Chapter 32: That’s not for you to decide.

Her body blurred as she shot towards him, but mid way, another blur cut off her path.

Both blurs delivered savage kicks towards each other, causing a deafening sound that had the vassals taking a step back.

" Were you really aiming to take his life." The new party who was none other than Natalie, said, while glaring at Clawdeth.

" He killed Lady Guinevere, now he wants to kill Lady Rebecca! What else would you have had me do?!"

" I’ll only ask you this once, step aside and let me end this. I’d rather not let anyone else get hurt."

" He hasn’t killed anyone, I’ve already treated Lady Guinevere and the injured knight, besides." Natalie said as she glanced at Osborne.

Right now he was supporting himself by the pillar and could barely stand.

" You’ve already made sure he can’t fight anymore, why do you insist on taking his life?" Natalie said, her tone, cold.

" Are you suggesting we let him live." Rebecca who’d regained some semblance of courage, said. " He clearly made an attempt on my life, Yet you dare say he should be left alive?!"

" You!" Rebecca said, pointing at Clawdeth. " Don’t let that man live!"

" And you! If you interfere then you’ll be branded a traitor of the house."

" No one is going to be branding anyone a traitor." Guinevere stepped out from the vassal crowd.

While blood still stained her attire, her injuries were all but healed, showing just how effective Natalie’s treatment had been.

" Lady Rebecca... with all due respect, Whether he lives or dies is not for you to decide."

" Are you going against me?!" Rebecca yelled at her.

" No, I wouldn’t dare do such a thing, I’m simply reminding you that that man over there is still the chosen spouse of your older sister and the current head of the household."

" You may punish him for his crimes as you see fit, but no one may maim or kill him unless she deems it so."

Rebecca turned silent, bitting her lower lip while glaring at Guinevere. No matter how much she hated it, her words were in fact the truth.

Trying to kill him would definitely piss of her older sister even if she might not like him, because it would be no different than a slap to her face.

Plus, if word got out, then there’d be even more hell to pay from her older sister.

And yet, the thought of letting this man who didn’t know his place, live, really irked her beyond measure.

" Fine then. Have someone treat his wounds before locking him up in the family’s dungeon, we’ll wait for my older sister to return before deciding what to do with him." Rebecca said.

" As you wish lady Rebecca." Both Natalie and Guinevere bowed.

" You there. What’s your name." Rebecca pointed at Clawdeth.

" It’s Clawdeth my lady." She replied calmly yet inwardly, her heart was rejoicing.

" From now on, I want you to answer to no one but me, is that understood."

" But lady Rebecca, She’s already working beneath our lady..." Guinevere said.

" Well I’m sure my older sister wouldn’t mind sparing a servant or two, besides, with that man still alive, I’m only taking precautions." Rebecca said.

" Come." She said to Clawdeth before walking up.

Clawdeth glanced at both Guinevere and Natalie for a moment.

Natalie returned her gaze with an unfriendly look, while Guinevere retained her usual calm.

Both did nothing to stop her.

In the end, Clawdeth followed after Rebecca.

’....No.’ Osborne watched her slowly get away, his hand reaching for the both of them as he let go of the pillar.

’ Why is this happening again!’

BAM!

And yet his body simply had no more strength, forcing him to the ground.

’... I’m not the one to blame, she is!’ Osborne opened his mouth and spoke but no words came out due to the severity of damaged he’d taken.

His eyes could only moisten as he watched her walk away again, once more without consequence, even after all she’d done to him.

She was still playing the part of the victim!

He gnashed his teeth in hatred even as his body cried out in pain, blood trickling from the corner of his lips.

His vision soon began to darken when she was almost out of sight, the moment she left the hall, his body couldn’t hold on anymore and...

He fell unconscious.

*******

Osborne found himself in the nightmare world the next moment, his clothes still stained with his own blood.

Feeling completely helpless, he dropped to his knees, his hands dangling at his sides as tears began falling down the corner of his eyes.

...Why are you doing this!!! I didn’t even say anything, The potion was mine not yours!!!!

....You uncultured animal! I was only trying to help and you attacked me.

....Young master... I’m afraid you have to stand down now.

....Get away from her!!!

...Lady Rebecca, are you alright.

Memories of how each time he’d tried to stand up for himself, only to be knocked down and down again, began playing in his mind.

Osborne gritted his teeth, clenching his fist, he slammed it down onto the ground in anger.

But he stopped it at the last moment.

Now in the nightmare world, he knew he wasn’t even allowed the luxury to grief. This world just like the other, cared not for his pain or suffering.

Due to how weak he was, everyone of them always walked all over him.

Non cared about him at all.

And no one wanted to stand up for him.

Only now did the truth become bare to Osborne.

No matter how nice and warm the world might be at one point, in the end, it was a cruel world that only knew how to prey on the weak.

....I was thinking of being lenient with you this time around yet you dare act out of line?!

...Do you think becoming my sister’s betrothed instantly makes you the head of this househol—

If he wanted all this to stop, he couldn’t continue on like this, hoping for justice to prevail against all his grievances.
