Chapter 79: Clear the Room: I Need a Quickie to Finalize Her Case
Debris rained down from the walls of the Pendant Tower as two owls with amber eyes lowered themselves onto the upper chamber’s outside window stool, flapping their wings.
Levi tilted a tired look to the crystal window and blinked when he saw a white owl slamming its beak against the sill. ’Why are these creatures here?’
His chest heaved as he tracked the window’s angle for a moment before looking down at Empress Diana. "What is the meaning of this?"
Strands of silver hair danced across Empress Diana’s face when she turned her eyes from Levi and focused on the glass. "Oh, these divine creatures."
A faint sharp gasp flashed out of Levi’s mouth, and he squinted at the sight of Empress Diana’s heavy breasts pressing beneath the royal purple gown’s chest sleeve. "I didn’t ask if they are holy or not. I said, why are they here?"
Cloth rustled softly as Empress Diana placed her palm on her waist and lowered her head. "They only appear when a divine presence or someone activates a divine healing ability."
Fingertips tapped sharply as Levi drummed his fingers on the bed while slowly nodding. ’Who might that be?’
He scanned the dark corner, then slowly counted all the ladies present with a faint worried smile on his face. ’Maya and Mother Beatrice are here...’
His heart rate pounded hard once in his chest when his eyebrows raised. ’Saintess Lilith!’
Strands of Levi’s brown hair drifted at his front when a wave of cold air seeped through the opened window sill. ’She might be the only one who possesses that ability.’
Fabric flapped loudly as Mother Beatrice moved two steps forward. "Saintess Lilith and Senna Drae were not here when we came."
She darted a confused look at Maya Sirius, then back at Levi. "I think it would be Saintess Lilith."
Strands of wine-colored hair flashed by Mother Beatrice’s side when Maya moved a step forward and stopped by her side. "Then we have to go find out why she initiated that power."
Just as Empress Diana walked toward Mother Beatrice and Maya, Levi took in a deep breath and closed his eyes.
His ears began twitching when all three voices and a faint chain rumbling sound began blasting into his ears.
His heart pounded double against his ribcage while the Sovereign Sigil on his chest began to pulse whenever Lilith’s face reeled into his head. ’Something might be going badly.’
Hot air flashed out of his mouth when he cracked his eyes open. Thick veins bulged on his arms when he glanced over at the sight of Empress Diana’s bouncing chest beneath the lewd royal purple gown. "Maya."
Heel clicks echoed as Maya moved two steps forward and bowed. "My King."
Levi’s eyes narrowed faintly at the center line of Maya’s heavy breasts while she slowly lifted herself up. "All three of you should go and find out why she did that."
Strands of Maya’s wine-colored hair flapped on her shimmering raised chest as she turned and looked at Mother Beatrice with a faint smile. "Okay, my King."
Jetting light lingered in the room as Maya Sirius and Empress Diana walked to the chamber’s door and stopped.
The hems of Mother Beatrice’s white prayer dress swept on the floor as she turned and pointed at the chained mage. "What about her, master?"
A faint groan flashed through the mattress Levi sat on as he looked away toward Mother Beatrice. "What about her?"
Saliva snaked down Mother Beatrice’s throat as she gulped and nodded once. "She’s been in chains for long. I think it will be best if we send her along and place her among those already in the Hawk tower."
Chain clicks echoed as Nyx pulled her hand back and focused on Mother Beatrice’s face with a saddened joy. ’This is the beginning of my escape plan. And no one even thought of this.’
Strands of gray hair danced at Nyx’s front as she positioned herself as if all her energy had been drenched and kept a cunning eye on Levi.
The slanted stands of the bed groaned when Levi straightened himself. "About that."
Fabric strained in the quiet chamber when he pulled off his shirt and stood up on his feet. "I will have to give her a quickie to finalize her case."
Mother Beatrice’s eyebrows hardened with a faint jealousy as she focused on the smile in Levi’s eyes. "A quickie?"
Knuckles popped faintly as Levi eyed Mother Beatrice’s fumbling lips, then shook his head. "Does that concern you?"
Leather creaked as he unbuckled his trousers and gestured toward the door. "You’re keeping Maya and the Empress waiting. Stop asking questions and get along with them."
The Sovereign mark on Levi’s chest flashed once when he licked his lips and faced the chained mage. "And..."
Metal screeched faintly as Mother Beatrice turned sharply at the door threshold with an anger-reddened cheek.
"None of you should come here until the first morning light stretches in the sky."
A wet pop echoed as Mother Beatrice opened her saliva-soaked mouth. "Master, but why?"
Warm air flashed out of Levi’s nose and mouth as he fixed a heavy stare at the strands of gray hair trickling on the chained mage’s face. "Just do as I have stated."
His brow furrowed as he shot a sharp glare at Mother Beatrice. "Else you’ll ever regret doing that."
Chills ran down Mother Beatrice’s spine as she turned and stepped out. A loud bang shook the weak stone of the Pendant Tower’s wall when Mother Beatrice stepped out from its main gate. ’Why does he always want to do that?’
Heat surged from her skin as a tiny flicker of gold energy began spitting across her fingertips. ’Those actions affect us, but he doesn’t even think about us that are always being affected.’
Wet leaves drifted through the chilled night air and plastered themselves on Mother Beatrice’s angry face as she began stamping her heel hard on the ground.
The moment two of the plastered leaves on her face dried from the heat rising in her body and slid down to the floor, a loud chain cracking sound tore through the sky with a scream. "HELP!"
