Dream Life

Episode 84: Graduation: Previous

Tria Calendar June 29, 2017.

Today for the Tilia School of Magic, there is the two hundred and eighty-first graduation ceremony. I mean, it's our two hundred and eighty-first term graduation.

Unlike the entrance ceremony, my father Masaias, my mother Tanya, my brother and my sisters were here. This is more like attending my brother Rodrick's wedding than attending my graduation.

His brother's wedding will take place in Welburn, the capital of Raswell Borderline Uncle, the governor of the northern part of the Caerm Empire. This is because my brother's opponent is Uncle Borderline's daughter.

My recent situation, but an ancient site survey commissioned in mid-October, it was hard after this.

It was good to the point where I gave Professor Kitley Erbain an additional report.

But Mr. Kitley told Dr. Raspade about the ruins.

Thanks to that, I kept getting caught by Dr. Raspade until the end of the year. Especially with the newly remembered storage magic, the magic theory I named Inventory, Dr. Raspade became interested until he was unusual.

As for the theory, he tried to cloud the tea by making the story of the space-time continuum appropriate. But the teacher didn't convince me inside, saying that the magic formation at the transfer gate and the theory of storage magic were close, and there should be tips for reproducing them.

I managed to convince him that I wasn't sure either in the end, but he still went to the woods quite less often.

There were other reasons why we went to the woods less often.

Because while canned in Dr. Raspade's lab, he developed new magic tools.

The Magic Prop is a soundproof Magic Prop.

Why did we have to develop soundproofing magic props?

That's because I was tied to Liddy.

The night I returned to Doctus from the ruins of the Ancients, Liddy came to my room.

It was a rare, serious look for her.

"I've been thinking on my way back. I wonder what I'll do when you're gone."

"I'll always be with Liddy. So don't worry about it."

She waved for the first time in a big way, "I'm an elf. And you're human! scream."

"You will one day be gone from before me. When I heard about the ancient researchers, I thought. When you're gone, I could be just as self-absorbed. Maybe I'll go after you..."

I blocked the word.

"Stop me! We've talked about that before!

And calm your mind,

"And my body is only fourteen. There are still more than fifty years until life expectancy comes. They say highly magical people live longer, so there must be nearly seventy years. Now is not the time to think about it."

Liddy waved the worn again,

"No, when I walked into that ruin, I thought, I thought you wouldn't come out like this. That's when I stopped feeling your presence. It was really horrible..."

Apparently, the fact that I couldn't feel my presence anymore with the Dupree family ring I was given when I was five - a magic tool that made me feel cheap on both sides with a pair of rings - made her anxious.

"I want a definitive connection..."

So I turned my face bright red, and I said, "... you can do it now, right?" and whine in a small voice.

I just said, "What can I do..." and I realized what Liddy was trying to say and I couldn't keep saying.

She asked me if I'd come to hold a woman.

"Sure I can... but I wouldn't be able to do it here. Mel and Sharon are right around the corner. And Beatrice."

Liddy waved for a long time, "If you'd said that, you wouldn't be able to do it all the time!" and strongly deny it. And he jumped straight into my chest.

"I'm anxious... that you might be gone... so..."

I couldn't let Liddy go in this situation. Because it was more than what I wanted myself to be.

I held her.

She was new. And I was new in this body, too.

We might have been closer to making sure of each other than to loving each other then. I guess I wanted something definite somewhere in my heart, too.

I couldn't brake on the pleasure I remembered once.

Liddy also had confusion at first, but from the second time on, he had lost his teeth.

So much so that he greedily sought them out.

The time I spent with Liddy was really just the two of us. Maybe I didn't realize what was happening around me. I was looking for Liddy from the bottom of my heart.

But there was a problem.

To be precise, there was no problem between us. Because we just love each other, we don't have problems, but we have serious and real problems.

Yes, Liddy's voice is too loud.

The walls of this house are just planks of wood. Naturally, there is no soundproofing.

I mean, instead of the Beatrices upstairs, even to Dan, who's on the ground floor, if he's bad, he might even sound like a neighbor.

I'm glad you called my name, but it's so loud, I didn't feel like I was going to hear you around once I was concerned.

