Chapter 2906 - 96: Jealous Men Are Hard to Handle
Just as Harrison Lucas finished speaking, a low, cold voice sounded from behind.
"I’ve been hearing your vigorous voice since early in the morning upstairs, seems like you are in good health lately."
At some point, Ben Lucas had already come downstairs. He was in a crisply ironed military uniform, completely devoid of the seductive laziness from this morning when he was embracing Harrison Lucas in bed.
In private, Ben Lucas habitually called Commander Nelson his teacher.
Commander Nelson: "You kid finally decided to come down... You arrived just in time, come here, I have something to discuss with you!"
Commander Nelson originally thought Ben Lucas was still lazing in bed, but seeing him come down so neatly dressed, the gloom on his face lessened considerably.
He bypassed Harrison Lucas, headed to the staircase, and personally invited Ben Lucas down.
Harrison Lucas let out a sigh of relief seeing the young master come down in time, not a hint of the scheme was noticed by the Commander.
She quickly made way and went to pour tea.
As Harrison Lucas finished making the tea and came out of the kitchen with the tray, she heard Commander Nelson, sitting on the sofa, pointing at Jennifer Connor and saying to Ben Lucas: "Young Jennifer is a child I’ve watched grow up. She excels in her studies, has a good character, and is both beautiful and intelligent, making her and Harrison Lucas a perfect match. Today, I’m acting as a matchmaker for them, let Harrison Lucas try dating young Jennifer. Both are young people who have common topics and might get along well."
Harrison Lucas’s hand shook, almost dropping the tray.
She thought the Commander came early to see the young master, unexpectedly, it turned out to be matchmaking.
Harrison Lucas was about to step out and stop it when she heard Ben Lucas’s cold, stern voice: "No, I don’t agree."
The Commander flared his nostrils and glared: "Why don’t you agree, kid? Are you worried that Harrison Lucas’s social status isn’t good enough and doesn’t match with young Jennifer? No need to worry about this, we are all descendants of military families, and character and ability are what matter most. Harrison Lucas’s journey from the Military Academy to the military base was all under my watch, this child is excellent, and even Old Connor wouldn’t object."
"When did I ever say Harrison Lucas isn’t good enough?" Ben Lucas coldly raised his eyes and glanced at Jennifer Connor sitting beside Commander Nelson.
Ben Lucas: "I meant, she isn’t good enough. Miss Connor is not a match for Harrison Lucas, not by a long shot."
"What... Ben Lucas, do you know how to speak, how can you talk about the young lady like that!" Commander Nelson knew that Ben Lucas was always blunt, but he didn’t expect him to be so excessively candid.
This was outright disrespecting the young lady to her face!
Even Harrison Lucas was startled by Ben Lucas, the young master’s way of speaking was too offensive.
Yet Ben Lucas was nonchalant, looking at Jennifer Connor’s face which turned red in an instant, and said bluntly: "Did I say anything wrong? Miss Connor is eyeing our Harrison Lucas eagerly, isn’t she attracted to our Harrison Lucas? But unlike Miss Connor, our Harrison Lucas attended the matchmaking ball yesterday just to complete the unit’s task. After ’he’ came back, not a word was mentioned about Miss Connor."
"This shows that Harrison Lucas doesn’t have Miss Connor in his heart... Chief Helmsley’s matchmaking here, rather than thinking for the two young people, is more for Miss Connor. What, is Miss Connor so desperate to get married that she’s afraid of not finding a match and clings onto our Harrison Lucas?"
Ben Lucas’s words were just too blunt and hurtful.
He actually, right in front of the girl, unhesitatingly said she was desperate to get married, even implying she was being clingy.
