Chapter 285: Party Preparations
Annie jumped into Eve’s arms hugging her tightly even before Eve’s own family could get a chance.
Eve didn’t resist, the pack especially Annie had done a lot for her, even her little brother would’ve died a long time ago had it not been for the pack.
She might still be a vessel of Bloody Mary so she really owed them a lot and intended to pay it all back.
After Adrian made sure everything was okay he left, frankly he was bored, he had things he wanted to achieve but they were achievable with his current strength.
----------------------------------
The birth of a new demigod was not something that could be hidden, both the High Council and Organisation detected it.
A meeting was held on the headquarters of each group. " The aura came from the new territory of the werewolves."
" Do you think it was that wolf boy?" A Dragonewt demigod asked with a grim expression.
Adrian’s fight against three level 8 Espara was something well known and they knew he was a level 7.
" If that’s the case then I’m afraid stopping that child would take significantly more effort.
He would be the second coming of that Lunar boy and Morgana." A Naga demigod responded.
" You all worry too much, becoming a demigod is not that simple, that child couldn’t grow from level 7 to a demigod in merely three years.
The aura felt colder almost like that of a ghost, I bet it belongs to that child who used to Bloody Mary’s vessel."
An old looking woman answered, she was the witch leader of the elemental covenant and the current representation of the witches in the High council.
The others nodded agreeing with her, no matter how abnormal he was, they didn’t believe Adrian can become a Demigod so quickly.
" The real question is what should we do? Are we going to send a representative to congratulate her, it is custom after all?" She asked.
The others didn’t answer, none of them were willing to go, not because they were scared, they wouldn’t fear a newly born demigod.
They simply thought it would be demeaning and would lower their status amongst their peers.
" We’ll send a level 8 representative, that should be enough." The Dragonewt demigod answered before standing up and walking out.
The others followed suit, the Organisation was having the same meeting and came to the same agreement.
Adrian and the pack didn’t know much about customs but Annie has read about them to an extent.
However even without those books she still would’ve wanted to throw a party to celebrate her friend’s breakthrough to level 9.
So, things were set in motion and the preparation for the celebration went underway.
" What are you going to wear?" Annie asked Adrian while browsing through her own clothes.
Most of her clothes were jean pants and tight leather jackets, she had a few pretty dresses and clothes reserved only for Adrian.
Nothing in her closet was suitable for a fancy party like the one she planned to throw which was good news for tailors.
There were a few in their territory with that skill but none of them could create the type of dress she wanted.
The reason for that was simple, she wanted a dress that was both fancy looking as well as a defensive artefact.
" Fred, can you commission the witches to build a dress for me? I want the dress to be blue and fitted with defensive runes.
They should also add these to the dress to make it more pretty." She gave him diamond like crystals glowing with silver light.
Fred bowed, " As you wish my lady." The middle aged butler left to carry out Annie’s orders.
" Suzie, I need you and Louis to focus on the catering, do whatever needs to be done to make this place as good looking as it can be.
Place a commission in the guild for edible Gadra, the higher the level the better, nothing below level 7."
She sent orders after orders with excitement, it was obvious she loved doing this.
" You look happy." He hugged her from behind and kissed her neck. She leaned back into his chest.
" Of course I am, my friend just became a demigod, why wouldn’t I be happy?" She answered with a smile.
" No, I’m talking about this, you seem to enjoy it, throwing a party."
" It’s been ages since I’ve been to a party, I’ve been tense for the past 70 years, We’ve all been, I think this is a good time to relax."
He nodded, " You’re right, I’m just happy to see you smiling with such happiness, it’s been a while since I’ve seen you so relaxed."
They called the others, " Alright, Sam, John, no in fact, I need both the army and the police force on this.
This event might draw some attention as you know we were attacked not long ago and I doubt they’ve given up.
Some might try to fish in troubled waters, I need you to keep our citizens safe at all cost, look out for thieves.
Our territory might not be rich in natural resources or have ambient esper but our people are the say the least well off."
She wasn’t lying nor bragging, for the past three years they’ve been working with the witches.
Specifically the Alchemy Covenant but since the Alchemy Covenant was leaderless without a demigod.
Most of the deals were handled by the other covenants under the guise of protection, while the witches were banded together.
That was mostly against outside threats, they would fight for each other to the death but there was internal competition.
The nine covenants were like siblings who mock and tease each other secretly and sometimes steal a piece of cake from each other.
But they don’t tolerate anybody else bullying their siblings so while the leaderless Alchemy Covenant has to relent to the sisters.
They know others can never touch them and the large share is still theirs even within their family.
In the past three years they’ve made significant profits from selling the potions made from Adrian’s diluted blood.
By mixing it with certain herbs which they’ve requested the pack to grow for them, they can make a very effective potion.
This in exchange gave so much profit to the pack they might be one of the wealthiest groups right now.
As a result, everybody living in their territory lived well, they had work and were well paid too.
Plus the profits made from the guild, the pack was quite wealthy, this naturally drew the greed of others.
Which is not a good thing considering Greed himself was still roaming free, if he took advantage of their greed during this party.
He might cause significant damage, so having the entire army and police force on the lookout was not overkill.