This situation is very awkward. I have three adolescent children.

In fact, the next morning we loved each other, Mel and Sharon lay down their eyes in embarrassment, and Beatrice had a grumpy look on her face.

When I tell Liddy about it,

"I can't. 'Cause I didn't think about it then... and it's not good for that. Because I know we love each other."

"No, that's not the problem..."

She said, "What kind of problem is that?," he asks wondering.

I'm stuck in words.

I've never had a puberty child, and I have no idea what to do with it.

Trouble is, I tried to solve it by turning it off. I suppose it would be the right thing to do to convince Liddy to explain it properly to everyone. It is not a fundamental solution, but we have to rely on it. I myself am aware that it is a thought close to escaping reality.

(The point is, it would be nice if your voice didn't leak. After that, if you put a thick carpet or something under the bed, it shouldn't be a problem)

And I decided to make a soundproofing or soundproofing demon prop, but even the demon prop landlord, Professor Raspade, knew nothing about soundproofing demon props.

"I've never heard of it. Turn it off... but what do you need to turn it off for?

I can't answer honestly, I just said what I came up with.

"I think it could be used in top-secret talks or something, and I was wondering if it would be useful to do research in a quiet environment..."

"Mm-hmm. It would certainly work in secret. But if I immerse myself in research, I don't mind the noise."

That being said, he handed me a box with demonic crystal stones.

"In this there is the Demonic Crystal Stone of all attributes. Use it as you please."

Extravagantly, it even contains second-degree equivalent demonic crystal stones, which I say are good to use as I please. The Demon Crystal stone is bought by the Adventurer's Alliance and wholesaled to the Mage's Alliance, etc., but it is worth 100C (Krona) and 100,000 yen at the purchase price if it is equivalent to the third level. Furthermore, to the second level, which is advanced, the purchase price will not drop by 1,000 C. Especially at the tertiary level and above, the selling price most often reaches several times the buying price because the ease of obtaining varies greatly from attribute to attribute. In other words, Dr. Raspade told me that I was free to use more than a few million yen of material.

I thought I would not normally want to make a loan and would shy away from it, but this time I decided to let it be used thankfully. So much so that I was stuffed with wings.

Organize conceptual thinking as you begin to develop.

The sound is a vibration of the gas, and if you want to suppress it, you just need to lower the barometric pressure. Ultimately, if you vacuum it, the sound should go away. If that's not possible, you can create a layer that imagines sound-absorbing material.

by what and how to achieve it next.

Manipulating the air, or gas, definitely makes it magic of the wind attribute. I wish I could make it into a magic prop that asks the Spirit of the Wind to create a vacuum state, but it's hard to convey the concept of vacuum.

Spirits of the wind can move the air. If you imagine having the air out of a space, it should be a vacuum pump. But the gas flows to a lower barometric pressure. How to prevent it.

The story changes, but there is a very strange phenomenon in wind attribute magic.

It is possible to “solidify” gases. Technically, it's also subtle whether it's a substance or not, but the blade of the whirlwind (windblade), my original magic, and the blade of the swallow wing (swallow cutter) solidify the blade portion, thereby killing and tearing the object apart. In other words, we can make the air into thin plate-like objects like blades.

This phenomenon is utilized to superimpose two thin membranes. Make it so called a pair of glass-like structures. And through the air in between, you should be able to create a vacuum plate with wind attribute magic.

Later, if we set it up so that it covers the object, the sound as an air vibration would not be transmitted to the wall. Still, the floor vibrates by sound, which may propagate and transmit, but the thickness of the floor is higher than that of the wall, so it is better to lay a thick carpet or the like to physically prevent it.

Reason came to mind relatively easily. But then it was hard.

First, we need the Spirit of the Wind to create a double board. The application of a whirlwind blade (windblade), but nowadays it does not create attack magic with magic props. However, the security devices in the ruins - the burglars call them “traps" - have a magic formation that strikes out something like a whirlwind blade, and by applying this, the board managed to create it.

The problem is the magic formation to get the air expelled. The magic formations of such "Tagu" have not even been discovered from the ruins and there is not even a theory. I mean, I had to make it from scratch myself.

