Chapter 416 - 344: Little Tiger (2)
The onlookers were baffled.
"What’s wrong with Smith? How did he actually turn into a tiger?"
"And now he’s treating that woman from Flower Country as his master? This is just too bizarre! She’s his mortal enemy!"
"Is this a side effect of his Beastification? Or is it some kind of Sorcery from that Flower Country woman?"
Lost in their own thoughts, the onlookers quickly scattered and vanished from sight.
They were, of course, terrified that the woman who knew Sorcery might decide to "deal with" them right then and there.
The little tiger tilted its head back, its eyes glittering as it stared up at Wen Ying, looking for all the world like Doctor Wen’s little pet.
And then the livestream chat exploded.
[My god! Is this a hallucination? Did that guy really turn into a tiger?]
[When he used Beastification earlier, I was wondering how a Skill that powerful didn’t have any side effects. I guess I didn’t have to wait long to find out!]
[But is he treating Doctor Wen as his master or his mom?]
[LMAO! Is Doctor Wen an instant mom again?]
[This little tiger is so cute, I suddenly can’t bring myself to hate him. But for real, why isn’t his fur blonde like the guy’s hair was?]
While everyone was still reeling from the shock of a man turning into a tiger, the people from the Free Country looked so grim they seemed ready to explode.
And they really were about to explode.
Smith’s death had already been a loss for the Free Country—a tremendous loss!
But now, he had suddenly turned into a tiger?
What in the world was this ability?!
A tiger like this had to belong to the Free Country. So why was that useless Smith following the woman from Flower Country?
She was his sworn enemy!
Regardless, the tiger absolutely could not fall into the hands of that woman from Flower Country!
That tiger could only belong to the Free Country!
Smith had been their citizen. Even in death—or whatever this was—he should belong to the Free Country!
With that in mind, they immediately began drawing up various plans to get the little tiger back.
They had to make Flower Country send the tiger back!
At this point, they had completely forgotten about the deceased Smith. All they could think about was the possibility that the little tiger held some kind of secret!
Meanwhile, the Flower Country officials, who were working overtime to watch Doctor Wen’s livestream, had been overjoyed to see Smith’s defeat.
They were confused but delighted when Smith suddenly turned into a tiger, especially since it was now following Wen Ying.
Soon after, however, they began to consider the potential consequences of this incident.
’Make Doctor Wen return the tiger?’
’Impossible!’
’The tiger belongs to Doctor Wen. If she’s willing, we’d love to study it. We’d even be willing to purchase it.’
But for now, they had to deal with the threat from the Free Country.
The Free Country had a twisted worldview, was notoriously vindictive, and had no regard for the rules. They would definitely start threatening Flower Country next.
Wen Ying crouched down and looked at the little tiger before her. ’It’s pretty cute.’
But when she remembered that this little tiger had been a tall foreign man just half an hour ago, she pulled back the hand she had been extending.
It wasn’t that she disliked the little tiger; she just couldn’t bring herself to pet him right now.
’Better take this one step at a time,’ she thought.
"Little tiger, can you understand me?"
The little tiger wagged its tail at Wen Ying, clearly trying to curry favor.
"Good. It’d be a huge pain if I had to learn the language of beasts."
The little tiger wagged its tail again, wrapping it around Wen Ying’s ankle.
It let out a nearly inaudible sound, but Wen Ying understood.
"Hungry? Makes sense. You’ve been running around for a while, so you must be. Shall we go find something to eat?"
The little tiger followed behind Wen Ying, leaving the dormitory and heading toward the cafeteria.
It wasn’t mealtime, so the cafeteria was empty of both people and monsters.
The little tiger sat obediently on a cafeteria table, watching Wen Ying.
Wen Ying knocked on the glass of the back kitchen and shouted, "It’s mealtime!"
"Human, what do you—" The voice cut off. Upon seeing Wen Ying’s beautiful face, the speaker swallowed the rest of their words.
"Greetings, Great One. What would you like to eat?"
"See that little tiger over there? Just feed it until it’s full."
The cafeteria worker looked in the direction she indicated, just as the little tiger, which had been sitting on the table, suddenly dashed toward them.
That pounce was clearly instinctual, ingrained in its very bones.
With a swift movement, it landed on the glass display case. Seeing such a brazen little tiger, the cafeteria worker reached out and snatched it up in one hand.
With a look of displeasure, the worker said, "I don’t care where you came from, you can’t run wild in here!"
In the worker’s eyes, this was clearly just a little tiger that had wandered into the mental hospital from who-knows-where and happened to run into this human.
The human, being kind-hearted, had simply brought it to the cafeteria.
