Chapter 425 - 347: Ultimate Killing Move (Part 2)
A look of interest appeared on the Dean’s face. "Go on, keep talking."
"So you can’t just torture humans at will. You can only have the Head Nurse assign us impossible tasks so that when you go in for the kill, you don’t break the rules. I never imagined that even someone as powerful as you has to follow rules. What exactly are they?"
"Human, don’t try to be clever with me. Did you really come here without considering the consequences? I didn’t take your kind to be so reckless."
Wen Ying smiled. "Fine. I want to know about the last will. Can you tell me, Dean?"
Hearing the two words "last will," the Dean’s fury intensified, and he transformed in an instant.
"Human, since you refuse to learn your lesson, I’ll have to teach you one myself."
A look of satisfaction and relief appeared on the Head Nurse’s face. She seemed delighted that the Dean was about to punish Wen Ying.
Because his previous attack had failed, this time, dozens of tentacles erupted from the Dean’s body at once, assailing Wen Ying from all sides.
Wen Ying was trapped in the center, with no way to escape.
"Don’t waste your strength on that blade of yours. Did you really think I’d let you strike me a second time?"
The Head Nurse heard this in disbelief. ’This human actually managed to injure the Dean?’
"Dean, this human has all sorts of strange items. You should be careful."
The Head Nurse found a spot and leaned against the wall, as if to rest. She appeared to be in a rather good mood.
But to her surprise, right after her warning, a translucent barrier of light appeared around the human. The Dean’s attacks were blocked, seemingly unable to advance any further.
But the moment the Dean retracted his tentacles, his entire body transformed into a massive sphere, its top only centimeters from the ceiling.
The sphere rolled toward Wen Ying.
Seeing this, the Head Nurse fled the room without a backward glance. As she left, she even remembered to shut the door behind her.
Wen Ying stared at the massive sphere, large enough to crush her flat. It reeked of a foul stench. The tentacles appeared to be retracted, but they still covered the sphere’s surface in a dense, writhing mass.
As the sphere rolled, Wen Ying could feel the very ground trembling beneath her.
Her path to the door was now blocked.
Wen Ying stepped forward and tried to push it. Even with strength dozens of times greater than a normal person’s, the moment her gloved palm made contact, she thought, ’It’s so heavy!’
Wen Ying retreated. ’I can’t destroy this sphere... but I can destroy—’
CRASH! The wall shattered, revealing a large hole.
’At this rate, it’s going to destroy every wall on this floor.’
The Head Nurse stared in disbelief as the human emerged from the hole in the wall. "You... you actually destroyed the Dean’s office?"
Wen Ying kicked her right back inside.
Just in time for the sphere to roll over and pin her down.
Green blood poured from the Head Nurse’s mouth. "Dean, save me!"
The brightly lit floor suddenly grew dim and gloomy. A hand shot out, grabbing Wen Ying as easily as an eagle snatching a chick. "Human, do you really hate playing with me that much?"
At that moment, Wen Ying heard a deep rumbling, like the sound of thunder.
The very air in the room grew thick and viscous.
"I was going to play with you a bit longer, but now I’ve changed my mind. A face as beautiful as yours... it would be perfect for making a lantern."
"Don’t even try to struggle. Although there is something inside you, human, that gives me pause... you can’t use it now."
Waves of immense pain shot through Wen Ying’s arm. When she tilted her head to look, she saw cracks like a spider’s web spreading across her skin.
’What kind of bizarre Skill is this?’
"System!"
The Dean before her had completely reverted to his true form, looking even more terrifying than when Wen Ying had seen him in the domain.
His immense, oppressive aura suppressed the Spiritual Energy in Wen Ying’s body, making it completely impossible for her to draw upon it!
Her fingers were already beginning to fracture!
"Don’t worry, human. I like this face. I won’t destroy it."
"You wanted to know about the last will, didn’t you? How about this: once I’ve hung you on the wall to serve as my lantern, I’ll tell you everything about it."
Though phrased as a question, his tone made it an absolute command.
"System!"
*"Host, I’m being suppressed..."*
The System’s voice cut off abruptly. An overwhelming sense of crisis made Wen Ying feel a pang of genuine fear.
’This is the first time I’ve ever felt truly afraid.’
’Is this happening because I’ve been slacking off? Because I didn’t bother to train, and now I’m being completely overpowered?’