The magic formations must be made easy for the Spirit of the Wind to understand. Some patterns have been established, and by combining them, they create the functions that you want.

Carefully write down the place of action, motion, duration, etc. It is a kind of programming and the operation itself is not that difficult. But it's just as hard to explore optimal operating conditions as programming.

Air travel can be relatively easy to create, but it is difficult to maintain it. From the box-shaped combination of double plates, we move the air, but the question arises as to how to maintain it after it has been unplugged.

It is necessary to combine the determination that the air has been purged with the action of closing the vent further, but the determination of the vacuum cannot be made by the spirits of the wind.

In the end, even after purging the air, I made it a way to maintain the vacuum with the image of keeping the vacuum pump running, but this was quite the crook.

Even after purging the air, it wastes energy = magic in an attempt to move the air further. The prototype consumed only a minute or so of accumulated magic, even though it used a tertiary equivalent of Demonic Crystal Stone.

This doesn't help at all. At least thirty minutes, we just need a little more time right now.

In the end, he repeated trials and errors, sometimes all night long, in the production of magic props.

He continued to work silently under the pale light of the lighted demonic props, remembering before the delivery time when he was in Japan.

But when alarmed, Liddy walks into the room and the work stops at all. I know myself, but I didn't think I was this vulnerable to temptation and desire.

Still, I managed to complete the prototype in about ten days.

It is about six tatami in size and has a duration of approximately two hours. However, it would be a luxurious magic item to use more than one expensive magic crystal stone equivalent to the second level and one equivalent to the third level, and if you were to sell it, you wouldn't lose 10,000 C (krona) or 10 million yen even if you despise making money.

After completion, I also asked Dr. Raspade, who provided me with the Demonic Crystal Stone, to make sure it worked.

When I checked the sound outside and inside the room, I could barely hear people. Even if they shouted inside, they worked so well that even well-eared elves and beasts couldn't hear them.

"That's great. That's Mr. Lockhart. By the way, to whom does this magic team intend to sell it?

Basically, there are no patents in this world.

However, in the case of magic formations, the same effect cannot be achieved without drawing the exact same thing, which is why they are often sold in a manner close to patents. Simply imitated and made by non-designers makes a huge difference in effect due to slight differences in drawing other than simple magic props. For this reason, it is normal to sell complex magic items with the idea and description of the design of the magic formation.

I was only thinking about using it myself, so I wasn't thinking about who to sell it to.

"... right. I feel it would be best if you bought it from the Mage Guild"

The teacher agrees "that's good" too.

Then go to the Mage Guild and apply to see Speaker Worgman, as usual. I've been trying not to look too familiar lately, but the chancellor seems to be giving me instructions, and I immediately got permission to see him.

"What can I do for you today? If you want to get a job in the guild, you're welcome."

I laughed unexpectedly at the chancellor who hadn't given up yet.

"No, it's not about that. I came to buy you a certain magic formation today. I think it would be quicker for you to see it first..."

That's what I say, I take my prototype out of the bag.

"This is a soundproof demon prop. If the staff can help, I think we can see how it works."

The chancellor nods at my words and calls the staff.

And I did experiments like I did at Dr. Raspade's.

Speaker Worgman sees the effect and doesn't keep his mouth shut. Then, after lowering the staff, he opened his mouth to Xu "Omoro".

"Also, it's something that I made a lot of... certainly not a useful item. Especially for someone like me, very useful in politics. Perhaps the heads of state will ask for this by name."

Speaker Worgman said so as to whine, "How much do you want me to buy this out for? I've heard."

"I just want to say 100,000 C (krona) (= about 100 million yen), how about 50,000?

The chancellor gave a slightly surprising look,

"Fifty grand? I think it's pretty broken...... does it even come with any terms?

At the end of the day, he stares at me with a vigilant look.

I nodded loudly,

"There's only one condition. Only to be strictly controlled by the Mage Guild. This technology is actually very dangerous. It can be used as a trap..."

All I could think about was this time I pulled out the air between the double boards for soundproofing, but what happens if I double this? By purging the air in the room, an acid deficiency condition can be created.

