Chapter 417 - 344: Little Tiger
’But what kind of place is this?’
’This is the terrifying world of mist!’
’One couldn’t be disrespectful to a Master, but killing a little animal like this? That wouldn’t be strange at all!’
Grabbed like that, the little tiger immediately started whimpering, looking up at Wen Ying with teary eyes.
Wen Ying was speechless.
’Well now, it’s really gained a mind of its own, hasn’t it?’
"It’s my pet." Wen Ying enunciated each word, causing the cafeteria employee who was about to teach the little tiger a lesson to freeze instantly.
’A pet?’
’The Master’s pet?’
’Good thing I haven’t done anything yet.’
"So it’s your pet, Master! I’ll go prepare some delicacies to feed your pet right away. No wonder this little tiger is so adorable."
The still-whimpering little tiger: ’???’
’Damn, this monster is a real two-face!’
Wen Ying found this amusing. She reached out to scratch its head. "You even know how to whimper. Have you gained sentience or something?"
The little tiger pretended not to understand her, lowering its head and starting to pick at the table with its claws.
"System, he doesn’t have Smith’s memories, right?"
"Rest assured, Host. The little tiger is now an independent biological entity. It has no connection to Smith and thus none of his memories. It belongs only to you, Host. Of course, this wittle system pulled a few strings... but for you, Host, anything is worth it~"
Wen Ying was speechless.
’I suspect the System has been possessed, but I have no proof. What can I do?’
’Anyone got any ideas?’
Hearing that the little tiger had no connection to Smith, Wen Ying finally felt at ease.
’After all, you can’t just treat a person like a pet. At least, I couldn’t get over that mental block.’
Without a moment’s hesitation, Wen Ying reached out, scooped up the little tiger, and started to gently squeeze its ears and cheeks before rubbing its little belly.
The little tiger immediately rolled onto its back, letting Wen Ying pet it just like a cat.
’Soooo comfy.’
When the food was served, the entire table was covered in meat.
The little tiger ate with gusto. Unbelievably, its tiny stomach managed to polish off the entire table of meat.
"Little Tiger, should I give you a name?"
’Wen Ying had just remembered this. After all, she couldn’t keep calling it "Little Tiger," and she definitely couldn’t call it Smith, right?’
The little tiger swished its tail, looking at Wen Ying with anticipation.
It was clearly looking forward to its new name.
But in the livestream chat—
[Doctor Wen is hopeless with names. Even as a fan, I have to beg Doctor Wen to spare the poor little tiger.]
[I second that. Doctor Wen, maybe you should consult a dictionary first?]
[It’s such a cute little tiger. She’s not going to call it Little Huang, Little Gray, or Little Black, is she?]
[Why not Little White or Little Hong?]
[Are you new here? Don’t you know Doctor Wen already has a Little White? And I think there’s a Little Hong in this asylum too.]
[I haven’t seen Little White in so long. Today is another day of missing Little White.]
Wen Ying had clearly glanced at the comments, as she couldn’t help but laugh. "Hopeless with names, am I? In that case, why don’t we crowdsource a name for the little tiger? Feel free to share your ideas."
Instantly, all sorts of names began to flood the livestream chat. What a colorful world~
"I think I’ll spend the next little while visiting the other dorms~"
Wen Ying knocked on the doors one by one, but after opening them, she found all the dorm rooms were empty. There was no one inside.
Suddenly, the little tiger grabbed Wen Ying’s ankle in its mouth, let out a "meow," and then ran off in a certain direction.
Once it let go, Wen Ying followed.
’I didn’t expect a place like this existed here. It was also in the basement, but it was a room hidden within a wall.’
There was no visible door; it was either nonexistent or seamlessly integrated into the wall, impossible to spot at a glance.
The little tiger sat down in front of the wall, pointed at it with its paw, and then made a knocking gesture.
Wen Ying stared at the wall for a long time but couldn’t find any trace of a door. She knocked, but there was no response.
’Looks like I’ll have to be clever about this.’
Wen Ying lifted her foot and kicked. KABOOM!
A large hole appeared in the wall. What should have been stone bricks was instead just splintered wood.
WHOOSH! The little tiger zipped through the hole she had kicked open.
Wen Ying had to widen the opening, and in doing so, she completely destroyed the door.
Wen Ying walked inside and saw about a dozen people in the room, but not all of the players.
When they saw Wen Ying, their expressions grew heavy, filled with fear, confusion, and doubt.
They clearly couldn’t understand how this woman from Flower Country had found this place.
The little tiger sat on a chair with its legs crossed, looking at Wen Ying as if to claim credit for its discovery.
"Exactly how many players are in this asylum? And how many are still alive? Gather everyone, tell me everything from start to finish, and I might consider letting you live."
Wen Ying didn’t want to waste any more time.
BANG! A stone block in the corner of the room exploded into fragments, kicking up a thick cloud of dust.
