Dream Life

Episode 85: Graduation: The Later Story

Around the beginning of January, when the year of Tria calendar 3017 dawned, I was freed by Professor Raspade, and Beatrice told me that I wanted to speak alone.

I invite her into my room, uncomfortable with Beatrice, who feels like she's sinking sometime. When he entered the room, Beatrice did not open her mouth inside.

When silence ruled the place and the awkward air began to flow, did you decide to, Beatrice began to speak in a slow tone.

"... you're graduating this year. When you graduate, you're not living here, are you? What are you gonna do?

"So far, I'm not going back to the village once. But you haven't made up your mind. Right, you can travel around the world. Either way, at least we'll get to Ars early."

After graduating from college, I went back to the village and was going to slow down a bit.

Of course, I had only decided to go to Ars, king's capital of the Kingdom of Kaum, because I annoyed the Blacksmith Guild, and then to finish it off, but I had not decided otherwise.

Because I already thought it was time for the reason I came to this world, the task of leading those whom God sends.

If God's word is right, he should be born five years later than mine. When that happens, the person I meet is ten years old. In other words, if the mission is to “lead”, I will meet the man in less than ten years.

So I'm not making a clear policy right now. Because even if I decide, I'm pushed away by the flow and I don't think it makes much sense.

Beatrice exhaled a small, sighing breath, not looking at me,

"What am I supposed to do? Can I stay with you?

I wasn't taking it too seriously then.

"What are you talking about? You're coming with me, aren't you?

That's what I said in a light tone.

If it's normal Beatrice, that's still good. But I didn't understand how she felt.

Beatrice looks down and slowly starts talking in a squeezy way.

"I'm anxious. You're all getting stronger. In exchange, I'm going to lose my strength. I was wondering if I could go with you..."

Indeed, we Zach Cartels are gaining strength with tremendous momentum. Plus we're only in our mid teens. It will be stronger now. The same goes for Liddy. She's a long-lived elf. It will not fade, it will slowly but surely improve its abilities.

In exchange, Beatrice turns thirty-five this year. Now, I'm not old enough to fade, but five or ten years from now, it's not strange to be anxious.

"I want you to come with me. Are you worried about that word alone?

But Beatrice answers nothing. She looked terribly weak to me.

"Zach, you're a genius. Besides, there's a guy who asks for an example of God. Those kids are geniuses, too. In exchange..."

I held her tight without saying anything.

(It does make me anxious. When I was about that age, I couldn't see ahead. It was the first time I got anxious. The future ahead and the past I've lived in so far. I'm going to compare that. I should have known sooner. I guess I had the feeling Beatrice would be fine. its my sweet......)

Beatrice trembles with horror, but she leaves her body with me only slightly.

"I'm sorry. Looks like I was sweet. I'm more..."

She blocked my words,

"I didn't think you'd feel this way, either. I always thought I could live alone..."

I hug hard again and fall straight into bed.

And took her lips.

The next morning, when I woke up, I saw Beatrice's face blushing in embarrassment.

He calls out as usual, but with his back to me, he wraps his sheets around his body.

"What's going on? You regret that?

She doesn't answer my questions.

"I have no regrets. I just followed my heart honestly, including about Liddy. I'll say what I said yesterday again. Come with me."

I wouldn't have held Beatrice before. Because I found someone I could love from the heart named Liddy. If I held Beatrice, Liddy might leave, thinking so and remaining indecisive, I would have continued my current relationship with Zuluzu.

But I didn't want to regret it in this life.

As long as you compromise on your feelings and live in a safe, secure way, you won't regret the departure of two beloved women, Liddy and Beatrice. I'm not going to regret later knowing I made the wrong choice.

Perhaps no one but me will understand this mindset. In fact, if I were still in Japan and living like before, I would have turned to those who accuse me of being him.

Still, I didn't want to let Beatrice go. I guess it's an outrageous behavior. I guess it's a man's selfish idea.

But at least I won't regret what this has done.

When I say, "Come with me," again, she slowly turns to me.

There were tears on his face.

"That's really good. Even if I'm with you..."

Beatrice smiles slightly when I snort.

"Now I'm your woman, too. Now I'm embarrassed to put it in my mouth, but I want to be able to say it with my chest up one day."

In the end, this year, after entering the Tria calendar 3017, I no longer sleep alone when I am at home.

The two women were in contrast.

Liddy is intensely passionate and always confirms his affection by the time he goes crazy. That sounds like you don't think you'll regret being the last one, like you're ready to part with this life.

Beatrice, on the other hand, is the exact opposite, sweeter on the bed than you can imagine from her usually powerful and riddled. That sweet way looks like a kitten, enough to secretly feel superior to this fact that I'm the only one who knows.

And they're both loving to me.

June 29th.

White cotton clouds float by the way in the blue skies that fall through the early summer.

Today is graduation from the Tilia School of Magic.

