Chapter 31: Poor Osborne.

" Young miss, What’s the meaning of this." Guinevere asked with a frown.

" Oh? I bet you’re happy to see me like this." Rebecca said sarcastically.

" I was about to head back to my room when this beast of a man took me by surprise and pinned me down." Rebecca pointed a finger at Osborne.

Gasps instantly filled the hallway.

" That’s a lie and you know it!!!!" Osborne yelled, his voice hoarse.

" I only wanted my potion back! You had no right to take it!" Osborne said, his face nearing that of a broken man who’d been pushed time and time again.

" Oh yes... This." Rebecca stared at the potion. " I almost forgot, it was because of this filthy thing that you dared lay a hand on me in the first place!" In a fit of rage, she tossed the vile.

She smashed it on his head without hesitation.

" Noo!!!!!" Osborne let out a pain filled cry. His eyes, red.

" Why! Why would you do that!!!!!" Even as his head blead from the shattered glass.

" That’s only a taste of what I’ll do to you because of this, you think you can just humiliate me like that and get away with it?"

" You wicked bitch!!!! I’ll kill you!!!" Osborne growled, completely out of it as he struggled to break free from the knight.

The Knight frowned, pressing down on him even further.

Osborne felt the air in his lungs threaten to bust, but even then, he refused to stop, struggling like a cornered beast who’d lost all reason.

The strength that was once declining from his body, gradually returning.

But even then, the knight was like a heavy boulder that refused to budge.

Rebecca scoffed at his pitiful display, finding it even more revolting.

WHOOSH~!

But the next moment, what everyone didn’t expect, happened.

A dagger emerged out of thin air in Osborne’s right hand.

PITUI~!

Before the knight atop him could react, he swung his hard upwards, stabbing straight into the man’s exposed neck since he wasn’t wearing a helmet.

The knight, in disbelief, unconsciously tried to stop the bleeding with his hands but it was proving futile.

In a short moment, he got to feel a bit of Osborne’s own sense of helplessness from moments ago.

Cries of alarm filled the hall, but Osborne couldn’t care less, he shoved the anxious knight off him before getting up.

From now till then, his gaze was still fixed on Rebecca, his eyes brimming with pent up hatred and anger.

This time, Rebecca’s face was considerably pale.

" Guinevere! What do you think you’re doing! Stop this mad man before he kills someone else!" With her back to the wall, she pulled the coward’s card, ordering the half elf to interfere.

Guinevere let out a breath before leaping and emerging in-between Osborne and Rebecca.

While she loved seeing Rebecca fearful like this without her usual air of arrogance, as a vassal of house Roosevelt, she had no choice but to do as Rebecca asked.

" Young master... I’m afraid you have to stand down now." She said.

But the furious Osborne didn’t even have her in his eyes.

He rushed forward with his dagger in hand and teeth bared.

On reaching Guinevere, he began slashing hectically.

" Young master Osborne. I understand that you’re angry right now, but please try to calm down. Harming the young miss would only worsen your current situation."

The half elf easily evaded each of his attacks with ease while still trying to talk some sense into him.

" AHHHH!!!" Osborne snarled as he pounced forward.

Swoosh!!!

His swung his dagger diagonally, aiming to slash through her abdomen.

" That’s enough..." Guinevere’s hands moved quicker, knocking his dagger out of his hand with her left.

BAM!

Before delivering a sharp blow to his sternum.

" BLEURGH~!" Osborne coughed up a mouthful of saliva, before losing consciousness.

But as his body began falling forward, Guinevere stepped forward and caught him in her hands.

" I’ve done as you commanded young miss..." She turned to the still frightened Rebecca and said. Yet her tone conveyed that she wasn’t the least bit happy about what she’d done.

Even she herself could see how much pain he was in because of her and yet she still made her to be the one to stop him.

Being the one who suggested bringing him hear in the first place, Guinevere who’s face always remained calm couldn’t help clenching her fist tightly.

Rebecca let out a sigh of relief seeing Osborne incapacitated.

"....!!!!"

But the next moment, a look of horror dawned on her face when the tip of a dagger pierced out from Guinevere’s back.

Guinevere who’d just been stabbed, slowly turned her head to stare at Osborne whose eyes continued to burn with hatred.

Even as her body fell to the floor, the hatred in his eyes never disappeared.

Before she even fell to the ground in her own blood, he was already bolting towards Rebecca with his bloodied dagger like a mad beast.

" Get away from her!" A voice boomed within the hall.

Osborne who was bolting towards Rebecca barely saw a figure emerge in his bath before sending him flying with a savage kick to the side.

He coughed up a mouthful of blood as his ribs cracked on impact, before he flew across the hall, slamming into one of the pillars and staining it with his own blood.

" Young master!" Anny cried out, her heart threatening to wrip apart.

" Lady Rebecca, are you alright?" Clawdeth who’d been the one to intervene, turned towards Rebecca and asked.

Rebecca’s head bobbed up and down.

Clawdeth nodded before shifting her gaze back to Osborne.

"..?!" But her pupils widened when she saw him getting up once again.

" Bleurgh~!" Osborne coughed up another mouthful of blood before raising his head to glare at Clawdeth.

Even now his hatred hadn’t lessened but her gone a step further, morphing into killing intent.

One so strong that the vassals around couldn’t help but shudder in fear.

Clawdeth’s gaze instantly turned cold, feeling insulted that he thought he could actually kill her.
