Chapter 160: The Origin Throne
The tunnel beyond the remnant cavern narrowed until the walls nearly brushed their shoulders.
Black stone gave way to something smoother and darker, almost like glass that had never known light.
The gray glow vanished completely. Only the gold of the Sovereign Domain lit the way forward.
Levi walked at the front. Lucy kept close on his right, blade still free. Vespera matched his pace on the left.
Serakel, Isha, and the Reverend Mother Superior followed in silence. The air here carried no scent of blood or earth. It carried nothing at all.
’Every layer falls. This one will too.’
The tunnel ended without warning. One step they were enclosed. The next they stood at the edge of a vast open space that had no visible far wall.
The floor dropped away in a sheer cliff of the same dark glass. Below, an ocean of absolute blackness stretched without surface or end. No mist. No shapes. Only depth.
A single narrow bridge of the dark glass extended out over the blackness. It led to a floating platform far ahead, barely visible in the gold light. On that platform stood a solitary throne of the same material. Empty.
The Sovereign Sigil pulsed hard.

Lucy’s voice was barely above a whisper. "This was never part of any map."
Vespera’s living eyes stayed fixed on the distant throne. "Even the one you claimed on the pale platform never spoke of this place. It may predate her."
Serakel’s third eye remained fully open, scanning the emptiness below. "Nothing moves. But the pressure is real."
Isha’s slime had gone completely still along her arms. The Reverend Mother Superior’s golden mark glowed brighter than usual, as if answering a threat that had not yet shown itself.
Levi stepped onto the narrow bridge. The dark glass held. Gold light from the Sovereign Domain spread a short distance ahead of his boots and no further. The blackness below drank the rest.
’If this is the origin, then claiming it ends the question of who rules Neverland.’
He started across. The five women followed in single file. The bridge was only wide enough for one. No rail. No margin. The drop on either side was absolute.
Halfway across, the pressure increased. It did not push against the golden barrier the way the Mother’s chains or the living shadow had. It simply existed, heavy and old, settling onto skin and bone alike.

Levi kept walking. The distant platform grew clearer. The empty throne faced the bridge as if it had been waiting. No figure sat upon it. No chains. No shadow. Only the dark glass and the sense of something vast that had not yet chosen to rise.
When they reached the platform the pressure peaked and then leveled. The throne stood in the exact center. Behind it the blackness continued without end.
Levi stopped three paces from the throne. The five women formed a half-circle behind him.
’Empty. Either it was abandoned, or whatever belongs here has not yet returned.’
He stepped closer and placed one hand on the arm of the throne. The dark glass was cold beyond any cold he had felt in the outer dark. The Sovereign Sigil flared in answer.
[Expending 7,000 Aether]
[Sovereign Domain: Claim Probe]
Gold light sank into the throne. For a moment nothing happened. Then the entire platform trembled once.
A low sound rose from the blackness below. Not a voice. Not a roar. Something closer to a long inhalation.
The five women tensed. Lucy’s blade rose. Serakel’s cold gathered in her palms. Isha’s slime shifted. Vespera and the Reverend Mother Superior moved closer to Levi’s back.
The sound faded. The platform stilled. Gold light continued to spread slowly through the dark glass of the throne and outward across the platform floor.

Levi kept his hand on the throne. ’No guardian. No final witch. Only the foundation itself.’
He pushed more of the Sovereign Domain into the dark glass.
[Expending 12,000 Aether]
[Sovereign Domain: Deep Claim]
Gold light flooded the platform. It ran out along the narrow bridge and into the tunnel behind them.
The blackness below the cliff edge remained untouched, but the platform itself began to change. The dark glass took on a faint gold sheen. The cold lessened by degrees.
The low sound rose again from the depths, longer this time. The platform shook harder. Cracks of pure black split the gold light and then sealed again as the claim pressed forward.
Lucy spoke without taking her eyes off the edge. "Master. Something is answering."
"I know."
Levi did not remove his hand. The Sovereign Sigil burned hotter than it had since the fight with the Mother of Chains. Aether drained in a steady torrent, but the mark held.

The five women closed ranks. Golden marks on their skin flared in answer to the light pouring from Levi’s chest. The platform continued its slow conversion from absolute dark to gold-touched glass.
Far below, in the ocean of blackness, something vast shifted. The inhalation sound became a slow exhale that rose through the cliff and across the platform like a wind that carried no air.
Vespera’s voice was tight. "It is not a witch. It is not a remnant. It is the dark itself."
’Then I will mark the dark.’
Levi poured more of the Sovereign Domain into the throne. Gold light blazed. The platform flared bright enough to push the emptiness back a short distance. The cracks of pure black sealed faster than they opened.
[Claim progress: 31% → 48%]
The exhale from below stopped. Silence returned, heavier than before. The platform held. The gold sheen stabilized across the dark glass.
Levi finally lifted his hand from the throne. The Sovereign Sigil continued to pulse, slower now, as the claim settled into the foundation.

He turned to the five women. Their faces were tight in the gold light. Lucy’s snake eyes met his. Serakel’s third eye remained open. Isha’s slime had begun to move again. Vespera and the Reverend Mother Superior stood ready.
’Halfway is not enough. But it is a start.’
