Serakel’s third eye dimmed with something close to amusement. "The northern queen is concerned about footwear. We have fallen far."

Isha’s slime gave a soft ripple along her forearm. "I miss warm air. And food that is not the idea of food."

The Reverend Mother Superior spoke with perfect calm. "I miss walls that do not breathe."

Levi sat in the center of the chariot and listened to them. The corner of his mouth threatened to move.

’They spent days walking through ancient dark and the first thing they argue about is boots and breathing walls. Perfect.’

He raised one hand. "Through the gate."

Nima cracked the reins. Blue light surged. The chariot shot forward and passed under the black stone arch.

Cold vanished. Dark vanished. The heavy pressure of Neverland dropped away like a cloak cut from the shoulders.

Warm air and the clear light of the crystal sun slammed across them in a single bright wave.

The horses stumbled for half a step as their hooves hit ordinary earth. Nima cursed under her breath and hauled them steady.

Dust rose around the wheels. Birds yelled somewhere in the distance like they had been waiting for an audience.

Lucy stood up inside the chariot before it fully stopped and stretched hard enough that her spine cracked. "Solid ground. No mist. No chains. No grief demons giving speeches. I could kiss the dirt."

Vespera stepped down with more dignity, though her living eyes closed for a moment against the brightness. "Do not kiss the dirt. We just got the ash and bone dust out of our clothes."

Serakel dropped lightly to the grass and tilted her face toward the sun. "I forgot light could be this loud."

Isha followed, slime already adjusting to the warmer air with visible relief. "Loud is good. Loud means nothing is sneaking up in silence."

The Reverend Mother Superior descended last, brushing imaginary dust from the remains of her white gown. "I will require new clothes. These have seen too many layers of Neverland to be decent in daylight."

Levi stepped out last. The Sovereign Sigil settled into a quieter pulse under his robe, still present but no longer burning at full demand.

The golden marks on the five women glowed once in the sunlight and then faded to a soft, steady sheen.

[Domain Status: Neverland – Remote Authority Stable]

[Surface World: Re-entered]

[Prior Surface Marks: Detectable]

Lucy turned in a slow circle, taking in the outer hills of Aethermoor. "We have been gone long enough that someone will have noticed. The Academy. The central city. Your other women."

Vespera’s voice carried a dry edge. "They will have questions. Some of them will have sharp questions."

Serakel glanced at Levi. "And some of them will want to know why you returned with five additional high-ranking Neverland authorities instead of the original problem you went to solve."

Isha smiled slightly. "We are very decorative additional authorities."

The Reverend Mother Superior sighed. "I am a former holy mother of a convent that no longer answers to the old heavens. Decorative is not the word I would choose."

Lucy grinned at her. "You are decorative now. Accept it."

Levi watched them bicker in the sunlight and felt the last of the origin-layer cold leave his bones.

’They are already adapting. Good. The surface will not know what to do with them. Neither will the women I left behind.’

Nima cleared her throat from the driver’s bench. "Master. Orders? The horses can reach the outer Academy roads by nightfall if we push. Or the central city if we do not mind arriving looking like we crawled out of a grave."

Lucy raised a hand. "Vote for not looking like we crawled out of a grave. I want a bath. A real one. With water that is not trying to remember being a person."

Vespera nodded once. "Bath. Then clothes. Then the inevitable confrontation with whoever has been holding authority in your absence."

Serakel looked at Levi. "Your call."

He considered the open land, the distant shape of the Academy towers, and the five women who had walked every layer of Neverland with him and were now arguing about baths and boots in the sunlight.

’Neverland is finished. The surface is not. And these five are already making it more interesting than it has any right to be.’

"Academy first," Levi said. "We clean up. We eat something that has not been dead for centuries. Then we let the rest of the world discover we are back."

Lucy pumped one fist. "Baths. I claim first water."

Isha’s slime rippled in protest. "We can share. I am very flexible about shared water."

Vespera gave her a sideways look. "That sentence will cause problems in the wrong company."

The Reverend Mother Superior pinched the bridge of her nose. "I already regret the sunlight."

Serakel’s third eye closed with something that might have been a laugh. "No you do not."

Levi climbed back into the chariot. The five women piled in after him, still trading remarks. Nima shook her head once, cracked the reins, and turned the horses toward the distant towers of Aethermoor Academy.

The black stone gate of Neverland stood open behind them, gold light fading along its edges.

Ahead of them the crystal sun lit ordinary grass and ordinary roads and a surface world that had no idea what had just returned from the dark.

Levi sat in the center seat with Lucy already leaning against his right side and Vespera settled on his left.

The other three faced him, still trading low commentary about baths, clothes, and how many people were about to lose their composure when the chariot arrived.

’Lively is one word for it. Entertaining is another. The surface is going to need both.’

The chariot rolled forward under the bright sky, carrying the Sovereign of Neverland and his five claimed authorities back into the living world, where the next set of problems was already waiting to be surprised.
