Chapter 272: Famine’s Sigil
Adrian ripped out the heart from the frozen carp, the heart was significantly larger than he was.
After taking it he left the corpse to the wolves, unlike him, they didn’t specifically need the heart.
Any part of the body could help them improve even if not much, Gadra usually improved by subconsciously absorbing ambient esper.
Consuming other esper lifeforms including esper plants. Adrian patted the wolf leader’s head then he left.
He couldn’t bring them with him so he decided to just leave them. It took him a bit of time to get back home.
" That’s a massive heart." Annie commented as soon as he showed up. He didn’t respond and kissed her.
" I’m going to take some time reaching level 7, tell the others not to disturb me." She nodded.
He went to a large empty sealed room inside the castle and locked himself up. Then he started eating the heart.
Without Famine’s authority, the heart did not spoil and he finished it in minutes, a large amount of energy surged inside him.
Pure esper ravaged inside his esper veins as if trying to break through. It was moving too fast and growing larger rapidly.
’ I’ve reached the absolute peak of level 6 and to break through I need to expand the excess esper out and strengthen my domain.’
He did just that, pure esper surged out of him, a solid wall of esper formed around him creating a solid domain.
Adrian already had a domain with a solid wall, this new surge of esper further strengthened that wall.
However he was not dome, and illusory image of a moon appeared above him, Adrian was doing something impossible.
He was imprinting his will and image into his domain, this was a level 8 trait, any had done something similar to a lesser extent.
It was illusory and brief on her part, while her image existed within her domain, it was still not visible enough.
The image he was he was imprinting while illusory was very much visible and could clearly affect the world.
Its pure silver light touched every space within the domain, with a single thought from him, everything touched by the light froze.
He converted pure lunar esper into ice esper instantly, as long as the light of his moon touched something.
He could instantly change the light into an attack meaning inside his domain, you cannot dodge his attack, only block.
Adrian managed to touch upon the means of a semi-divine realm with a mere level 7 domain.
If his enemies knew this, they might ignore every agreement they had with Meggie and Dracullara and attack him.
Adrian’s domain was still unstable and still solidifying itself so it would take him a few days to go out.
Plus he still needed to form the warrior’s domain, it might look easier than the other but it was anything but.
Condensing your esper around your body to form a solid skin tight barrier was not an easy thing to do.
However werewolves were physical type Fayera, they were naturally inclined to this method.
While it was still not easy, they had instinctive knowledge on how to do which was not the case for the other domain.
Which is why Annie, Suzie and those in their lineage struggled to form their domains more than those like Melissa.
Still, they somehow formed their domains first because the others were warheads who only think about fighting.
-------------------------------------------
While Adrian was forming his domain, the outside world was moving like cogs in a machine.
The organisation and the high council were having a meeting, it was rare for these two groups to meet.
Leading them were a member of one of the clans of the round table and opposite him sat a Dragonewt.
Both of them were elders of their respective races as well as group, surrounding them were other members of the two groups.
" This will further delay the arrival of the ancient one." One of the spoke, nobody denied that.
" I knew it was a bad idea to make a deal with that witch and that blood sucker, if you’d just let us take action..."
The Dragonewt raised his hand, " You’re free to deal with Dracullara by yourself, if you can defeat her.
The high council will not break its word and no demigod will take action against that child and his subordinates."
The Organisation elder smiled, " That deal only involves demigods no? So there would be no issues if no demigod takes action!"
Nobody answered but they all knew what the next plans were. There was no point discussing this aby further.
All they could do is wait a bit longer for the next few seals to break and for the one who had slumbered to rise once more.
Then they would be granted their lifelong wish, they would become Gods ruling their own divine realms.
They were all excited like children going to a theme park but they had underestimated the werewolves, they admitted that.
Before the next seals broke, they needed to deal with that pack so no more delays would occur.
Not to mention delays, there was the possibility of what happened 12 thousand years ago occuring again.
If they have all the 12 seals, they can possibly lock the cage of the ancient one again preventing his rise like Morgana once did.
However that was not much of an issue anymore. They threw the shroud of Mary back into purgatory.
However that can still be retrieved, the seals of the sins are in heaven and heaven was bound the lend them.
However theur biggest mistake was their lack of knowledge. " It’s no matter, a little delay does not matter, the ancient one will awaken."
The Dragonewt elder spoke drawing the attention of the Espara elder of the round table.
" Ho, speak." The Dragonewt smiled and stroked his beard then placed a whithered flower on the table.
" This is.." all the agents were surprised, " How, I thought those wolves defeated Famine."
" They did." The Dragonewt answered, " However they are still mere children who lack knowledge and experience.
They defeated Famine yet but they did not search for his sigil, my people retrieved this where Famine has first fallen."
The agents nodded, " That’s good, still, the wolves need to be dealt with, they’re becoming a nuisance.
Also, that sigil should stay with us the Organisation, it will be safer in our hands than in your High council."
As soon as those words came out, the temperature seemed to drop and tension rose.