For me, I didn't think it was such an emotional event, but I still felt a little lonely when I thought I was leaving college where I spent five years.

My plans after graduation, but to attend my brother's wedding, I'm headed with my parents to Raswell Borderline Uncle Territory.

This time, the Fathers' escort is accompanied by five young men from the village vigilante, in addition to three squires: Guy Jakes, Byron Seedorf and Enos Vassel. Apparently, it's a new squire candidate, and the idea is to spread the word.

Guy's choice would be his father's consideration of having him attend his daughter Sharon's graduation ceremony.

Byron is accustomed to traveling and from his previous experience serving as a troop leader in the Kingdom of Kaum, he is also among the most courteous of our squire. This would be the reason for the selection.

Enos seems to have accompanied his mothers as the owner of the carriage.

The squire, as usual, hardens himself with protective gear, but is new or brand new gear. The vigilante youngsters are also not scratchy protective gear in training, but wear polished breast plates and helmets, and furthermore wrap around a ceremonial cloak with the Lockhart family crest - a risen lion with a sword - which, beside him, is completely invisible to the knight's squire in the countryside.

My father told me that sometimes it was his brother Rodrick's wedding, and that he had new gear for his entourage.

Further back to Guy, he said there was information in a letter from his brother's fiancée, Miss Rosalind, that some of Uncle Borderline's edgers didn't think well of the Lockhart family. Walt Vassel, a squire head, cared about it, renewed his gear and even slammed his modus operandi into the vigilante's youth. Not only that, but the veteran Guy was also spilling his stupidity that he had been slapped into the modus operandi.

"It was tough. That warm Lord Walt was pretty nervous... so I'm not a biological squire either, am I? Lord Walt and Byron beat him thoroughly..."

Plus where my mothers got the carriage, it was a pretty fine carriage.

The black-painted body depicted the Rockhart family crest, and Enos, who serves as your deacon, responded with a stiff move.

This is also a story I heard later, when Enos went out of his way to Ars, king's capital of the Kingdom of Kaum, to serve as his noble squire, he said.

My father and grandfather didn't seem to think I needed that much, but they said there seemed to be something to think of the squire who knew about the old days, like Walt and Nicholas, and they didn't shake their heads vertically when they expressed their opinion that grandfather wasn't necessary.

We get on that fine carriage and go from New Town to Old Town.

Exactly because of the presence of senior aristocrats such as the Counts, it is not so conspicuous, but my father also cemented himself in a new white-based courtesy, totally invisible to the rural knights of the border.

My mother also wears a simple dress with a black tone, which is really picturesque when I stand alongside my father.

10: 00 a.m. The graduation ceremony began.

The greeting of the Dean of the Academy continues with the congratulations of the guests in a derisive manner. There's nothing different about this neighborhood from Japanese schools.

Guests, but this time the Speaker of the Council of the Mage's Guild, Pears Worgman, is also present. This time, he's sitting in a seat on the kinship side. It almost erupted unexpectedly that the Chairman of the Board of Education and Research, who congratulates him as the representative of the Alliance, frequently sent his gaze to you.

I receive a message from a school student, and I, the graduate representative, give the answer.

This time, as well as the admission ceremony, I prepared the text appropriately linked from the draft of the historical answer, but only the last part I thought of myself.

"... We leave the Tilia School of Magic here today, where we have studied for five years. But we're still immature. In future, we will be taught by our predecessors and encouraged to drill further… From now on, different ordeals will await us. Sometimes things like being prepared to die in the dark may also be about to be crushed by the logic of a large organization. But we are going to spare no effort to overcome it on the basis of what we have learned here. We learned about it in this college… I would like to thank the teachers who guided us at the end, the college officials who have shadowed us, set us in motion and supported us, and the families who raised us and watched us. Zacharias Lockhart, Representative of the Tilia School of Magic, Phase 281"

When I bow my head on the stage, the venue will be dominated by tranquillity for a moment.

And when Speaker Worgman stood up at the kinship table and began applauding, the applause spread all at once, and the venue was dominated by the sound of a freshly cracked.

As the applause continued, I slowly went down the stage.

The graduation ceremony was successfully completed.

I go say hello to Professor Lionel Raspade and Professor Kittry Erbain who took care of me.

Professor Raspade is in the same tone as usual,

"I guess you won't stay here."

When I nodded, the professor smiled and said, "That's a shame. But come whenever you feel like it," he offered his right hand.

I said, "Thank you so much for five years," I bowed my head big, then took the professor's hand. When the professor nodded contentedly small, he also spoke to Sharon.

"Miss Jakes can come anytime, too. Of course, you're welcome alone."

Sharon had just replied, "Yes," to the word, and couldn't say anything more. I guess I didn't think the famous Professor Raspade would solicit himself.

The professor nodded satisfactorily and went back to his lab.

In the same way I thank Mr. Kitley, the unexpected words returned.

"I'm leaving the college for a few years, too. So far, I'm thinking about investigating the Aquila Mountains, so I might be able to take care of you in Periclitle."

