allowed and tasked her people to manage, she’d probably blame herself. Even though he wasn’t sure if she liked him or not.

Her and Anny weren’t different in that regard.

He knew she was a good person, but some things were just better left unsaid.

Hearing Natalie’s words, Guinevere didn’t say anything, yet what was currently going through her mind, Osborne couldn’t tell.

" I’ll have your friend bring it over to your room when I get it." Natalie said.

" Thank you." Osborne nodded before watching the three of them leave.

******

Osborne headed into the mansion.

He walked through the lengthy hallway before arriving at the main hall.

But as he approached the stairs leading upwards.

His vision suddenly began to sway about. And as it did, he felt a sense of exhaustion coming over.

’ F*CK... Why now of all times.’ After returning earlier than expected, he was really hoping he could make use of the little sedative potion he had. Unfortunately it seemed that wasn’t the case.

Osborne clutched at his aching head before reaching into his clothes and retrieving the potion bottle.

Inside were just 2-3 drops left. A pitiful amount for someone in his situation since he didn’t know how long it would take Natalie to procure more.

"...!"

" What do you think you’re doing." Just as he raised the potion vile over his mouth, someone suddenly swiped it from his hands.

Osborne turned around to see Rebecca staring at him with a look of displeasure.

Sniff

Sniff

She took a few careful whiffs of the vile, her face turning lethargic for a moment before shifting into a look of disapproval.

" Is this why you left the estate? So you could get addicted to drugs and come back here." She raised her voice at him, looking pissed.

" No no no... Please just give it back, you don’t understand, it’s not a drug."

" And there it is again, you lying useless whelp." Rebecca looked even more annoyed. " You refuse to tell the truth even when caught with your pants down." She bit her lower lip, her face creasing.

Osborne didn’t care about the look on her face right now, instead his eyes were fixed on the vile in her hand as if it were his life line.

" Fine! You can call it whatever you want, just give it back. I really need that." He pleaded, reaching towards the vile, clutching his dizzy head with one hand, trying his best to remain standing.

" Tsk~" Rather than listening to him, she found his pleas disgusting.

" Urrghh..." Osborne gritted his teeth as the urge to fall asleep grew even more.

" Please... just give it back!" He begged, his voice even more urgent.

" Did you just yell at me?" Rebecca’s face creased. " I was thinking of being lenient with you this time around yet you dare act out of line?!"

" Do you think becoming my sister’s betrothed instantly makes you the head of this househol—"

" Shut up!"

Osborne didn’t even let her finish, overcome with desperation, he lunged at her before she could react, tackling her to the ground.

" W-What do you think you’re doing?!" Rebecca yelled, seeing the near crazed look on his face, fear began to well up within her.

" Just give me the darn thing already!!!" Osborne yelled, as he struggled to hold her down with the little bit of strength his body had left.

" No! Get off of me you wretch!! Someone come here and help me now!" She desperately cried out while struggling with Osborne.

Osborne who wanted nothing more than the potion was gradually pushed into an unfavourable position due to his declining strength.

Moreover, even with him atop her, Rebecca still refused to let go of the vile.

" My Lady!"

To make matters worse, a knight soon arrived on the scene.

" Hurry! Get this animal off me!" Rebecca commanded.

The knight quickly rushed forward before grabbing a hold of Osborne.

" No! Let go of me!" Osborne struggled, his eyes beginning to moisten while he struggled, but with what little strength he had left, it was pointless.

The Guard hauled him off her with ease, before forcing him down on his face.

" Why are you doing this!!! I didn’t even say anything, The potion was mine not yours!!!!" Osborne yelled, after facing blow after blow, his heart gradually began to break.

He hoped he could simply remain in his chambers and try to figure out a way to end his cruel curse, and yet here she was, doing her best to make sure that didn’t happen.

She was indirectly forcing him into the wicked jaws of death when all he did was mind his own business.

" You uncultured animal! I was only trying to help and you attacked me!" Rebecca glared at him as if she in fact was the one in the wrong.

Osborne’s heart ached greatly after hearing this.

To add to his wounds, the earlier commotion, soon drew a small crowd.

" What’s going on? Why is the young master on the floor."

" Young master!" Anny looked heartbroken seeing Osborne in so much pain again.

" Take one more step and I’ll make sure you regret it!" Rebecca flashed Anny a viscous glare.
