Chapter 461 - 361: Part 2
After all, what happened with the old man was something most people wouldn’t believe.
Having witnessed it herself, she understood that some things in this world simply couldn’t be explained by science.
Including life itself.
"I never imagined Little White would be this adorable." Aunt Zhang chattered on, holding Little White’s hand.
Finally, she noticed Kong Jian standing off to the side. "Don’t tell me he is, too?"
"This is Kong Jian. He’s human, just like us. You could call him my disciple."
"A disciple? He looks quite promising." Aunt Zhang smiled.
"Little Ying, this house is too small. Let me book a hotel for you all. There’s one that’s not too far."
Wen Ying declined Aunt Zhang’s offer.
"Auntie, I have to keep an eye on Uncle tonight, so I can’t go anywhere. We can just make a pallet on the floor, and they can sleep on the sofa."
"That won’t do at all! You wait here, I’ll go buy a folding bed right now. I’m just sorry you’ll be uncomfortable."
As decisive as ever, Aunt Zhang hurried out. Little White asked curiously, "Sis, how come Aunt Zhang isn’t curious about me becoming human?"
Up until now, Wen Ying had never told anyone Little White’s true identity.
Aunt Zhang was the very first.
"Aunt Zhang and Uncle Zhang are exceptions. They’ve already had contact with... people from the world below. They can accept your identity, and they don’t have a malicious bone in their bodies. But you can’t be sure about others."
"People from the world below?"
Little White didn’t know about this. While she had been at the clinic back then, she hadn’t taken human form yet, and she wasn’t always with Wen Ying.
"Yes. They’ve seen the old man who passed on, and they’ve burned some offerings for him."
Wen Ying briefly explained the situation to Little White and Kong Jian.
"So what’s going on with Uncle Zhang?"
"I need to take a closer look, but he’s not in any real danger. Don’t worry. If you’re bored, you can watch some TV."
Little White nodded.
’She loves watching TV!’
’TV is so much fun.’
Kong Jian wanted to watch, too. He’d barely ever seen television before.
He’d heard Little White talk about it so often that he was curious to see it for himself.
The three of them sat on the sofa and turned on the TV.
Wen Ying asked Little White what she wanted to watch, and Little White blurted out, "The Domineering CEO Falls for Me."
Wen Ying was speechless.
"We don’t have it."
"How about *The Young Madam’s 99 Escapes*?"
"No."
Little White’s brow furrowed. "How can there be nothing? Fine, little bro, you pick. What do you want to watch!"
"I’d like to watch something about Dragon Tiger Mountain."
"They definitely don’t have that!" Little White answered preemptively.
Wen Ying just searched for *The Outcast*. "This one has a whole arc about Dragon Tiger Mountain. It’s pretty good. You can watch this."
Kong Jian nodded happily.
He had been to Dragon Tiger Mountain before, and many other mountains as well.
Sometimes with the Liger, sometimes alone. He wondered, if the Liger saw this, would he remember?
But Kong Jian wanted to watch.
But Little White pouted unhappily. "How come they don’t have what I want to watch, but they have what he wants to watch? Is this TV discriminating against me?!"
Kong Jian, who had been excited to watch the Dragon Tiger Mountain show with the Liger, now felt a little guilty.
"Da Guo, what is ’The Domineering CEO Falls for Me’?"
"Don’t listen to Little White’s nonsense. They don’t make shows like that anymore. Just watch the Dragon Tiger Mountain one."
Wen Ying pulled Little White aside and looked at her seriously. "Little White, I’m not going to stop you from watching TV, but I’m recommending a genuinely good show for you: *Three Lives Three Worlds, Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms*. You’ll definitely love it."
"What’s that?"
Little White took out the new phone Wen Ying had bought her and did a search. "’Fox Clan? Qingqiu? Immortal Gods?’" Her attention was immediately captivated.
Domineering CEOs were all forgotten, thrown to the back of her mind!
’A TV show about foxes! Little White had never seen one of those before!’
’Wow, this fox-lady is gorgeous!’
’I’ll definitely be even prettier when I grow up!’
Aunt Zhang quickly returned with the folding bed. She had also bought some fresh fruit and a variety of snacks and drinks.
Since she’d bought so much, she had paid someone to help deliver it all.
Seeing Little White watching TV and Kong Jian looking at his phone,
Aunt Zhang finished tidying up and pulled Wen Ying aside to chat.
She had seen news about Wen Ying’s exploits a few times, but had been too busy to follow them closely.
Aunt Zhang started telling Wen Ying about what was happening with the old man.
"Little Ying, it seems the old man is really conquering the world." Aunt Zhang still sounded incredulous as she said it.
’Conquering the world!’
’What kind of person does that make him?’
’Heroes whose names echo through the ages!’
’And who are we?’
’Our Zhang Family are just ordinary country folk.’
’The whole "conquering the world" business should be completely unrelated to us.’
But after the old man passed on, he actually managed to bring glory to the family?
’Conquering the world!’
In ancient times, the world was the Emperor’s to rule!
’Doesn’t that make us the Imperial Family?’
Even after all this time, Aunt Zhang still felt a sense of wonder and disbelief whenever she thought about it.
Even if it’s the world below, it’s still a world.
"The weapons we burned as offerings for the old man—they actually worked! A while back, the old man sent a dream to me and your uncle, saying he’d already conquered half the territory. But after that, we never dreamed of him again. And it was right after that when something happened to your uncle, and we haven’t been able to contact the old man since."
"Did the old man give you and Uncle anything?"
Aunt Zhang shook her head. How could someone from the world below give something to the living? ’Isn’t that asking for the impossible?’
But seeing the look on Wen Ying’s face, she thought about it again more carefully. "Other than the antiques we found thanks to his dreams, there was nothing else."
"Nothing from Uncle, either?"
Aunt Zhang shook her head. ’I don’t think so.’
’No, wait. Could there have been something?’
"Now that you mention it, I think I remember something... Back then, your uncle was about to tell me the old man had given him something, but I was busy and didn’t pay it any mind. We’d already turned the old house upside down and found nothing valuable, after all. But maybe...?"
"We’ll have to wait until Uncle wakes up to ask."
Aunt Zhang nodded. "Alright. You should get some rest, too. You’ve been busy ever since you got here. I’ll go start dinner."
Wen Ying checked her phone, just as a call came in.
It was an unfamiliar number. Wen Ying answered it without a second thought.
"Wen Ying, is that you? It’s Mom! Oh, you have no idea how hard it’s been for your mother, trying to find you!"