In today's magic formation design, we use a lot of magic just to drain the air between the double plates, and in fact we can make gaps in the floor area, so we can't make a complete sealed state with a single layer. However, if this point can be successfully worked out, it is theoretically possible to drain the air inside.

I don't think about building further walls, and even if it's just a function of purging air, it's possible that a well-sealed room can make it acid deficient. The point is, we just need to be able to secure more emissions than air inflows.

If you attach a time limit device to it, or falsely activate it with another demon prop, you might be able to kill people without realizing it. In other words, it can be a magic tool for assassination.

"I don't think there's anything so far that could be modified other than me. It may be possible for Dr. Raspade, but the teacher won't show any interest in such a thing. But it's not necessarily that anyone who realizes this possibility and yet has enough knowledge to modify it doesn't show up. Considering that, we decided it would be safer for you to manage it strictly in your guild."

Speaker Worgman sweats on his forehead and shakes his head small.

"Why did you tell me that fact? [M] the fact that no one would notice if I didn't say it."

"Your Excellency would not abuse it. Because it involves the credibility of the Mage Guild. But being spoiled of control without knowing the dangers of this is too risky. At least a very limited number of magician guilds should be aware of the danger."

The chancellor remained silent, staring at me.

"Consider that the earlier price of 50,000 C also includes a nuisance fee"

Speaker Worgman shakes his head small and smiles bitterly.

"Sure, I would buy even 100,000 C's of this magic prop. If I sell two, I can get enough of them. But... that would be good. Assuming you try to modify this magic tool for assassination, you won't be able to do it any time soon. I don't think a genius like you would show up like that."

Speaker Worgman opened up to the council about purchasing designs for soundproofing magic props.

And it was approved, with the admiration of the senators, for the broken purchase of 50,000 C.

For the record, this soundproof demon prop had another effect.

That's insulation.

Using this magic prop in the winter makes the temperature of the room drop considerably smaller. Given that the original idea is multi-layered vacuum glass and the high insulation effect of multi-layered glass, it's a natural story.

By combining this with the magic of the pseudoperce effect, the duration was short but quite close to the comfortable living environment I had when I was in Japan.

And there was another ripple effect.

That's what I came up with because I made a "board” out of wind attribute magic.

The magic in this world has a lot of attack magic. For defenses, earthly attributes and metallic magic may “harden” the armor, but they could not find the so-called “shielded” magic. I succeeded in creating the “Wind Shield" magic with Wind Attribute Magic.

It was derived from the magic of a whirlwind blade (wind blade), and I feel strange about the shield, but the wind attribute magic created a defensive magic that floated in the air.

Although this magical advantage blocks sight with regular wooden or metal shields, this air shield is transparent and ensures sight. You don't have to hold it with your hands anymore, so you can defend it with your hands free.

The only unfortunate thing is that it takes time to activate and the unexpected use of magic to maintain it. It'll take me about ten seconds to activate, and the limit is enough in a row. The poor fuel consumption of the magic power snuck in, and the more restrictive magic props could not reproduce the ones of sufficient ability. Perhaps a large first-degree equivalent Demon Crystal Stone of Magic Capacity would ensure about a wooden shield and enough duration, but using a second-degree equivalent Demon Crystal Stone was not very high in defense and only capable of receiving arrows released from quite a distance.

Being a user of wind attribute magic, me, Liddy and Sharon can improve their airshield abilities by their imagination and take them to a practical level, but as far as I'm concerned, I wanted to demonize them and make them available to everyone. Especially the avant-garde, and wanted Beatrice and Mel to hold it with a two-handed weapon.

As a way to improve, we are studying whether we can improve our defenses by deploying multiple thin plates, but so far we have no prospects.

Incidentally, the "effect” of soundproofing demonic props, but the sound itself is well prevented, but in the sense of its original purpose, I don't feel it's very useful.

Due to the nature of the magic props, the sound can't be turned off until Liddy walks into the room, so at the time she walks in, I know exactly what she's going to do.

Maybe I'm just used to it, but maybe it's helping because the Mels don't care as much as they did before.

And about Beatrice, but she stopped caring, too.

I stopped caring because I wasn't like the Mels.
