Chapter 289: Rendersol
Lilith wasn’t the only one to feel something, her siblings as well as most of the guests in the castle.
Everybody level 5 and up could detect a powerful and dangerous aura descending from the sky.
The sin siblings disappeared and left the city immediately. In the castle, Anyx spit her wine, her eyes opened wide with suprise.
" EVERYBODY CLOSE YOUR EYES, WHATEVER YOU DO DON’T OPEN THEM!" She screamed.
She released her aura as a Demigod making everybody tense, she grabbed Annie, " Knock the entire city out."
Annie didn’t waste a single second, a wave of psionic esper spread out with her as the source.
It covered the entire city knocking everybody below level 5 out, she closed her eyes like the rest.
" What’s happening?" She asked, Adrian was just as curious and confused as she was.
Anyx answered," A Rendersol is coming, it will be here soon."
" A Rendersol? What is that?" He asked, this was the first time he’s ever heard of anything like that.
Annie touched his shoulder, if though they couldn’t see, it didn’t mean they couldn’t perceive the world around them through other senses.
Adrian could feel her hand shaking, her heart was beating rapidly. " What’s wrong? Are you terrified of this thing?" He asked.
" You should be too." Anyx answered him instead.
" Rendersols are terrifying creatures child.
However you don’t have to worry, as long as you can’t see them or make too much noise, they won’t be able to hurt you."
This made him even more confused.’ It’s here.’ he received a telepathic message from Anyx, Adrian also felt a presence around them.
’Whatever you do, do not look at them and make no more than a whisper of a sound, nobody can save you if you do.’ Her words made the guests more terrified.
Some started sobbing silently trying their best to make as little sound as possible, Adrian could basically smell the fear in them but he was still confused.
He found it hard to fear something he hadn’t even seen let alone learn about their abilities.
He was immortal, there weren’t many things in this world that can kill him. ’ Is it just the eyesight or I’m not allowed to smell it either?’ He asked her through a telepathic message.
’Not quite, eyesight is not the issue, having its image in your mind is what makes it dangerous.
Once you’ve seen its true form in any way, you’re bound to die but don’t worry, besides sight.
The other senses cannot perceive them, they are odourless, they are soundless and without form.
However if you have an ability that allows you to see the world, don’t use it, I can’t have your death in my hands child.’
Adrian listened, he was skeptical but Anyx was older than even Meggie by countless years.
Her knowledge might even surpass all the information they had in his library and he hadn’t even read much there.
Annie grabbed his hand and squeezed, Adrian couldn’t remember the last time she was this nervous.
’ What do you know about this creature?’ He sent a pack call to Annie.
’ I read a bit about it, there wasn’t much information to begin with. It’s believed to reap the souls of those who see it.
It’s a spirit so it’s power is a law, strength is irrelevant in its face, it’s similar to the authorities of the seals.’
Her answer made him quiet, instead of fear he grew even more curious about it, he now wanted to see it even more.
Annie squeezed his hand as if she had read his mind, ’ Don’t you dare try it, your body might not be able to die but it would be a useless husk without your soul.’
’ Don’t worry I’m not an idiot, if you tell me not to look at it, I’m not looking at it, still, we can’t have this thing stay here.
How long can you keep the entire city in slumber?’ he asked.
’ Not very long, 7 days at most before I would have to do it again but using that much esper might draw its attention.’
He didn’t say anything to that, staying still was not an issue for him, he could remain like this for years.
His pack was no different, they were even more quiet than he was, he couldn’t see them but he knew them.
They were most likely standing as still as statues. The temperature started dropping rapidly.
This was something almost all spirits had, their esper was unique, they absorb the heat from their surroundings.
" It’s fine now, you can open your eyes." He heard Anyx whisper in his ear and his eyelids moved.
However he felt something was wrong a moment later he heard a loud scream from one of the guests then silence.
’ I told you, you fools, no matter what happens don’t open your eyes, no matter what you hear.’
Anyx shouted in their heads, ’ This is thing can even mimick voices, it might be more dangerous than I gave it credit for.’
For a moment Adrian thought about blowing the entire city to cinders, the werewolves would heal from such wounds.
Most of them at least but accidents happen, he shook his head, ’ Bad thoughts Adrian, bad thoughts.’
He sat down and Annie leaned her head on her, they huddled together in silence. ’ Tell me more about this thing.’
He sent a telepathic message to Anyx, his telepathy was not as strong or as secure as the pack call.
Still, he his psionic lunar esper was only below that of Annie in terms of quality, it was incredibly powerful.
’ What do you want to know?’ Anyx asked.
’ Anything? How to defeat them, where did they come from and what could they possibly want here.’
’ Defeating them is tricky, you need to feed them the eyes that saw the shame of the Amun- Ra.
As for where they came from? I can’t answer that, I don’t know, nobody does but they were there in the ancient era.
The last question, you’re not going to like this boy but it’s here for you, these things are the lap dogs of the Axiom and the Axiom want you.’
