Chapter 2048: Anna’s Advice!
Anna finally snapped out of it and turned to Max with a stern look. "What do you mean, easy win?"
Max looked at her innocently. "Exactly what I said."
Anna’s expression turned even more helpless. "All four of them sit at the 1st level of the Divine Lord Realm, and you’re only at the 1st level of the Law Manifestation Realm. Where’s this confidence even coming from?"
Max didn’t answer.
Anna pointed at Damian and Revona. "Only Damian and Revona fight first. Let’s hope they win their matches so you don’t even have to fight."
Max smiled wryly. "As you say."
Damian couldn’t help but smile seeing Max’s expression. He wasn’t sure whether Anna genuinely didn’t know Max’s real strength or was just too worried because of the realm gap, but Damian knew well enough that Max couldn’t be judged by cultivation alone.
Still, he didn’t explain anything. In a place like the Godslayer’s Pilgrimage, the fewer people who understood Max’s true ability, the better.
Bregor looked at Max with clear amusement in his eyes.
"A Law Manifestation Realm newcomer calling a battle against the Dragon Race an easy win," he said with a low laugh. "Interesting. I knew Primordials were arrogant, but I didn’t know they’d gotten this entertaining."
The Dragon Race newcomers behind him laughed too.
One of them looked at Max with contempt. "If he’s allowed to fight, I want him."
Another dragon grinned. "No, let me take him. I’ve never crushed a Law Manifestation Realm participant in the Battle Space before."
The third dragon shook his head and said mockingly, "Calling it a fight would be generous. It’ll be over before he even understands what happened."
Max listened quietly. His expression didn’t change.
Daniel glanced at him from the corner of his eye, and for some reason, that calmness on Max’s face left him a bit curious.
Most Law Manifestation Realm cultivators would’ve felt humiliated, scared, or angry under that kind of ridicule, especially facing Divine Lord Realm dragons. Max just stood there like he’d overheard a couple of kids arguing over a toy.
That calmness wasn’t simple.
Anna noticed it too, but she still sighed in frustration. "Just don’t cause trouble before we even reach the Battle Space," she said.

Max nodded. "I’ll try."
Anna narrowed her eyes. "That answer doesn’t reassure me at all."
Revona covered a small smile, while Damian looked toward the Dragon Race newcomers with a sharper gaze. Since the challenge had already been accepted, there was no point dodging it now.
They were all new to the Godslayer’s Pilgrimage, but if they backed down right after entering Bloodstone City, their reputations would take a hit before they even got a chance to build one.
Daniel looked back at Bregor. "Bet’s settled. Let’s head to the Battle Space."
Bregor smiled widely. "Good. Hope your newcomers are as confident as that Law Manifestation Realm brat."
Daniel didn’t respond to the jab. He just turned and started walking.
Anna followed beside Max, still wearing the look of someone bracing for a headache. Damian and Revona walked behind them, both more serious than before. Bregor and the Dragon Race group followed with relaxed confidence, their mocking glances occasionally landing on Max, like they’d already decided he was the weak point of the Primordial side.
As they left the Information Hall, more and more people started noticing the movement. A bet between Daniel and Bregor wasn’t a small deal in Bloodstone City. Both of them sat in the top ten of the Bloodstone City Rankings, and their names carried real weight among the geniuses of the outer layer.
Daniel represented the Primordial side, while Bregor stood as one of the strongest Dragon Race figures stationed in the city. If ordinary participants placed a wager in the Battle Space, only a handful of curious people would bother watching.
But when two top-ranked geniuses decided to gamble three hundred Gold Marks on a battle between newcomers, the news spread through Bloodstone City almost instantly.
At first, only the people inside the Information Hall heard about it. Then the news hit the nearby streets. After that, it spread to the mark exchange halls, cultivation chambers, race bases, inns, weapon shops, and trial recruitment areas.
Before long, plenty of people knew Daniel and Bregor had made a bet, and that the Primordial newcomers would fight the Dragon Race newcomers in the Battle Space.
The amount involved made people even more interested. Three hundred Gold Marks wasn’t something ordinary participants could shrug off. Even for high-level Divine Lord Realm geniuses, it counted as a serious sum.
For newcomers, it felt almost unimaginable. A lot of people quickly realized this wasn’t just a casual contest between young participants. This was a public test between two races, and the result would shape how the newest batch of Primordial and Dragon Race geniuses got viewed in Bloodstone City.
By the time Daniel, Anna, Max, Damian, and Revona reached the Battle Space with Bregor and the Dragon Race newcomers, the area was already packed.
The Battle Space building stood enormous, shaped like a circular fortress at the center of a wide plaza, its walls built from black stone and carved with countless silver runes. Those runes pulsed with light, creating a faint barrier that wrapped around the entire structure.
Above the entrance, a massive projection floated in the air, showing ongoing battles between participants from different cities across the outer layer. Every strike, every movement, every win, and every loss showed up clearly for the crowd outside to watch.
People from all five races had gathered. Primordials stood in groups near one side of the plaza, their expressions calm but attentive. Devils watched with cold smiles, clearly hoping to see one side get humiliated.
Spirit Race members floated or stood quietly near the edges, their luminous eyes filled with curiosity. Angels gathered in elegant silence, golden halos glowing above their heads as they watched the arriving groups with unreadable expressions.
Dragon Race participants stood with their arms folded, scales gleaming under the strange light of the city as they looked toward Bregor’s group with open confidence.
