Chapter 45: Just What Are You Up To?

The bar maid had a strange look on her face for a moment, but she did comply.

The second set was brought, this time four cups for each man.

Glorgan didn’t stand on ceremony, downing all four under everyone’s watchful gaze.

Osborne, on the other hand, was slower in comparison, drinking at a normal pace. Nevertheless, he still managed to finish all four cups in the end.

Though his cheeks now looked a bit rosy.

"Damn, that guy can really hold his liquor," one person couldn’t help but comment.

"No wonder he decided to challenge Glorgan."

"The guy’s tough, but look at his face. I don’t think he can finish the next round."

"Oh? Wanna make a bet?" Someone in a cloak suddenly said.

"Two silvers say the boy won’t make it."

"You sure you’ve got eyes? My three silvers say he will."

"Damn you!"

"Alright, alright, no need to let loose. Just calm down everyone, and place your bets here. Winners take all!"

"I wanna bet!"

"Hey! Don’t forget about me!" Before everyone knew it, the simple drinking contest suddenly became a heated gambling ring, with the bar’s patrons rushing to profit from the situation.

Meanwhile, the third round was just about to begin.

This time around, the bar maid brought eight cups each for each contestant.

"I’ve gotta admit, you’re one tough kid!" Glorgan laughed heartily. "Never thought a day would come when I met someone trying to give me a run for my money."

"Well, you know what they say, there’s always someone stronger in the world."

"True, but I’m afraid in this case, that doesn’t apply." Glorgan smirked before picking up his cup.

Osborne did the same.

"Cheers!" Both men clanked their cups against one another before beginning to chug down each of their drinks.

Not surprisingly at all, Glorgan finished his eight cups with ease, leaving everyone to wait for Osborne to finish.

...

"Another!" Osborne slammed his cup against the table after finishing the last one.

The bar maid looked even more taken aback, turning to Natalie, who stood by the counter, massaging the uncomfortable expression on her face.

Natalie simply waved her hand in silence.

And so came the fourth round: sixteen cups each.

Once more, Glorgan finished his drinks, although his face had finally begun showing hints of fluster.

Osborne, on the other hand, looked the same as before, finishing all sixteen with time to spare.

"Are my eyes deceiving me? How does a small body like that contain so much ale?!"

"He has to be cheating. There’s just no way!"

"Shut up! You’re just scared you’re about to lose money!" Another bar patron scolded.

"If you think he’s cheating, then prove it. No use flapping your gums."

While the bar patrons were in heated conversations, the fifth round arrived.

This time around, Glorgan’s pace degraded halfway, and while he was able to finish all thirty-two cups, he looked like he was a step away from his limit.

Osborne quietly drank every single cup without fail, leaving everyone dumbfounded.

"Another!!!" Osborne yelled while raising his cup high.

"S-Sir... I’m afraid that’s all the alcohol we had. We don’t have anymore left," the bar maid muttered next to him.

"Preposterous!" Osborne glared at her. "I was just about to win, yet you’re saying there’s no more drinks?! What flimsy establishment are you running here!" Osborne yelled at the bar maid, who shivered at the side.

"The hell? Did she say they finished everything?!"

"You’re kidding. Are you saying that guy drank this whole place dry?!"

Most of them were unsure of what to make of the matter. No matter how hard they thought, they couldn’t come up with a way to justify all that beer going into Osborne’s body.

What all of them didn’t know was that apart from the first two cups he took, the rest of the beer was simply stored in his subspace.

Since Osborne now had some control over his little world, it wasn’t that difficult for him to move the ale into his subspace.

"Young master, perhaps you need to calm down." Natalie walked over to his side and placed a hand on his shoulder in an attempt to calm him down.

"Don’t tell me to calm down!" Osborne shook off her hand before pointing an accusing finger at the bar maid.

"I demand to see your manager right now!" He said with an intense gaze.

The bar maid quivered before nodding rapidly.

"P-Please follow me~" the bar maid said with her head lowered before walking ahead to lead the way.

Osborne followed after her along with Natalie. But before leaving, Osborne walked up to Glorgan and patted the guy.

"Don’t worry, they’ll soon get us more beer so we can finish off where we left off!"

"Heurk~!" Glorgan, who was trying his best to hold back, lurched out everything he’d drank on the floor, bending over.

"Noooo!!!!!" Seeing this, the majority of the bar’s patrons cried out in despair.

"Hahaha!!! Yes!!" Meanwhile, the others cheered with joy.

Because Glorgan puking meant that he had finally lost the bet, and since that was the case, all those who placed their bets on Osborne naturally won the bet.

"Oh dear..." Osborne stared at Glorgan puking.

"Well, I’m sure he’ll be fine once he’s done." Osborne turned towards the bar maid. "Alright, continue to lead the way."

"Y-Yes, sir." She stuttered before doing as asked.

The bar maid led them to the back room, where a middle-aged man sat behind a little wooden desk.

"Julie, I thought I told you not to disturb me during business hours!" The bar man glared up the moment they stepped inside.

"S-Sorry boss, but the–" Julie tried to say, but—

"And who did you bring here this time–" her boss cut her off, yet—

"I’d appreciate it if you addressed me as Osborne Von Bismarck. Know your place... filthy commoner." Osborne cut the man off with an icy glare.

"...?!" The old man shivered when he felt Osborne’s honed killing intent enshroud him.

’A noble?! What’s a noble doing in my bar?!’ The bar owner cursed his luck.

While he knew not of all the nobles in the land, Osborne’s attire, coupled with his lengthy name, was more than enough for the man.
