Sayia fumed in silence. More than ten minutes passed with no reaction from Wen Ying.

Sayia threw all the snacks Wen Ying had given her onto the floor. "I don’t want your stuff! Just leave!"

Knowing Sayia was only worried about her, Wen Ying sighed.

As Wen Ying turned to leave, Sayia still had her back to her, sitting in a corner and hugging her knees. She seemed to be crying.

Wen Ying left a few more snacks for Sayia.

When she heard the door close, Sayia finally looked up. There were now many more snacks scattered on the floor.

Many of them were tasty things she had never seen before.

’They must be snacks from the human world, right?’

’Why is this human woman always so kind?’

’I wish she were a little meaner.’

Sayia stared silently at the snacks on the ground before getting up, bending over, and picking them up one by one.

Cookies, instant ramen, potato chips, shrimp crackers, spicy strips, bread, chocolate, soft candies, hard candies, lollipops, donuts, pastries, cup noodles, mixed noodles, and all sorts of nuts.

There was also a large pack of what the human had called "hunger-busting" compressed biscuits, which were much harder.

It was a huge pile, completely covering her bed.

Sayia stared at all the things in silence.

’I don’t understand why this human insists on seeing the Director.’

The thought of the Director made Sayia’s whole body tremble.

He was a Demon.

Sayia suddenly ran to the corner, pressed her forehead against the wall, and her body began to tremble uncontrollably.

After summarizing all the information on the other players, Wen Ying finished her late-night snack and went to find the Head Nurse.

The Head Nurse was clearly displeased to see Wen Ying, but then she remembered the Director wanted to see this human woman.

She suppressed her anger.

At eleven o’clock at night, the mental hospital was exceptionally quiet.

It was as if everything had come to a standstill.

The sky was a profound black, a blackness that felt like a false mask, unsettling to behold.

"Follow me," the Head Nurse’s voice was deep and cold.

But Wen Ying noticed that before leaving, the nurse straightened her clothes and checked her makeup in a mirror.

The Head Nurse didn’t say a word the entire way.

In the second-floor corridor, the flickering lights intensified the terrifying atmosphere.

At the end of the second-floor hallway, the Head Nurse reached out and knocked twice on the wall.

A door materialized on the wall.

From their side, in the dim yellow light, the world beyond looked brightly lit.

The Head Nurse stepped through and reached out, as if to help the human, but then she remembered how this human had wandered in here by mistake.

She pulled her hand back.

And just as she expected, Wen Ying walked through with ease.

The barrier seemed to be nothing to her.

"Human..." The Head Nurse trailed off, not understanding why.

"Wondering how I could get through?" Wen Ying smiled. "Because I’m the chosen one."

The Head Nurse’s flicker of anticipation immediately reverted to disgust.

’Hmph. The chosen one?’

’The only thing waiting for you is death.’

’This human’s body is so fragile. The Director probably wouldn’t...’

After they crossed over, they found themselves in what looked like a normal mental hospital. It was large and fully equipped.

Nurses were on duty even late at night.

The brightly lit corridors were deserted and quiet.

But as they passed the patient rooms, they could occasionally hear sounds coming from within.

There were screams, curses, stifled sobs, and furious outbursts.

"Stop looking around, human."

Seeing Wen Ying peering through the small window on a patient’s door, the Head Nurse warned, her face livid.

"What happens if I look?" Wen Ying asked casually, though it was just an idle question.

But the Head Nurse felt the human was provoking her again.

’And there was absolutely nothing I could do about her!’

The Head Nurse glared at her coldly. "Don’t you want to see the Director anymore?"

"I do."

"Then hurry up and follow me. I’m not waiting for you!"

"If you don’t wait for me, will the Director punish you?"

The Head Nurse was speechless.

’Why was she letting this detestable human get the better of her?’

’I really want to tear this human to shreds!’

"But it is getting late, and the Director needs his rest, doesn’t he? We’d better hurry."

The Head Nurse gritted her teeth, shot Wen Ying a glare, then turned and quickened her pace considerably.

Instead of taking the elevator, the Head Nurse led the way up the stairs, climbing all the way to the sixth floor—the top floor of the mental hospital.

The sixth floor was much quieter, and the lights were also dimmer.

The spacious area appeared to be deserted.

The layout here was completely different from the floors below.

It had a spacious lounge area, furnished like a luxury villa, as if it had stacked buffs for comfort and leisure.