And add it as if you remembered something.

"With that said, your home was also at the foot of Aquila."

I didn't know what the question was meant to be, and I was a little confused.

"Yeah, the more east you go, the closer you are to getting into the mountains. What's that?

"No, I felt like I should hire you rather than hire adventurers in Periclitle."

Ms. Kitley said she intends to conduct a site survey based on information from the site survey that the Aquila Mountains also had a community of ancients.

And if the village of Rasmore is close to Aquila and seems convenient for the investigation, it looks like they've thought about hiring us.

"If you get a chance, I'll help you. Well, Aquila is huge, so not necessarily there are ruins near our village."

She said, "I don't mind. If you get a chance," he said, offering his right hand.

I took her right hand and thanked her again.

When I finished greeting Mr. Kitley, Quentin Worgman approached me.

"Mr. Lockhart. Thanks."

Quentin suddenly thanked me. When I'm eating, I keep talking.

"I... no, I think the best thing I've ever thought about getting into this college is that I've met you, Zach. If I hadn't met you, I'd still be a child..."

He turned seventeen this year and was about to grow up from a boy. And he has a slightly wild face of a father concession, but a young, confident smile. I also feel a little stretched back, but I smile as if I'm trying to be independent.

At the time of the year, Quentin went into the woods regularly, even after he was about to die alone, and now exceeds level twenty. Without me and Sharon, I would have been chief at Dantoz. Although I did not receive Professor Raspade's lecture until the end, it seems to be recognized to some extent by the professor. Surprisingly, a professor who didn't remember the names of the graduates of the last decade or so remembered his name.

I said, "Not because I was there, Quentin. That's the result of your efforts," he offered his right hand.

He took my right hand and shook it back tight.

"I hear you continue to be an adventurer. I'm jealous that you can live that way."

I snort small.

"I hear you're going to Sartooth. Are you going to be born in a guild from a court magician just like your father?

"Oh so far, I'm going to...... my goal now is somewhere else"

I said, "Another goal?" and lean his neck.

"Ten years from now, no, twenty years from now, I want to be able to talk to you on an equal footing. Mine now... I'm not used to saying... Zach, not even at your feet right now. I can't do it in ten years. But I'll make sure to catch up with you in twenty years. That's my goal now."

"Well... then I have to work hard too. Twenty years from now, don't let me regret that this guy was my goal..."

When I said that and laughed, he laughed back at Nicole, too.

(At first I thought he was a nasty guy, but he's a hard worker, and he's not a bad character. Even if you are at the center of power called the Mage Guild, you want it to continue to grow honestly...)

Again, when he gripped his right hand hard, he told Sharon, "Sharon is one of my goals. I'll make sure you catch up. Until then, be well," he told him all at once, turning his heels back and running under his father, Speaker Wargman.

Seeing how it went, I thought maybe he was in love with Sharon.

(There were few contacts, but it's possible. Well, I guess Quentin isn't the only one who's one-sided with Sharon)

In fact, there were many male students who confessed to Sharon. A beautiful girl with an elegant face and a modest personality who was not proud to be entertained with genius seemed to make a good impression.

In that regard, none of the female students come to confess to me.

Quentin told me that the girls saw me talking to Dr. Raspade on an equal footing, and they felt something of an inhospitable majesty. As far as I'm concerned, it was just fine, but Liddy and Mel were outraged that Doctus' female students had no eyes to see. In fact, if there's a girl who comes by, that's going to complain about something.

Sharon was a little emotional,

"Mr. Worgman has changed, hasn't he? I wondered what would happen at first...... but what do you mean, I'm the goal?

Sharon doesn't seem to realize that Quentin is putting his thoughts on herself. Even if she notices, she'll be in trouble, and Quentin will be heartbroken instantly, so that could have been nice.

"Right. I wish I had a bigger goal than targeting me or Sharon."

That's what I said, and again, I saw what happened to Quentin.

(Twenty years later, I wonder what's going on with Quentin. If I say that, I wonder what's going on with me...)

I looked up at the blue, clear sky and gave my thoughts to the future.

And tell me about this college you spent five years in, about the people you met here.

Meetings in this city have changed me dramatically.

Professor Raspade, Mr. Kitley, Speaker Worgman, Cy Furman...... and Beatrice. And there was always Liddy by my side.

(If I hadn't met Beatrice... that day, at that hour... I guess I would have had a completely different life now...)

I was staring at the college building with that in mind.

(I will never live here as a graduate student again...... I really enjoyed my life here. It was quite different from the college life I had in mind but I didn't expect to have such a full day......)

When I'm confused, Sharon takes my hand and pulls it gently.

Her eyes were straight and only looking forward.

"The hall and wife will be waiting for you. And Mr. Lydia."

Sharon seems to see only the future.

I looked back again and saw the college building.

And now Sharon wouldn't prompt me, and I started walking towards the gate where my family waited.
